How much do losses affect you?

When the Patriots lose a game, it makes me bummed in the moment, but I am able to quickly dissacociate from it having any meaningful impact on me. If the Patriots won the next 30 Super Bowls, it will be fun entertainment but it won't make me a better person or measurably improve any meaningful areas of my life besides a hobby.
It’s a little like the expectations I have, let’s say, for a movie that’s coming out that’s getting a lot of media hype and great word of mouth and then I go and it sucks (Frozen 2) or is better than you could have hoped for (Little Women).

Depends on the loss.

I can't complain much when we get out butts kicked by a better team. The Philly Super Bowl a couple of years ago didn't sting too badly. I'm also less effected when we suck out of the gates against a contender (Houston, KC).

I get pretty ornery when we lose to one of the teams I despise most - Baltimore, Denver, NY Giants, Miami.

My wife takes the kids out for a few hours when we lose in December to Miami.

Alot of it is the elbow imo. Get him healthy.. build the line.. get some tightends... Imagine if we had Deebo Samuel... We need to bring in more wrs.. would be nice to get some speed
I agree he might be injured, but two thought come to mind.

1) His play didn't start declining THIS year, He was similar last year. 2) Flame away if you want, but Belichick always says he does what is right for the team, but how is playing an injured QB helping the team or even right for the team ?

I said after the 2018 and 2019 drafts, Belichick isn't doing Brady any favors. TWO straight GREAT TE drafts, virtually ignored. 2019 draft, one of the greatest WR drafts in years, granted, they drafted one in the 1st round, but is he even the right one ? He seems to have ZERO explosiveness, and that's what this team needs. And why not double up on WR or even triple up. Your chances of one of them making an impact goes up if you have 2 or 3 of them. Mecole Hardman and DK Metcalf are exactly what this team needed, speed and explosiveness. Hardman adds exactly what the Pats needed, because he's a great return man as well.

Instead, you trade up for a slow DB in the 2nd round (AGAIN !) who hardly plays, when they had TWO 2nd round picks. Guess who went in the slots the Patriots had, Hardman and Metcalf.

So Belichick certainly isn't doing Brady any favors, but a good QB can succeed with crappy receivers, look at what Wentz has WR wise, so I don't want to hear any excuses.

I keep things in perspective. I'm often frustrated during the game but am fine after it. For example, I appreciate what Miami did and that the refs were only a minor part of the story (for a change). I could enjoy the other football games during the rest of the day.

That's not how it was 10 years ago, but it's not because of more titles; it's just because I've changed. I follow football more closely and it bothers me less when the Patriots lose. It is what it is.

Losses were easier before Kraft/Bledsoe/Brady ...

Because we mostly sucked ... but I'm over it in a few hours.

SB 2007/08 made me realize that depression because of a sports loss is silly. It's just sports and entertainment. It shouldn't have affected me like that. Changed my attitude towards how I view sports after that.

On a scale of 1-10, yesterday's loss was a 2. It sucked, we should have won, but Fitz made great throws on tightly covered guys. Hats off to them.

After 28-3 I quit feeling bad about anything football-related for more than like 10 minutes.

Beating the Rams was just gravy.

When the Pats lose it puts me in a horrible mood. And of course, there are plenty of trolls who like talking smack when we lose. But I usually laugh at it all. In general I feel great after reminding myself of two decades of dominance by my Boston teams. 6 Super Bowls, 4 WS wins, 1 NHL and 1 NBA title. Boston is truly America's real title town so I don't go full doomtard like my dad and older New England fans who never experienced winning since the 70s B's teams or the 1918 Bosox, LOLz.

I take losses pretty hard, if they’re bad losses that affect our chances going forward a lot. So playoff losses, quite hard.

I think about the pats a lot. I’m on here, I talk constantly about them with friends who are and are not pats fans, and I think about football out of season a lot.

When you realize that the moments that transpire within the few hours when a game takes place totally dictate the results of a team that stand for months and months until next season, and forever with how we see the team, it can be tough to swallow. Like I’m in a worse mood today than last Monday for sure, because I think/talk about the pats a lot and everything about it is less fun than it was a week ago.

My mood goes with my teams at times, which isn’t logical in the sense that I have no impact on the outcomes, but to me it’s still logical because my teams are a big part of my life and what I enjoy and devote time to, so I am incredibly happy when things go well and pretty sad when they don’t.

When the Patriots lose, I avoid sports media at all cost for about 3 days.

I don’t need to listen to idiots like Tony Maz, Lou Merloni, Gary Tanguay, Adam Jones, & Tom Giles second guess Belichick’s decisions.

I cant stand listening to them after a win let alone a loss. They try and make you feel the same, bad, either way

Well said, I used to be bummed out after losses but now I just come on here read all the asinine comments and I chill out pretty fast.

Experiencing some pretty sad life moments helps put a lot of things in perspective.

I was wondering today if there was something going on with the WR's gloves ...
It just seemed other wordly out there ... something a bit different.

I was thinking on that last play the find had for a TD... isn't this why we drafted joejuan and had ching on him instead... Granted if the fins ran we would be light

Don't listen to these mindless lemmings either way.

6 championships, a twelve win season and we are in the playoffs again. Losses don’t bother me as long as we play good football and compete.

"All good things must come to an end", so I've heard. Things I have no control over? I tend to leave the hand wringing to the more experienced. The past 19 years have been great........ :)
I hope the Pats can continue their winning culture.

Pats receivers need to buy those same gloves.

Why are you listening to them when they win lol..?

HER THOUGHTS:
Sunday night - I thought he was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a bar to have a drink. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment.

I asked him what was wrong - he said, "Nothing."

I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said it had nothing to do with me and not to worry.

On the way home I told him that I loved him, he simply smiled and kept driving.

I can't explain his behavior; I don't know why he didn't say, "I love you, too."

When we got home I felt as if I had lost him, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore.

He just sat there and watched TV.; he seemed distant and absent.

Finally I decided to go to bed. About 10 minutes later he came to bed and to my surprise he responded to my caress and we made love, but I still felt that he was distracted and his thoughts were somewhere else.

I decided that I could not take it anymore, so I decided to confront him with the situation but he had fallen asleep.

I started crying and cried until I too fell asleep.

I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else.

My life is a disaster.

HIS THOUGHTS:
Today the Patriots lost, but at least I got laid.
