He spent time with the team this season as a “special-guest” coach if you will. If he liked it and if he’s willing to put up with the long season grind like Mayo is, he could very well be the guy. I’d also expect the team to try to find a long term Edelman replacement this offseason, no better guy to coach him up than his predecessor.

What, did you think McDaniels would make a good HC?

Not too disappointed. Especially since this helps increase the chances McDaniels stays. I know a lot of people get annoyed with him (most fanbases dislike their OC unless they're setting records) but Josh's experience and connection with Brady is invaluable.

I've always hated the Giants and always will. Even before the Patriots were a team, I was a Browns fan and enjoyed Jim Brown running over them. . So, I hope Joe gets a lot of Giants money and they continue to suck for many, many years to come.

Yes, belichick prepares his coaches to move up and on. Judge would have left anyway; he had an offer to be a college head coach (perhaps for more money).

I think McD is a good OC but I think he had a bad year this year.

I think, for Gettleman, that Judge is a less threatening choice. McDaniels has considerably less to gain and far more to lose in taking the job than does Judge. As a result, Josh is going to want final roster say and his own personnel guy.

So did Judge request a no Eli Manning rider in the contract?

luckily we okay the giants every year in the last preseason game so we get to see him often, even if no starters are playing.
