Seemed to me like it was more of a "The ball's in the Patriots' court" sort of answer.
End of the second half against Miami shows what BB is thinking. He sat on the ball rather than go for points. That shows he had no confidence.

I think the problem with this year’s team is that after the Baltimore game there was evidence that we’re a flawed team and the rest of the league, along with our players, started to believe it.

The offense looked as inept before the Baltimore game as they did after. The additional tape on the defense showed some holes but thats par for the course.

If I was Brady I would take the express train out of New England and flee this sinking BB ship. I do not like the way the organization has treated him in the last few years. Nickle and diming him with 1 year incentive contracts, surrounding him with 1 star level wide receiver in 20 years with this team, never giving him weapons despite his taking less on contracts than he was due for his entire career. Imagine this team with Manny Sanders when we offered a cheap tender contract to him? Or keeping Amendola? Or having a functional NFL TE?! Brady still has plenty in the tank. I want him to go to Dallas with that stud OL and weapons everywhere and see if he looks like he did in this horrific season. I ask everyone I know this question-did Tom Brady make Bill B, or did Bill B make Tom Brady and subsequently the Pats dynasty? If you think BB would be anything more than a sub .500 ex Browns HC then I think you are absolutely insane. Brady is the man and made this dynasty, and he's still got it. I hate seeing his skill wasted. Rant off...

We just won the super Bowl last year and went 12-4 this year, stop trolling
The SB last year and a 12-4 record this year does not mean BB can not and does not make bad coaching decisions. He was outcoached the last 2 weeks by his former assistant and former player and if you can not admit that, then you are in denial. The loss is painful...but it was not a very good year for Bill the GM or Bill the coach. Their 12-4 record is somewhat of a mirage, it was built by playing one of the weakest schedules in NFL history for the first 10 games.

This team's last two playoff losses have come largely because of terrible coaching decisions by Belichick. Instead of people claiming Brady's losing it, let's have those same people lay into BB for his "decline".

And he’s going to be 43. He’s not getting better.

Well how do we know this? His best target was doubled. Hard to judge his season with one of the worse wr corps
in the nfl and McDaniels had some spotty playcalling.

Who would of thought the buffalo bills would have balls 10x the size of the Patriots today, playing on the road...

Yes, who “would of” thought

He was a shadow of his former self at the end too. His blocking was most missed

This team is alot better with Gronk this season than Watson or Lacosse.

My take too.

Odd how revealing it was
I am glad he did say "i would love to be back with the patriots buts not in my hands" explicitly. Didnt put BB or Kraft as the ones to blame if he leaves and just left it at that.

Belichick was a ****ty coach for two consecutive weeks. When's the last time that happened?

I'm very baffled why Wise was in instead of Butler for so many plays... Butler is a tackle and could use his weight. I'll be curious to see how many snaps he got. Is he injured or stink against the run?

We scored 13 points ... Same as the SB... We knew we had issues with the run defense last yr and didn't really resolve it... Where's Mike Pennel... Cowart was kept instead but inactive.

How do we know that he’s not getting better? It’s called biology. He’ll be 43.

AFC Championship Appearance:
2011 New England Patriots vs Baltimore Ravens
2012 Baltimore Ravens vs New England Patriots
2013 Denver Broncos vs New England Patriots
2014 New England Patriots vs Indianapolis Colts
2015 Denver Broncos vs New England Patriots
2016 New England Patriots vs Pittsburgh Steelers
2017 New England Patriots vs Jacksonville Jaguars
2018 New England Patriots vs Kansas City Chiefs
These represents a lot of games played over the last 10 years. 21 games plus over the regular season 16 games. This has taken it's toll on some of the players and coaches. They needed a break. It hurts less to lose in the wild card round. I am actually over it already.
Plus a really good first round pick

I refuse to ever dump on Belichick, Brady or Edelman. After what they have brought us, they have built up an eternity of good will from me. You can’t take the good, of which there has been an insane amount without some bad too. Edelman dropped a key pass, but he was also directly responsible for three SB’s so he gets a pass from me.

Edelman is a friggin trooper just being out there, he was like a walking hospital ward and still performing. No way I blame this on him.

This year was weird. The Boogeymen were fun to watch at the beginning of the season but the offense has just been painful to watch all season. Many of the games have not been fun because you just felt constantly like they were not living up to their potential.

I don’t buy into the AB Cult and I don’t think our receivers were that horrible. I think Harry has a future and a couple of the others seemed under utilized.

Brady looked off several times this year although early on the offensive line was a nightmare. He played better tonight, but there was even one key play where they rushed 3 and got pressure and when you have that you just have to say WTF.

I don’t know if it’s McDaniels, Brady or the receivers but all I know is it didn’t work. It seemed like they were on the verge of getting their act together a few times and then it just fell apart again.

We are spoiled rotten as fans, 31 other fan bases would trade places with us in a heart beat. But even the Patriots can’t win them all, no one can.

As long as we have Belichick, I will have faith. I’m sure everyone will crap all over him as well but anyone who does is just a complete and utter moron. They should be kissing the ground he walks on for the joy he has brought us. But in this day and age people are so fickle. There are many who don’t deserve this team. For the rest of us it’s been a great run and I think it continues next year.

Sorry to see Tom go out this way ....Belichick and kraft gave him nothing weapon wise, and a sh!tbag offense.....BB blew the draft (as always) and did nothing other than AB in FA (which was great while it lasted).....I hope that Tom goes to a loaded team with an owner and coach that are committed to winning a SB....meanwhile if BB stays....will be interesting to see how he fares without the brilliance and leadership of TFB.....will he revert back to the coach that was chased out of Cleveland....or can he take another QB and prove that HE is the genius behind all the SB’s?!?!.....My money is on Tom Fcking Brady....The GREATEST QB AND FOOTBALL PLAYER OF ALL TIME!!!! Thanks for everything Tom and God Bless!!

I think he just said he doesnt know what the future holds. Can mean anything, not necessarily leaving the pats. Also which of the other 31 teams suddenly becomes a SB with him coming in ? Its kinda easy in the NBA . I dont know what other team will appeal to brady . Broncos maybe ?Colts? I dont think the chargers ownership is that appealing but who knows.
I hadn't even thought about the Colts.
This is a Super Bowl team if Brown and Thomas are on the squad.
Not just a SB team but the runaway favorite.

Well how do we know this? His best target was doubled. Hard to judge his season with one of the worse wr corps

We watched him play for 17 games. He’s still good but he’s not the player he was even 2-3 years ago.

And he’s going to be 43. He’s not getting better.
This is a sad fact. Once decline sets in, it accelerates. One reason Brady looked better tonight is he wasn’t pressured much. But when the pocket gets dirty now, he really struggles. Pressure bothers him more than before and affects his throws more than before.

The defense was built to stop the pass and a tram like the chiefs the Baltimore went old school and Titans too. Bb will have to build for Baltimore
