Chad O Shea fired

I think the speculation that he was fired in order to promote jerry schuplinski (and prevent mcD from hiring him) might be spot on...he and McD went to the same college and probably have a close relationship.
Yeah but it doesn't work that way. They are over thinking it. Unless the contract is up they can deny permission unless it's to be Head Coach.

I don't know, I think BoB did a great job. It wasn't his fault that Gronk got dinged up, Welker couldn't catch that pass but Manningham could...
...or that Brady didn't look at a wide-open Edelman on 3rd/goal early in the 2nd quarter and had to settle for 3 instead of 7...

Is that new? Or am I remembering wrong?

Because I'm reasonably positive that the rule is that they cannot prevent conversations about any potential promotion, not just head coach.

You may be right, but at the end of the day, we got 3 super bowls with Josh as OC and 0 with BOB. Can't argue with the results...
No. The upgrades on D helped too

Wow. Stunning

That often backfires. Kitchens & Garrett : two offensive minds that “needed to be kept”.

Chad O'Shea's experience game-planning in the red zone could only help, so I say bring him in.

The Dolphins also fired Dave DeGuglielmo. Please do not bring him in.

There is a boundary order the Pats have with Googs. He cannot enter the town of Foxborough.

Here's an article. It's from 2015 but references the change:

"Years ago, league rules prevented teams from blocking an assistant coach from getting a promotion elsewhere. The rules have since changed, allowing a team from declining to give permission to, for example, a quarterbacks coach to interview for an offensive coordinator position elsewhere."

Fair or not, plenty of teams prevent assistants from leaving

I think Chad was dumped to save Schuplinski...who is far more valuable. Not a fan of Chad the OC. Would rather bring back Weis...fight me.

Also not a fan of cherry picking stats. "But the last 9 weeks were great" ... BS. That's like saying so-and-so had a ****ty day rushing if you take away the long runs. Take that crap somewhere else.

BB is not hiring this guy back unless it's to scrub his personal bathroom on Tuesdays.
