LOL at the delusional, ass-kissing homers who gave the OP a Dislike.

The truth hurts sometimes, I know, but...

...not only are the Patsies Not going to the SB, but they're NOT even going to the AFCC.

(and that's only IF they can even beat the Titties in the WC.)

I guess going to 8th straight AFC Championship games got boring! We're all going to be devastated not making it 9 straight!

So based on the article should the Pats even suit up?? Where is the sound bite from the 2001 AFCCG “Despite the prognostications of gloom and doom the Patriots have decided to play” or something very similar.

Oh no, "prognostications of doom!"

Maybe bc the team LAID AN EGG at home w a bye on the line? Should the writers be farting rainbows?
No, but if that's the case then he is clearly voluntarily sharting his pants before walking into the bathroom.

Mmm I can practically taste playoff glory, the team has a deep playoff run in it. To hell with the haters.

Love the pic in your sig? You must've just changed to that recently otherwise not sure how I'm only seeing it now.

Hopefully they make shirts of these or something.

Now there's an idea for reality TV - Shart Tank!

How did you hack Steve's article and what have you done with him?

One game at a time. The 1985 Patriots made it from the Wild Card to the Super Bowl. A little help from the Buffalo Bills would be nice this year.

And, we care what this guy, Steve whatever-his-name-is, thinks because...?

@Steve Balestrieri does a good job here every week and with the podcast. Cut him some slack after that performance on Sunday. The team was flat, the crowd was flat, and the coaching staff went into this one thinking the Dolphins would roll over.

I disagree with his statement about the playoffs. It's one game at a time now.

I expect a completely different situation on Saturday night. The crowd will be oiled and out for blood, for one thing. The players will feed off that. Belichick will be focused and the defense will be looking to hammer the Titans after making Fitzpatrick look like the second coming of Otto Graham.

Man, you and the OP sure look smart, figuring out that after losing to the Dolphins and losing the 2 seed, the Pats aren't looking better than all other teams.

That said, the OP is incorrect, in that the Patriots have a game this coming weekend. They have this game because the Patriots aren't eliminated yet.

Patting yourself on the back by proclaiming the equivalent of "Get real, it's over" when there's only a probability of, say, 5%, means you're just better than most at giving up.

I do hope that the OP had a good time watching the comeback against Atlanta on tape. Doesn't deserve to have been there for it live.

Tell ya what, Cap, why don't you -- and he -- save yourself the tsurris and check out now. Also, don't bother crowing about the 95% odds you embraced... it's really easy to do.

Whereas, to care about your team and its games even when the win seems unlikely is hahd.

After the next loss is the time to declare the season over. Then, or when the Patriots have won it all.

Ultimately, odds don't exist and success is binary. Just as prior to last week, two outcomes are possible. Either the Pats win it all, or they do not.

To use one more example, the same was true of the Gintz in the 07 season. Lots of us were psyched to have to only beat the Gintz to win that SB. Chances were, we would.

This team wasn't 9-7. That Gintz team was.

But you go 'head and quit now. Chances are, that's the right move.

Why ?

It is on him to keep his emotions together and stay rational instead of giving into hyperbole. If he can't do that maybe he shouldn't be the one who writes articles (or host podcasts) here.

still not a big fan of the guy, but i hope you're right about Sunday...if this is the end for Brady, it shouldn't be "One and done in a Wild Card game in Foxboro."

I kind of struggle to see the value of the guy if he's just going to provide the same hyperbolic emoting as random game day poster here.

Things looking bad isn't the basis for throwing a pissbaby tantrum and trying to spin at as being the smartest guy in the room instead of just another reactionary fan after one 'Gansett too many.

As usual things are not as bad they seem after losses and also never as excellent as they seem when we win. Well, except when you win the SB because then **** it who cares.

Point being people that write columns should have a solid level of emotional indifference. I am not asking for robots without emotions but those 16-0 or "its all over" columns just eat away any credibility for writers.

Especially since I'm 99% sure they all wrote the same thing in the 2018 season.

That's cold. @Steve Balestrieri did take a post as a columnist for PatsFans.com. It's not like he's supposed to be objective or anything.

His audience, for better or worse, is us, @luuked . Over 50% of the subscribers have avatars that are Brady, Belichick, Gillette Stadium, Flying Elvis or Pat the Patriot. The rest of us are sporting other homeboy images or farm animals smoking cigarettes.

Whats your point ? Showing incompetence to be rational as a writer is fine because this is just an amateurish site anyway ?

He is not a poster who created a silly thread but actually writes columns. There is a difference in expectations.
