Bedard: Belichick “rumblings”

I don't think there is any way it is that low. It was said to be $10m-12.5m a couple years ago, around the time Gruden came back, but near as I can tell it's all conjecture other than that his first deal in 2000 was ~$2m/yr. But as it was extended and more shrouded in mystery, who knows? Seems like the generic web stories use the $12m number, which came from ESPN/Mortenson back in 2018.
Bill is $12m

You guys are blaming Kraft for no skill players at WR, zero TEs, an OL dependent on an injured rookie, mediocrity at RB, and predictable stale play calling? Really? The Offense absolutely sucked this year after multiple years of neglect and mismanagement. That's the story of 2019. Who do we blame for that? I blame Bill.
I blame 4 out of the 5 previous years going to the Super Bowl in a league that rewards parity.

Ok, when Bill is gone and we have our next coach here, let's re open the discussion and we'll see your thoughts then.

Yes Tom Brady has been the GOAT and created this dynasty. I'm very grateful to him. BB can suck it and go back to Cleveland and be a sub .500 coach again.

Is Bill going somewhere? I really would like to see Brady with a real offense and BB coaching with no TB to put the question to bed once and for all. I’m a Brady homer obviously and I think he made BB, not the other way around.

You should have a brain scan for that tumor asap.

WTF is that weird avatar? I can't unsee it. I want to, but can't.

Josh didn't toss that pick 6

No, but 3rd quarter results --> 0 pts.

Fourth quarter results --> 0 pts.

No hurry-up offense throughout the game.

4th & 5 (45-50 yrd line) with 4minutes left. Punt.

1st and 2yds. Used 2 Timeouts for 3 consecutive runs ---> FG.

I wonder what the market for Brady is going to look like. He can still play, but he's 43, he's coming off a declining season, he may have had some injuries like his throwing elbow, and he's been in one system his whole career. Even if you could guarantee a healthy Brady, it's unknown how long it would take to adjust fully to a completely new system with new concepts and new terminology after 20 years. It could take a year, and by then who knows if Brady even keeps playing.

For what it’s worth out here in New York, they’re all convinced by the end of the week the announcement will be made. I think it’s actually kind of funny that every fan base who has hated on him for so long would kill to have him be their coach.
Truer words were never spoken. Cowboys and Giants fans come to mind.

Bedard needs a colonoscopy on both ends.

Who was most responsible for winning SB 53? Who was responsible for shutting out KC in the first half in Arrowhead? I can go on. BB didn't make Brady. And Brady didn't make BB. Both are equally responsible for this dynastic run. No other head coach in the league would've gotten more out of this group.

Now, if you want to question some of Bill's free agent & draft decisions. I can understand that. But questioning him as a coach is ludicrous. No he isn't perfect. But this organization is worse off with anyone at coach besides BB.

I think it’s limited to “win now” teams who don’t have a QB they like or need a name to boost tix. So 4-5 teams max. Then again there is always an outlier.

Again who is to blame for this seasons poor ( for the pats) performance? If it weren’t for the laughingly weak AFCE I don’t think we would have even made the playoffs. We easily have the worst receiving corps in the NFL, no Tight ends whatsoever, mediocre RB, kind of a mess at OL. So homers on here act like oh well it’s just the breaks? BS. This was mismanagement and years of piss poor personnel decisions coming to a head.

And work for Gettelman? Yeah right.

Not. Going. Anywhere. Book it.

Gettleman still has his job because Giants don’t want him joining up with Rivera in Washington. He’d work FOR Belichick just like Bobby Grier did in 2000 until after the draft and be gone after if Belichick doesn’t respect his advice or loyalty.
