We all know that Belichick will do whatever he can to take away the opponents best player and Derrick Henry is by far the best player on the Titans - Belichick will stack the box to try and slow this animal down and hope that the secondary can do something they didn't do on sunday, thats cover their man one on one and hope to limit big plays - that will decide this game,While Henry is a pure beast I don't think he will be the top factor in a win or a loss - it will be AJ Brown's performance or maybe a dangerous Corey Davis that will decide this game
.
Like fitzpatrick, it will come down to tannehill making plays vs our cover zero blitzes . That stuff has not worked in the last few weeks. Josh Allen missed a few throws, the chiefs hit crosses and miami showed as well how to beat it. This patriot team's confidence is shaken and a few early completions will not help their cause. They need some initial breaks to go their way to start feeling confident.

I didn't think we would get there with all the hype for most of the year but we are getting to the point now where people are underplaying how good the defense on this team is. The wildcard is whether we will get a similarly efficient offense as we did against the Bills or if we get another appearance by the dud squad.

The Titans and KC are both winnable games if we play like we did against the Bills even if the latter is at Arrowhead. The Ravens game will have a much smaller margin for error but there are so many things that can go wrong for them in terms of turnovers or injuries until then that it makes no sense to worry about that.

Hell, lets see how they handle the pressure of expectations against the Bills/Texans in 2 weeks.

One game at a time.
Confidence of the team is the wild card here. Will it fold if things start going south or fight ? We don't know. Especially if they were expecting to rest this week .Its hard to figure out the pulse of this team. The 2006 team was shorthanded but it fought hard. This is ready for one last hurrah or ready to fade , who knows.

I think the titans win. Gun to my head I'm picking them. That being said I could easily see this game going either way. Should be a fun one.

I have absolutely no idea why so many are picking the Titans. This is a 9-7 team that has largely beaten up on crap teams and beaten one team (KC) with a winning record. And they don’t get the benefit of the doubt like the Patriots, who have been big game hunters, rather than pretenders, for years. They wouldn’t be a playoff team in the NFC and wouldn’t normally be a playoff team in the AFC with this record.

Gilmore is going to be a monster after that performance, and the entire defense is going to be playing with a lot of emotion. McCourty’s return will be huge, and I like this secondary against Tannehill, who can scramble but is definitely more of a classic pocket passer. I like the Patriots to curb stomp the Titans in this one. I don’t care if the Dolphins just won at Gillette. This is an elimination game and the Pats aren’t letting the dynasty slip away like this. They may not win the whole thing, but you be sure there will be one last “oh sht!” game where all the doubters pull out their hair and crap their pants after all the guarantees they made in writing off the Patriots AGAIN.

Have you seen who 9 of our 12 wins are against? You can't throw that stone when you live in this glass house.

I did address that quite clearly.

This is like the houston game. We technically shouldve beaten houston but are so inconsistent that its hard to be all in on the patriots. Titans meanwhile at least on tape and #s are much better since tannehill took over so its quite logical for some to pick the titans.

I think we're going to whoop their ass 33-7.

I get the picking of the Titans despite the 9-7 record: The Titans were two teams this year. Nobody in their right mind would pick Titans 1.0 helmed by Mariota. It's fair to say the 7-3 Titans 2.0 with Tannehill (still can't believe I wrote that) are a very legit threat. AJ Brown in particular became a scary weapon once he and Tannehill started clicking.

A wet night could also favor the Titans in that the Pats may dial back on the cover 0 if the CBs have poor footing and play more vanilla coverages. What made the Pats D so deadly most of this season may be left in the holster.

All that being said, give me the Pats. I think Tannehill in his first playoff game, at night in poor weather in a hostile environment is a huge hurdle. As long as the Pats don't let Henry bail Tannehill out and don't turn the ball over to the Titans I like their chances.

Regards,
Chris

I want to see Brady stand in the pocket and make some good throws, he’s been dancing around and throwing it away, throwing over the head of his targets and throwing very stupid picks. The dynasty lives through Brady so I want to see a better performance

This might be an ok game to play less cover 0 anyways. Their pass pro isn’t great so we could generate pressure with 4, and teams have had lots of success vs our man blitzes recently. Plus some zone could help us defend the run and the PA bootleg crossers game
