Just an observation but since Garoppolite nation arose sometime in 2016 Ian's forum profanity filter has tripled in size. Coincidence?

By the way this thread sucks ****.

See?
Just remember: The **** crows at midnight

You’re clueless. I would like to see Jimmy G work with this unit and then you can tell me how great these wideouts are lol.

I am sorry, did I mention JG at all in my post? I don't think so.

My point is before you write brady’s obituary give him an above average offense. Doesn’t have to be filled with super star wideouts but guys that can get separation and beat man coverage that’s why i bring jimmy g to the conversation. Him being younger he wouldn’t have done any better with this unit in fact i don’t even know if he goes 12-4 like brady did. We have seen jimmy g with better talent in San Francisco yet he still shows some inconsistencies.

Your first sentence is a claim from a single national media source that has been refuted by multiple local reporters as part of an article that has been thoroughly denied both on and off the record, so I’m just gonna stop there.
In fact, we heard from a couple of sources that Lynch asked about trading for Brady and got a BB "snort" in return.

EDIT: Wrong GM

Why do some of you work so hard to make using this forum a painful experience?
Stop chasing the light from the flashlight. Go take a nap.

BB tried to move on from Brady a year earlier than most wanted him to...

baseless speculation

but Kraft stepped in and prevented it from happening

baseless speculation

BB had a plan for this all but was forced to trade JG by Kraft

regurgitation of baseless speculation

we’re getting near the point where Brady is going to have to pass the torch.

Congratulations, you finally made a cogent point!

Meanwhile, you and others clog the board with useless, ill-informed, know-it-all rants on Brady's future and/or the "rifts" that may or may not exist.

You know...I’m fine with this line of thinking, provided someone can show me a link to their opinion in 2017. I think I was one of the more pro-Jimmy guys on the board, but I still thought it was the right move to keep Brady due to him being a historical outlier, and now the move seems even better because the gamble paid off with #6.

So I’m all for the second guessing about Jimmy G. being the right guy in New England. What I’m not for is the pathetic “I want to have my cake and eat it too” BS I see being spewed by many fans. You were glad that the Patriots “won” the short-term grade with them winning in 2018 while JG tore his ACL...but now you rail and cry about the other side of the decision, which is that the Pats kept Brady at a very high cost in letting JG get away.

My issue was that they got shorted on the trade and should have included a conditional sweetener should they 49ers re-sign or franchise JG. I thought he was going to be a great QB based on his brief play in 2016, the rumblings about hw he was great in practice, and most importantly BB’s opinion. And I was actively arguing that the Browns should give up the 1st pick in the draft for him rather than a defensive end who won’t make a difference. So if these things were all true about JG, and SF extended him at a high price, he couldn’t at least get the Patriots a first round pick? That’s my beef with the trade personally, but I’m over it now, after spending too much time and energy arguing about how badly they misplayed their hand and cost themselves a huge draft haul that was badly needed (as we are seeing now.)

BB tried to move on from Brady a year earlier than most wanted him to but Kraft stepped in and prevented it from happening because Brady was like his son. I know what Brady means to the franchise and he has left his mark on it forever but he is a human and the body breaks down the older you get. BB had a plan for this all but was forced to trade JG by Kraft because you couldn’t keep Brady and JG on the same roster for much longer. Look at where the 49ers are at now, pretty much the favorite to be in the super bowl and maybe win it and even last year I knew they were going to be good. So Thanks Kraft, now the only contingency plan at QB is with Stidham who may be great or he may suck but at this point he is completely unproven. There was a point when Bledsoe passes the torch to Brady and now we’re getting near the point where Brady is going to have to pass the torch.

A) If you think you would have won SBVIII with Jimmy G, or better yet, even make it there, you couldn’t be more off the mark.

B) I’ll take TB12 over JimmyQ all day long, 100 out of 100.

C) You really think Jimmy G would have taken you any farther this year than TB12?!?!

What could've been? How about not making the SB in consecutive years. And not winning one championship. That's what could've been.

I wanted to dump Brady back after 2016. Belichick wanted to go with Jimmy G. Garapollo was electric in his starts, made others better, etc. Brady was getting older, etc. In the end, Brady proved those that wanted to trade him wrong as the Pats went to the "Pro Football Championship Game" (said in tv ad voice for commercials not licensed to use Super Bowl) and won 2 Super Bowls in 2016 and 2018.
Moving on from Brady in 2016 or 2017 was the wrong move - Belichick was wrong, many fans were wrong...but now the reapers' calling...Brady should move on and the franchise should start anew. Those of us that didn't hop on the Pats bandwagon in 2007 because they loved the Pats in Madden or fantasy football are used to crappy teams. We're ready for it and can handle. Its the fanboys on here that can't handle a losing season or two.
I remember in the late 80s/early 90s the home games were rarely on tv. I remember the absolute shock in 91 or 92 when the Hugh Millen lead Pats were 3-4 and hosting Elway and a great Denver team. Lots of buzz on tv and in the papers - pre internets, you young whippersnappers - Pats a chance to win or tie the game and Hugh Millen scrambled from like 10 yards out and got stopped and the clock ran out. My friends and I couldn't believe the Pats had just gone toe to toe with Denver and Millen played better than Elway that day. Pats had won a big game the week before. Even after losing to Denver we all thought the Pats had a chance. Season went south fast from there, but that's the schitt we had to root for back then - meaningful games after the first month.
Fast forward to Bledsoe, etc., and we were hopeful to have games that mattered in December and I'm pretty sure the Pats went into December "alive" for the playoffs every year after 1993.
Just think, if the league adds another playoff team per conference (which I REALLY hope they do), the Pats should be playing games that mean something every season, even if they do go with Stidham next season.

seriously doubt that Jimmy G could have done any better with this offense this year.

Damn, I knew Brady was old but I didn’t know he played in SB IV.

The incredible think about the recurring JG take is that completely ignore that the Patriots went for the last 3 sb and won 2. Brady was crucial and played in a elite level in those 03 years.
Even this year, that he wasn't fantastic, just imagine if JG had the same offensive weapons. Would he do better? I don't think so

I used to be a big Jimmy G homer, but after watching every game of his this season, I’m not that high on him anymore.

Like Brady, the 49ers were winning lots of games because of their defense suffocating opposing quarterbacks. Jimmy G is at his best when he has a very good ground game. But when he has to drop back repeatedly, he will take a sack if his first read isn’t open. He also has a really weak arm and I believe Minnesota will make him throw down the sidelines to beat them next weekend which Jimmy does not like to do.

He’s also been very lucky this season not getting more interceptions as he does throw some pretty stupid passes.

Minnesota is going to be a bad matchup for the 49ers as they have two bookends on defense that could harass Jimmy and they have linebackers that can cover the middle of the field where he likes to throw.

Agree...what 25 approx years we ARE HAVING...amazing...

Imagine having Jimmy and AB?

Gordon off narcotics.
