Can’t emphasize enough how much that loss dealt a blow to chances of playoff success.

An extra week for Edelman and Brady to rest, in addition to some of the defensive vets (Chung, Hightower, Jones, JMac) would’ve been huge.

This team is beat up and slow at a lot of positions and that extra week would’ve been massive.

Pissed it away and have no one but themselves to blame. Didn’t match the intensity of the Dolphins at any point in the game.

Outplayed, outcoached. As good as Gilmore's been this year, he was that bad today. One of the biggest reasons for the loss. Brady was bad, the pick 6 was definitely one of the bigger plays too.

This is the least hopeful I've been going into the playoffs since 2009, the first time since that I can say I have a very very hard time seeing us win it all. Our defense has looked great against bad teams, but they have struggled against anyone with a reasonably decent offense other than maybe Dallas and they did OK vs KC. Our offense as everyone knows is not capable of consistently putting up points. They could always get some breaks or play over their heads 3 weeks in a row but beyond wild card weekend if we advance that far we are going to be easy underdogs in each game, I just don't see even Brady and BB pulling that off.

Let them down slightly? Lmao wow. The TD they just gave up to lose the game basically cost us a sb chance.

Defense has been solid all year and they did let them down a little bit. I still have confidence they can get back to how they were the first 10 games of the season.

One drive isn't going to change my opinion on this defense

Packers and Chiefs done it...we not...sad...:(

3 losses in December.

When the hell was the last time that happened? 2002?

The question would be why the running plays? Probably no confidence in the passing game

Re: the end of the first half, Bill Belichick said he would have called timeout if the Patriots had gotten a first down on that final drive. They called two running plays, which drained the remaining clock.
Unless this team somehow swaps out all of their receiving options, they’re losing early on in the postseason.

Beating both kc and the ravens and whomever we get next week to just get to face the saints, packers or niners would easily be one of the nfl biggest accomplishments in quite some time.

Its impossible to even believe, maybe the Bill's beat the ravens and we catch a break but dont count on it.

Yeah, we will call a timeout after 2 straight run plays that wont have a chance a first.

Good excuse bill.

"the end of the first half, Bill Belichick said he would have called timeout if the Patriots had gotten a first down on that final drive. They called two running plays, which drained the remaining clock."

That makes about as much sense as not trusting the very offense you constructed.

People are upset with the offense but they put them in a position to win.

The thing is that defense is really still solid but they did let them down slightly on the last drive. Have they made a stop people would be singing the praises of them.

let them down slightly? You’re kidding right?

they flushed the whole game by letting Fitzpatrick have his way with them. Offense was pretty bad, but that’s been the story for most of this season. This defense was supposed to be good, but they’ve failed every test they’ve had this year.

Maybe Brady shouldn't throw bonehead pick-6s and overthrow open guys in the end zone Which Harry and Sanu were on back to back play better throws and this is probably a 31-13 Pats win.
TB is injured. Has been for weeks. He was shaking that elbow in practice this week

Their soul was taken by a jag today, they’re frauds.

Who is going to catch the ball?

Not that it’s a big deal and I may actually be wrong, but if the Patriots called a timeout at like 1:45 before the half, they would’ve had two timeouts, not three. Since they didn’t call a timeout, the clock ticked down to a minute when Miami punted. They wouldn’t have had three timeouts at 1:45. Am I wrong or am I going crazy? I just keep seeing people post three timeouts with 1:45 left.

It doesn't look good and this is surely the least confident I've been in a while, but to assume the worst as a Patriots fan, you have to be incredibly pessimistic.

I’m at a loss for words
Although I had plenty during that last drive by Miami.... mostly the #%*?!! kind

Who is going to catch the ball?

The pats are done. That's the realization today.

It just isnt their year and it sucks because even an avg offense and the goal is more than in reach.
