The offense scored 24 with a crappy lineup.
Zero turnovers the last two games for the D. 3 losses in December, two at home.

The offense scored 24 points against a truly putrid defense that gave up 35 points to the Bengals, the worst team in football, last week (23 of those in the last 6 minutes of the game) and threw a horrible pick six.

Not sure about that.

I know they do one from each conference on each day, but don’t think the times have much to do with it.

and we probably won't find out the schedule until after tonight's game...so another 4 hours to go

And? Who had a chance to end the game? Did or did the pats offense take the lead with 3 plus minutes left??

I love the pats but they are sooo overrated on both sides of the ball.

My biggest concern is this is one of, if not the only, Pats team over the last 20 years that has gotten WORSE as the year went on. Usually they start flat and pick up momentum as the year goes on. This years it’s been reversed.

2007 team famously lost steam at the end of the year (even with wins). By the SB they couldn't get more than 14 pts.

2015 team in epic fashion blew up from a 10-0 start to 12-4 and limped into offseason. They got lucky that was enough for a bye.

I'm all for rooting hard.

I'm also all for pointing out a lot of this crap was very avoidable. We had bad planning on our TE and WR positions this year. You can't say that waiting around for Gronk's answer till after no FA TE was available was a good idea. You can't say signing AB and handicapping the cap space and then releasing him was a good idea. Either signing AB was wrong or releasing him was wrong, can't have both be good decisions. You can't say rolling with Gordon after last year's breakdown was a good idea as it stunted the development of rookies and also led us to release Demaryius or from signing other FAs.

Bottom line: Pats have mismanaged the WR/TE roster this year. And it's incredibly frustrating to watch.

The Homers won't agree with you though.

Only way forward is to play like we have nothing to lose like the Dolphins.

Pats obviously had a lot of mistakes on talent this year. They misread the ability of their TE's, took a calculated but ultimately bad risk on AB. Appear to have overpaid for Sanu and Brady did not have a very effective year. Despite all this they ended up 12-4 and should have been 13-3 w/o today's poor play. The loss today makes losing more likely than winning it all unfortunately. But there is still a chance and with good play and a few breaks this team should give anyone a game.

Pictures are going to kill the Titans. There's no way the Patriots struggle again this way.

Sanu blows balls. Guy can’t catch.
We could have had manny Sanders.

I disagree. Taking things for granted here is more like it. People are spoiled and dont appreciate.
I think people are feeling down due to :

1) blowing a bye to one of the worst teams in the league at home

2) the ineffective nature of the offense since about Sept—Oct

3) feeling teased because most of us thought that last week’s game could be considered “bounce backs” not just for Brady, but for the team in general

He looked pretty healthy last week going 26/33 against one of the toughest defenses in the league. He wasn’t limited in practice this week, was he?

Go tell that to Zolak and his lower body injury story.

The Dolphins went 5-4 in the last 9 games. They have started as the worst team in the league but definitely were closer to average towards the end of the year.

Okay, fair enough, but they’re still a below average team in general, and there’s really no excuse in losing to them, especially in a spot like this, and especially at home.

Normally, I really wouldn’t care as much as I currently do, but most of the frustration is coming to the point of accepting the fact that there’s no one to throw to, and that they’ll almost certainly lose this week or next.

I’m not familiar with the story off the top of my head, but it’s hard to pin this on Brady’s injury after he had no limitations in practice (again) and just came off of a gem of a game.

Much like Mohamed Sanu, had this happened 3 weeks ago I’d be more inclined to buy what you’re trying to sell.

Two of those wins came in early November (they were 2-2 in their last 4), and aside from the Patriots, they beat the Jets, Colts, Bengals, and Eagles. They lost to the Jets, Giants, Browns, and Bills. They weren't as bad as the Bengals but they're a very bad team, largely devoid of talent throughout their roster.

Does anyone know when the schedule will be released?
