I seem to remember a loss in February of 08 that was a little worse.
Haha, okay yeah I guess I’m exaggerating a bit - wasn’t really thinking about Super Bowl losses when I said that, just playoffs - but still, that was one awful loss.

Bro it’s football not real life. I’m over it, this team doesn’t dictate me being depressed and making comments like that.

I’ll get over it. I’m a big fan. I’m not embarrassed to be in a bad mood hours after a big loss.

Being in a bad mood is one thing. Comparing it to a funeral is ridiculous man.

This is the performance they have after saying all week this was a playoff game. That is just pathetic.

I hope Gilmore can adjust to not having his **** sucked for a week. I’d love if he lost the DPOY award and comes back to earth. I’ve never seen a Pat lobby for an individual award as hard as him. Other than KVN I guess.

Both of these. Maybe Gilmore should stop buying his own hype and prove it again. Maybe all of those stupid Boogeymen shirts should have been burned after the Ravens loss. Maybe Van Noy spoke for the whole team after the Ravens game when he said something like "hey, we only lost one game we're still pretty good right?".

Even Belichick and the team celebrating winning the division last week, just felt off. Since when do we celebrated winning the East? That's for the Texans and teams like that.

This team thinks Good Enough wins games, and they are going to be in for a large shock last week when Tennessee punches the Big Bad Patriots in the mouth early and often. They are heartless. Hope you enjoyed your hats and t-shirts because you won't be seeing anymore this season.

I gotta ask - how do you guys who seem so bitter not remember the past 2 decades?

I'm not saying we should be happy. I'm not saying you're wrong to be upset, I'm upset. But having enjoyed watching my team have more success than any other fan has enjoyed in their lifetime I just can't find it in me to be as angry as I used to be. I used to be a miserable cnut to be around after any loss but especially one like this one. It would ruin my whole weekend, I would snap at my ex-wife, etc.

But somewhere around 2014 it just all sort of went away. I guess I just wish I could understand why some of you seem so personally injured by this. Please don't twist this around to try to make it sound like I'm saying you can't be upset over a loss - that's not what I'm saying.

I'm just genuinely curious how fans who have enjoyed what we've enjoyed can sound like fans of a team who has just broke their hearts for 50 years.

How can all the success of the past two decades not take the edge off of losses?
It's all YOUR fault,Fjinx...if you had stayed in Reno instead of trying to play Ron Jeremy Jr. in "Debbie Does Austin Part1" by moving to Texazzzz, we'd all be looking forward to a bye and a free week of American Midol reruns...

This team could have been the clear #1 seed in the AFC, and the clear Super Bowl favorite, even though it had basically ignored the TE position. Instead, it chose to gut its receiver corps via a trade and two cuts.

So now the team will be playing week one of the playoffs.

Once Sanu has whole trainh camp.under him he'll be a stud in the system next season.

Harry and Meyers have a ton of potential as well. Probably the most potential since we had Dobson years ago.

Sanu looks like a guy who is pressing too much because he knows he isn't being as productive as he should be.

I am rooting for the guy and I'm not gonna call it a failed trade yet because it would be stupid to rush to judge someone this early into their tenure with the team. But if his production stays at around this level it'll be the worst trade this team has made. I'm highly suspicious that Sanders would have produced more here immediately but we can never know and obviously there's the downside of having to watch Sanders walk or sign another deal to stay here.

This one was bad but for me that week 17 2015 loss against the Dolphins in Miami is still one of the worst for me. For some reason we decided to have the corpse of Stephen Jackson slam into the offensive line for most of the first quarter and we never really got it going. We cost ourselves home field advantage and had to travel to Denver where we all know what happened.

I agree. I gave my 60 day notice today and am moving back to the land of legal weed and run down bathhouses.

I still would love a trip to KC even if it ends badly but they’re not a given next week in terms of a W.

Great post.

It does take the edge off.

I have experienced must worse losses as a Pats fan. And as a human being. I could not ask anything else from this organization. I’m going to be watching highlights of Super Bowls until I die, hopefully for not at least another few weeks.

But this one just kind of... stinks, maybe?

The thing I detest most in people is a sense of entitlement. The Pats played today with what I saw as a lack of guts, as I’ve mentioned elsewhere. That tells me that they thought that they were entitled to win this game. They would win it “because we’re the Patriots.” Well, “the Patriots” is a logo, guys. Those banners are going to fly if you win or lose. And you ****ing lost because you sucked today. And you are not half as good as you thought you were 10 weeks ago.

That’s what’s most bothersome to me.

The boogeymen ********? The DPOY? The KVN lobbying? Just ****ing play, OK!

When it has counted the most, so far, these guys turtled.

In the same boat. Brady’s 4th quarter comeback/Butler’s INT basically sealed the deal for me and everything else has been gravy. 28-3 and the Rams SB win included. Love the team and just can’t be upset about any of it to any big extent anymore after all they’ve accomplished. Maybe after Brady and/or Bill are gone and it’s a new staff I will feel differently but I doubt it.

I couldnt agree more. Oddly I'm at peace right now. I don't think a lot of these guys havent been along for the entire ride. I mean I'd get it if we were fans of another team that hopes against hope every year that they even have the chance at the playoffs.

Just an awful loss.

Maybe if they play the Steelers or the Raiders they will have a chance next week, otherwise they are toast.

Then the purge is coming.

I expect Brady, McCourty (both of them), Van Noy, Sanu, Burkhead, Watson, Slater, Ebner, all to walk.

Leaving the Pats with no QB, no talent, a minus a 2nd draft pick!

Why would Sanu walk? He's not a free agent.

Yeah you are right Brady either retires or is gone....sad way to end his legacy here
could well be to a team trying to build or rebuild a fan base and sell Season Tickets or PSL's...i'm too tired and depressed to think who that might be at this moment...
