Derrick Henry is this year's NFL Rushing Leader. The Pats have to contain this guy in order to beat Tennessee.

1. Derrick Henry won the Heisman at Alabama and is said to be one of Nick Saban's favorite players ever. Hard worker. Freak athlete. Leader.
2. Clip above shows he runs like a super fast Jerome Bettis or a young Marshawn Lynch. He's huge at 6'3 250 pounds but has breakaway speed.
3. If he gets any momentum it's extremely difficult to stop him. Gap control is absolutely key on defense. It takes 3-4 guys to bring Henry down.
4. Henry also has elite balance for a massive guy. Patriot defender sound tackling will be essential to victory.

I am predicting a low scoring game where the Titans run a ton, and the Pats want to play ball control too.

Load the box (if you have to). This is where having Gilmore at his best is so important. If they can hold dalls to 6 in bad weather I’m confident they can keep this O in check.

not betting against the GOAT at home with a great D. Even if they lost 2 at home in the second half. The Patriots are winning this football game

Load the box. Their WRs are good though. We have to play the inside slants and in-cuts. One Patriots defensive flaw is our corners always play outside leverage, leaving inside passes wide open.

load the box only if you have to. Not preferable but the pats have a good enough secondary to employ the option if necessary. We know BB is going to do everything in his power not to get beat by Henry

I'm getting deja vu nightmares of the 2009 wildcard Ravens disaster game.

why? That ravens defense had hall of fame players on D. Id be surprised if we got dominated like that. The titans D is average. And we can get after tannehill

Starts with that Guy!

I've always loved this guy. Actually reminds me a bit of ****erson. He's so smooth, so big it always looks like he's running upright.
Runs with some soft feet that allow for really sharp cuts for a guy his size. Very patient. Sets up his blocks nicely, let's his OL do the hard lifting. +Contact balance.

I always thought he'd fit in great here. Tennessee has to want to get away from Lewis next year & make him a true feature with some help from the draft.

Yea he scares me. He could easily put up 150 yards on us.

FWIW the weather for Sat nite (NOAA).. looks like a drizzly cool night.. not sure it favors anyone.

OTOH have been somewhat impressed with what Tannerhill has done in Tenn.

Rain before 5am, then rain likely, possibly mixed with snow. Patchy fog before 8pm. Low around 32. Light northeast wind becoming north 5 to 9 mph in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Is this "D" actually "great" OR are they paper tigers?
They looked great early during the season against ill-equipped opponents.
At this point in the season there is a lot of film on them.

we were missing Welker. Without a security blanket, TB12 was unable to get anything going.

Not sure about this. If Henry jogs untouched for a 75 yard TD on the first play of the game then I will agree.

We won't stop Henry hope to slow him down best case. I still see it 27-17 titans

I’ve never seen Belichick shut down a team that’s powered by a running back. This game is over.

As feared, Henry is a beast. 110 yards and 1 TD in the first half. And Elandon Roberts has ZERO business playing any snaps on defense. Jamie Collins has repeatedly been abused as well.

.

Henry only has 106 yards; we’re fine...

Wrong thread

Kudos to Henry. 180 yards rushing on his birthday. I knew we were in trouble seeing Elandon Roberts play defense .
