PFT: Brady "Unlikely" to Retire

Jones is a FA
Edelman took a beating and is going to be 34 next year
Andrews' illness of lung blood clots is something that returns
Hightower is getting on in years and may be due for a pay cut if BB wants to save money

The team needs a youth infusion at safety and linebacker.
Also needs backups at OL
& at least 2 or 3 new WRs and 2 new TEs and another young QB

By my estimate, we need 3 safeties, 2 backups on OL beyond Cajuste and Froholdt (Froholdt got bad reviews in camp and Cajuste's injury presents no guarantees), 2 new TEs, 2 WRs, 1 QB.

We need 10 new players at key positions to compete well again. I'm not saying that all these players are leaving this year, but that some of them are leaving, and that the rest have question marks either because of age, injury, high contracts, FA, or performance.
Why did I think we recently signed Jones to an extension...? Weird

Ok yeah I just checked. We signed him to an extension this fall..

I have never entertained or thought about Brady leaving the Pats....until last night. It felt like the end in NE, I don't think he has faith the offense can rebound in 1 offseason. I think Brady is going to further cement his legacy as a Cowboy.

McDaniels alone is not enough of an incentive for Brady to uproot his whole family at 43 and move to another region of the country, let alone for the Browns. Kitchens is gone over there, they are clearly sticking with Baker, and on top of that there have been reports of McDaniels eager to take the Browns HC job and work with Baker. Brady isn't going to that pile of dog$hit. OBJ will be traded, he's not happy there and he has made it clear.
Nothing is clear at this point. Brady wouldn't have to uproot his family to play 1 or 2 more seasons. The Browns have some great young talent on both sides of the ball. I don't think it will happen, but I would see that being a more desirable spot to play than LAC.

I'll respect and cheer whatever decision Brady makes.

After everything he's done here with New England, I'll root for him no matter who he plays for. He could quarterback the Jets for all I care, and I'll root for him.

No sh!t. He'll be back in a Patriots uniform. The team will fix the WR/TE positions, keep the defense mostly intact, and win #7 before Brady retires.

What status is uncertain for Jones, Edelman, Andrews, and Hightower?

Andrews wasn’t just around for off field events, he was on the practice field all the time. He’ll be back
I thought you could not attend practice while on IR.

Brady goes NO WHERE if the pats give him something to work with.

But if they dont can anyone blame him for jumping ship?

He doesn't need to put him self through another season like that

"if he doesn't find another suitor..."

That's why Brady said "hopefully unlikely."

There are slim pickins for suitors out there. Most teams have young QBs.

The questions are, "Are the Chargers moving on from Rivers? And is Brady a replacement for Rivers?"

& "Are the Bears giving up on Trubisky?"

If Rivers and Trubisky are the answers for those 2 teams, then I have no idea where Brady goes. The Redskins? Bottom feeder. Cincy? No way. Tampa if it moves on from Winston? Small possibility, but possible. Las Vegas? Not seeing it, they'll stick with Carr.

It really is just Chicago, Chargers, and maybe the Bucs.

Yikes  the Bucs: Brady throwing to Mike Evans or Chris Godwin. Really tough decision there over Harry and Sanu.

He can't participate in the practice, but I'm pretty sure he can stand by and be present.

I think it's very possible the Pats re-sign Antonio Brown in the off-season, once the league finalizes the matter -- or -- trade for Odell Beckham.

I won't care about what happened this year if we get to see Brady come back in a Patriots uniform at full health with a better supporting cast.

If either happens, good chance Brady returns.

Res-sign Brady is must. Get a freaking real TE is second must.

I hope brady moves on. He won't win jack here. Sanu, harry and a 34 year old Edelman?

It's not just that, it's the terrible drafting. Gazillion fast quick wrs in the draft and they pick one who can't move? Ignore the te position? Rely on 38 year old watson?

I would say good riddance if i were him.

What in the world are you talking about? He has won 3 of the last 5 SBs. Where could he win more than here?
