Josh McDaniels News and Rumors

I AM just currious what really has changed McDaniels mind to abandon job in Indy. What BB told or promised him and how IT will affect Josh' decision after the end of this season.
Ownership??

How can we tell the difference between news and rumors?

I'll miss Josh if he leaves.

It seems tome that Josh might stay around if he knows he gets to take over from Bill. I know that his wife has stated a couple times that she doesn't want to move again, and likes it in New England.

With Bill & Brady leaving at some point, New England still has a solid foundation and it'd be a lot more like to have success under Josh, with the current crop of assistants than with an outsider moving in.

I think it's pretty obvious Bill is gonna pass the HC position to Steve Belichick when it's all said n done.

Regardless of who may leave , I would hope there is a succession plan already in place. I cant see the coaching side of the team just fall down given the amount of stability over the recent years. Yes, coaches have left in recent years but it has not been a major issue

If I was an owner : I want both. I think they are a combo that greatly enhances one another. Give them 5-6 years each. Throw money. And back the F off.
Jerry Jones agrees! :p

Can we get this bad boy an appreciation thread ASAP?

Remember how the media said McDaniel's head coaching career outside of NE was over after he ditched the Colts.

Never believe the media. They are notorious liars with an agenda. Believe what your eyes tell you.

The guy from Baylor has been successful in taking programs that have stunk and making them better. Did it at Temple and at Baylor.
Have to see if he can take it to the pro level....doesn’t work for everyone....(Saban, Kelly etc)

Isn't there a timing issue given the playoff run? Can teams talk to McDaniels during the bye week (assuming we defeat Miami? Also, isn't Caserio under contract until after the 2020 draft?

We had our friend @AndyJohnson telling us every year for like 5 years now that McDaniels should never refuse a job. And yet every year he is among the top of the list when it comes to HC hires.

Figures.

Former Patriots players from that long ago have no insight into the 21st century org.

It's funny, no one said boo about McDaniels as a candidate while the Pats offense sucked and Brady looked like crap...one good game and the media gossip machine goes into overdrive

Why does little Steve remind me of Joaquin Phoenix in one of those disturbed movie roles?

Amazing how people turn, isn’t it, FCB?

Or maybe it's the end of the regular season when some teams start their changes.

I like McDaniels, but I don't think he's going anywhere. He's a really good OC, but if I were an owner, I'd never hire him to be HC, not in a million years.

I think he's getting a job. Has made it clear he's ready to make the jump, supposedly behind the scenes & obviously has the resume.

I'd look out for:

McDaniels and Brady to Dallas or LA (Chargers)

Last week his play calling was terrific.
This week not so much. Gave up on the run too early. If he knows Brady is hurt, run it down their throats.

oh. And I don’t think he will be a good head coach
