REISS: Ranking Tom Brady's Top 10 Playoff Performances

I believe they did consistently move the ball, but yes he threw two INTs. The reason the Falcons were so gassed is that the Patriots had long drives that didn't result in points.

Look at these first half drives:

1. 5 1/2 minutes, 9 plays, 41 yards.
2. 5 plays, 53 yards, Legarette Blount fumble in field goal position.
3. 6 1/2 minutes, 12 plays, 52 yards, INT in field goal position
4. 2 1/2 minutes, 11 plays, 52 yards, FG

That's 200 yards in one half, 20 minutes of possession to Atlanta's 10.

The two turnovers hurt, but also the defense playing very badly hurt too.

Atlanta had a 71 yard drive and a 65 yard drive, both in under 2 minutes of possession. Like slicing through butter.

For some reason it sticks out in my head as worse than that... probably because I was feeling miserable at the time :D But thank you, that's a useful recap.

I re-watch the 4th quarter of the Chiefs game quite a bit so it currently sits as my all-time favorite. I think it truly epitomizes everything that Brady is all about. He may not always have the pretty stat line and the game may not go as planned but when the chips are down and a score is absolutely needed he rarely disappoints. In frigid conditions and basically down to Edelman and a banged up Gronk all Brady does is lead 3 straight must have TD drives in enemy territory to bring the Pats back. And he does all this while some nutcase is trying to shine a laser in his eyes. 99% of NFL football fans were resigned to the fact Brady would lead the Pats to a score when they won the toss in OT. No other QB in NFL history garners that level of confidence (or resignation) than Tom %@#^ Brady.

So top of his game 12 months ago and a washed up has-been now according to Pats Forum illuminati.

Also, Brady only threw one interception, not two.

So many moments. I think the performance in the first SB is underrated. Numbers be damned. Young nobody comes from nowhere to shock the world.

I also very much enjoyed the beatdown of PITT in the 2003 playoffs (JAN 2004). Long pass to Deion.
And that bye bye wave from Branch....priceless

The playoff game with the Titans in Jan 04 should be somewhere on the list. It was only a score of 17/14 however it was one of the coldest games ever and every time NE scored the Titans also scored. AV field goal was the difference, I remember watching the game and enjoyed it immensely even though there were heart stopping moments every time the Titans evened the score .

I read this four times thinking you were somehow talking about tomorrow's game on Jan 4 against the Titans.

We won that game. So then, tomorrow......

Jan 13 2008 vs Jags, been mentioned already, 26-28 92.9 completion percentage. They were just in the way.

Also one of the toughest performances was that game against Von Miller and the Broncos. He got clobbered that game and kept getting up and coming at them. If not for a cheap Talib pick on Welker and an egregious no call on Gronk being molested, that game would of ended very differently. Funny, that game pretty much started the hack a gronk strategy which went on the rest of his career. Denver took a page out of the kuechly final play.

I have a hard time listing 51 as his greatest playoff performance when half the reason they were down 28-3 in the first place is because he threw two picks (one for a TD) and couldn't consistently move the ball for the first 40 minutes of the game.

One INT. The other turnover was a Blount fumble. They did consistently move the ball. They just turned it over or died in the RZ. The total plays at the half was something like 43-18 Patriots. If they don't have those two turnovers and a holding call they would have scored a lot more in the first half and that game might have been a runaway.

Sorry that I wasn't clearer. I meant the Titans game in 2004, one of the coldest games ever, we won but the Titans tied the game twice. It was a very enjoyable game, of course I was in my toasty living room watching it, not sure how uncomfortable it was for fans at the game.

I think even Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware came out impressed and gained significant respect for TB12 even in the loss cause of his toughness.

1. 28-3
2. Legion of boom
3. Last year Arrowhead

Maybe it's a tad of recency bias, but knowing the level of mental focus and fortitude Brady displayed in these 3 games puts them squarely at the top. He grinded with veteran guts and guile, to me it just makes it more intense and special.

Perhaps Seattle #1 knowing legacy was on the line.

I hate to say it, but that’s not so crazy. Look at Gronkowski in Super Bowl 52 and then Super Bowl 53. A lot can happen in a year. That said, I’m not betting against Brady to rebound and come roaring back because the man might not be human.
