The TOM BRADY appreciation thread

Tom Brady is so great he afforded us the luxury of taking him for granted. It's amazing we've gone 20 years without having to worry about the quarterback position.

I was thinking yesterday as I watched Brady's "Merry Christmas" message, "PLEASE don't go anywhere else Tom. I don't know how I'll survive without you..."

When he retires everybody including the homers will realize how important he has been to the organization and our fandom. We take him way for granted

Really ? Who COULDN’T win 6 SBs !??!!? C’m’on man...

Funny part is there are those ready to move on to Stidham. LMFAO

His movement in the pocket on Saturday was smooth and precise. He almost ran in for a TD, succesfully blocked downfield, and had a 78% completion rate.
All of this against a top 5 defense while purportedly having an elbow injury. Idc if he's 43 yo, pay the man.

Every great coach has needed a great QB to realize their vision, because ultimately you need someone to EXECUTE IT, ON THE FIELD. Otherwise your plan is just a list of things that don't happen.

It's always been like this. Paul Brown had Graham, Lombardi had Starr, Landry had Staubach, Walsh had Montana, and Belichick has Brady. People trying to parse if it's the QB or the coach that make a dynasty are looking at things wrong, because as soon as the forward pass mattered to the game they both became essential.

No other quarterback has two decades where each one is separately a Hall of Fame slam-dunk.

2000-2009 - 3x SB champ, 2x Super Bowl MVP, 1x MVP, 1x 1st Team All-Pro, 5x Pro Bowl
2010-2019 - 3x SB champ, 2x Super Bowl MVP, 2x MVP, 2x 1st Team All-Pro, 9x Pro Bowl

The "best quarterback debate" is 1945 Japan, and Brady dropped two atomic bombs on it.

Don't forget the Billick-Dilfer team. :D

Are there really?

I say sh`1t like "Let the Jarrett Stidham era begin" with tongue in cheek. That said... we're edging toward where his opinion of his value is again diverging from the team's opinion.

The last time this happened it took 3 SB rings to shut everybody TF up.

People have been predicting Brady's downfall since like 2013, at least. It will eventually be true, but it's been a sucker's bet so far, so I'm not in a rush to get in front of that one.

Honestly his legacy is set, he's just making the radioactive rubble bounce at this point.

This week he’s (with little fanfare):
  • Won the Sporting News Player of the Decade
  • Only QB named to USA all-decade team
  • Only QB named to Yahoo all-decade team
  • Going for career win #250 on Sunday
  • Looking to extend record for consecutive divisional titles and byes with a win Sunday
  • Looking to surpass Goober with TD #540 on Sunday
  • Named to the NFL 100 team

So Brady has Germanic ancestry?

I think January 2020 is when they announce the official NFL 2010s All-Decade Team but I haven't seen anything official on the date yet. Brady was 1st team QB for the 2000s and is a lock to be 1st team QB for the 2010s too. I don't think that's ever happened in NFL history.

GOAT QB
GOAT NFL player. Period.
GOAT Boston athlete.

Noone wants to move to Stidham. Wanting a good backup QB is not the same as wanting him as starter. Anything good said about Stidham doesn’t automatically mean you wish him as starter

Still more records to break.

e.g. I’d like him to get another Pro Bowl and break the 6 way tie at 14.

Also I’d like him to be first 8 time champion

I love the mentality! Onwards!
