Everyone’s been saying the dynasty might be over.

Dynasties are never dead if you ask me, they live on forever.

Nothing or no one can take away from what has happened in the past 20 years... as far as "everyone saying", that sounds a tad trite.. do not listen to sportstalk radio, as those dudes will be insufferable, "I told you so"..

I suspect that BB has hung on this long as he wants to show the football world what he will be able to do post #12.. stay tuned this ain't over yet.

"The dynasty is over " I have been hearing the same message for a few years. And the dynasty still lasts.

They have been Super Bowl favorites for most of the last decade...every year including this year.

That is right, but especially for lat few years some so called experts have been trying to tell the world explicitly and loudly that Patriots are over.
Simply some folks cannot stand every year Patriots are frontrunners in SB race.

Since the loss on Saturday the vultures have been circling. All this talk about the dynasty having ended because we lost one game is so premature. Being a dynasty does not mean you are going to win every single game!! My face book page has been blowing up non stop since Saturday night, I think I must have ignored nearly 90 % of it. I have two friends that are not Patriot fans but they love Brady as they are both Wolverine fans , thank god for them as they have replied to some less than flattering posts on my behalf and 3 other friends that are Patriot fans who have gone on the war path with the jealous idiots. The rest can kiss my a.....
If we are in the mix again next year with a deep playoff run then does it mean our dynasty never ended or is it SB or bust for the Patriots, anything less means the dynasty is over ? That is such s ridiculous premise. I knew the hatred for the Patriots ran deep , I just didn't realise how deep till Saturday night !
if the hate is still that intense, the dynasty is still alive. My fb is blowing up too because im in the Pittsburgh area. They are still treating every loss like a national holiday even in the regular season. Deep down the jealousy and fear is still there

The opposing fans you folks are talking about are those I think of the most when the Pats win. Them and all the others whose teams have bones scattered around the NYFL because of Brady and Belichick. It can't be all that great to be in their shoes.

Sure, they lost again, as they have a few times over the years. But the dynasty's over when B&B say it's over. Nobody but them can end it and I don't think they're done. How could anyone bet against them?

Yup. I never thought that I'd see anything that even came close to Bill & Red, but a half century later here we are.

Dynasty remains as long as Belichick is healthy.
Yes Brady was huge but there's more than 1 way to build a champion.

The dynasty is over when they are no longer a playoff team, despite being at full strength.

If Brady is back, the Patriots will be in the top 5 of Vegas Super bowl odds for next year, and I'd have to say it's not over.

It takes multiple championships to get one dynasty and I think it takes a good QB and a good HC to pull that off. We just happened to get the best of both.

It's a different a dynasty without Brady

We need to stop being so negative. It's impossible to win a SB or go to the AFC championship game every year. Unfortunately this team just did not have it this year. There will be some major changes to this team this off-season & we may suck next year. But we still got Bill & good ownership. Long term the team will be fine.

They had 1 bad game against the hottest offense in football (Bal) and a shaky game or 2, tops. Tannehill and the Titans O was red hot down the stretch. They only gave up 14. Only gave up 23 to Mahomes. And don't forget that the D has been spending most of the 2nd half of the season playing from behind, with all the pressure on their shoulders. The O has been so bad that the defense literally has to score to win. This D would be 15-1 this season if the offense wasn't invisible.

The whole argument of 'they can't add the weapons Brady will want' is absurd. A major influx of talent at WR/TE is absolutely necessary, regardless of who the QB is. If this team let's Brady walk and doesn't add serious offensive pieces, they will not even win the division. The D can afford to lose a piece or two, but no matter what, this O needs a '07 like offseason.

I agree with your larger point but the Houston and Miami games were absolutely bad defensive performances. Houston was doing literally whatever they wanted until going into Bill O'Brien's patented ******** prevent mode. Miami...well, I don't know what the excuse even would be. That might be an even worse defensive performance than at Baltimore. Gilmore got absolutely cooked for something like 150 yards and the other players didn't do much better.

I will say that the defense did fine against Tennessee despite my fears they would repeat the previous week. It was the offense that failed us in the end.

The dynasty was "over" when the Pats lost to the Broncos in the playoffs in Jan 2006.
The dynasty was "over" when the Pats lost to the Colts in the AFCCG in Jan 2007.
The dynasty was "over" when the Pats lost to the Giants in SB 42.
The dynasty was "over" when the Pats lost Tom Brady to injury in 2008.
The dynasty was "over" when the Pats lost to the Ravens in the WC round in Jan 2010.
The dynasty was "over" when the Pats lost to the Jets in the divisional round in Jan 2011.
The dynasty was "over" when the Pats lost to the Giants in SB 46.
The dynasty was "over" when the Pats lost to the Ravens in the AFCCG in Jan 2013.
The dynasty was "over" when the Pats lost to the Broncos in the AFCCG in Jan 2014.
The dynasty was "over" when the Pats lost to the Chiefs in the regular season in 2014.
The dynasty was "over" when the Pats lost to the Broncos in the AFCCG in Jan 2016.
The dynasty was "over" when the Pats lost to the Eagles in SB 51.

Every single time the Patriots lose a big game people say the dynasty is over. And yet they just keep rolling. OBVIOUSLY they aren't going to win it all every year. The great 49er dynasty lost in the first round of the playoffs three times under Montana. The Steelers won 4 SB in 6 seasons but also lost in the divisional round twice in a 7 year span amidst those SBs (and went 9-5 one season, which would have been catastrophic in today's media world). I mean come on. If you keep saying the dynasty is over every time a team loses a big game, well, eventually you're going to be right.

A dynasty is only known in hindsight. Any current prediction is is just wishful thinking by the individual.

What I'd like to see is an objective definition of "dynasty." I suggest it be defined as consecutive years of winning the AFCE, or making the playoffs. IMO, 2020 will be a big challenge in this regard.

I disagree about the effects of Brady skipping OTA's.

Josh Gordon was going to flame out anyway.

Dorsett is what he is...he was never going to get better than he is now.

Harry? Maybe...if he never got hurt and was able to build on training camp practices in August and the first 8 weeks of the season.

Meyers Olszewski? Maybe....but Olszewski is very raw...

But the other guys like DeMaryius Thomas, Dontrelle Inman, Maurice Harris, Braxton Berrios, and etc....would have been a waste of time, IMO.

Snau wasn't even here by then also...

Just look at how quick Brady got on the same page with AB...it only took 1-2 weeks for AB to have a better performance than any of our receivers had all year....other than Edelman...and the one game Snau had in his debut.
