This is a copy-cat league. Ravens are surging.

Is it time to copy them?

I haven’t looked into the salary numbers, but would Nick Foles be a possibility? (If Brady retires) We have a championship caliber defense.

I don't see JAX eating 18.75M in pro-rated SB money. But that's just me..

Do you think they’ll pay top of the line money for 2 guards? Not saying he isn’t worth it, but I’ve kind of viewed Mason and Thuney as either/or. I guess they do have the luxury of Wynn being on a rookie deal and Cannon being relatively cheap for a veteran starting tackle, so they’re not spending big money there. They did pay big money to Light and Mankins at the same time before so there is precedent.

Mason's $6M isn't Top of the line money. In fact, Mason's $6M salary was outside the top 10 for Right Guards.

The top 5 salaries/bonuses (no SB proration) at LG are for 2020 are as follows:
Andrew Norwell - 11.5M
Rogers Saffold - 10M
Ali Marpet - 10.625M
Joel Bitonio - $9M
Zach Fulton - $7M

That's an average of $9.625M.

If you look at the Overall Cap Average for those 5, then you're at $10.78M.

Yes, I expect Thuney's OCA to be closer to Andrew Norwell's 14.5M .

Without clarity on Brady and his contract there is not much to discuss. Thats about 50% of the cap space right there.
No it isn’t. You can guarantee him 50m and make 3rd year a dummy one. Cap hit would be under 20 first two years. 39m in 2022 on last year of Stidham’s rookie contract

Bengals may end up drafting a once in a generation type QB. Roethlisberger will be back. The Browns will be better coached. If Baltimore doesn't win the SB this year, and I don't think they will because of KC, they are going to take a big step back imo. What they are doing isn't sustainable. The big question is whether they get figured out in the next month. Or, next season. But they are going to get figured out.

They caught lightning in a bottle. From getting Jackson at the end of RD1, on the cheap. To injuries, ball bouncing there way & completely catching the league off guard. From a physical, personnel & discipline standpoint the NFL just wasn't ready.
Huge congrats to them for implementing a system seemingly in 2 years. They were heading this way with Roman but Jackson falling in their laps was a godsend. Not only one of greatest runners to play the game but he's been outstanding passing the ball. He's been arguably the best running threat this year along with being incredibly efficient through the air. We've just never seen that before. As pats fans we've had our fair share of "lightning in a bottle" type years & spoiled beyond belief. Good for them, tip of the cap. They still have a long way to go in uncharted waters though. And however our season ends I trust Bill get us rolling again. Hopefully with Brady.

Few #'s below. I believe he sat 4 or 5 4th quarters as well? Jesus 1206/7 TD on 176 for 6.9 per from your QB isn't supposed to happen.

2019 Passing TD %
1. Lamar Jackson • BAL 9.0%
2. Ryan Tannehill • TEN 7.5%

*Edit*
**** should have noted in the modern era.
All time there's only been 3 players to hit 9.0% or higher for TD%. Manning is tied with Y.A. at 6th. Rodgers & Jackson are tied for 15th
Peyton Manning (28) 9.9% 2004 IND
Lamar Jackson (22) 9.0% 2019 BAL
Aaron Rodgers (27) 9.0% 2011 GNB

I would like to see sign slater and d McCourty to short term deals.

I would also like to see Shelton resigned as well.

thuney and van noy need to do what is best for their family and take top dollar and go.

Ebner and bethel should be signed for reasonable money.

Big decisions to make after this season... short of making a run and a competitive AFC title game/SB appearance, lots of questions for Krafty Bob and his dusty checkbook ..

Does he yearn for another year of wet disgusting kisses on Brady's cheek after wins over Cleveland and Cincinnati, or does he cut loose the guy w all the answers to the test (who couldn't beat a 4 win team at home today)....

Are you taking into consideration that Brady has 6.75M in dead money that needs to be accounted for?

No that’s already on books. My reply was to guy who said extending TB12 would eat half of remaining cap space

A $50M -$60M contract would take between 30-40% of the Pats cap space. Even broken up over 3 years. While not 50%, it's still extremely substantial.

I think that he’s talking about Brady accounting for approximately 25m of an available 50m (for 2020), and to me that seems reasonable. After all, you wouldn’t be signing him to a multi-year deal. It would be a one year thing or what they’d refer to as “year to year.”

He won't get a contract that's longer than a year. Otherwise he would be on that contract already.

While some people here think it will be fine to tank after Brady I have not seen a single thing in BBs entire tenure to make me think he would entertain that thought.

It's possible Bill pisses off Tom and he walks. It's also possible Tom spurns Kraft and Bill
Or Brady wants to come back and BB says “Thanks, but no thanks, Tom”. If that possibility doesn’t enter your (the collective you) mind after watching his play this year, your Brady worshipping is clouding your judgement.

Hard pass.

Obviously we need to lock down some wideouts if we intend to roll with Brady.

What are your hope and who is available?

This is easily the worst offense we've had under the brady years and I think its obvious we need to lock some down.

AB is available I think but need to check with Herr Goodell

I'm hopeful Brady will be re-signed. I believe he was injured and I think he can still play well with better personnel on offense. With Edelman injured and doubled on top of it, the Pats had nothing.

If Gronk comes back, that could help sway Brady to give it another go. So much cascades down from Gronk, from pass blocking, to run blocking, to safety outlet for Brady, to opening things up for other receivers.

Mccourtys are probably gone. Devin almost retired last year, and I don't see Jason coming back without Devin, especially given JC Jackson and J Jones are pushing for more time. Hopefully JoeJuan can step up, I think Chung's effort is unquestionable but it'd be nice to have a 6'3" actual cornerback to help out on those TEs.

I'm still hopeful of another run or two. I don't think the team is that far off. Defense has potential to be pretty good again even given FA losses and Gronk and a WR could be enough. It's doable.
Agree with everything here. But I'm convinced Gronk is done. Some of the comments he's made just leads me to believe he doesn't miss the grind.

Could he play for a less demanding coach? Possible but only if Tom goes too. Just my opinion obviously.

Thuney is much better than Mason IMO. Looks like they jumped the gun with the wrong guy and hopefully doesn't bite them in the ass.

Injuries. Lack of talent. If you can't see that than you are missing it.

Any current HC who was in the NE system, whether as a coach or player, seems to have some success against Bill.

They said it during the game, that BB’s regular season record against his former assistants was 12-11. That was before today’s loss. And it presumably doesn’t include Vrabel who would make it 12-13.

You are “forgetting” to add Brady to the equation. Former coaches seem to have an unusual amount of success against Belichick AND BRADY.
