Assuming no actual wrongdoing is found that will drop to zero if we lose a #5 or higher. #5 because that is what pumping in crowd noise cost the Falcons - and that was clearly an attempt to gain an advantage on the field.

If no actual wrongdoing is found, why would you accept a 5th round pick? Why would you accept any punishment at all? "No wrongdoing, case closed." That's what you accept.

JFC. One would think that the NFL wouldn’t want to go out of its way to attempt to brand its product as tainted. That they would do everything they could to not say that the dominant team for literally an entire generation, whose coach they’ve finally and begrudgingly decided to embrace as an ambassador for the game, did so by cheating. It’s as bad as a PR take as one could have, saying an entire generation grew up seeing its product damaged by fraud. In a sane world, the league would only begrudgingly come to such a conclusion, and share its conclusions and punishments with heavy hearts.

Instead you have this clown show of a league getting pissed off that they haven’t been able to prove the Patriots story wrong. They should be looking at where the evidence leads them, but instead they know the conclusion they want and are digging for it.

I thought this time the NFL had come to its senses and would do the right thing; no Roger Goodell screw up to need distraction from and no Spygate “light punishment” that needed correcting. Boy was I ever naive.

I now fully expect a Wells-like tenuous link to be found to justify a ridiculous penalty. Once Belichick is done with the league, so am I. The NFL doesn’t deserve my fandom; life is far too short, they have clearly shown there are better things on which to spend to these precious breaths.

I completely agree. It's baffling that the league is determined to make sure everyone knows their best dynasty ever owes all their accomplishments to cheating.

If Goodell was in charge of the NBA when the Tim Donaghy story broke, he would have mismanaged that situation so badly the league would have gone the way of SlamBall.

"They are showing frustration"?

Too bad.

That’s an insane quote to me. They’re frustrated that their ludicrous preconceived result — that would imply one of the most convoluted as well as incompetent conspiracy theories in league history — isn’t actually real.

That’s like me being frustrated that I lost the lottery AGAIN last week.

My sentiments exactly.

They want to find something

They want us to be guilty.

We all know it.

Any day this week with a begrudged All Clear from the league would essentially be a news dump day due to holidays. If we get to the playoffs and nothing has come out, we know they're digging hard on some speck of evidence.

This was how Deflategate went. No one had anything...then they found the bathroom tape and that was all they really needed.

I guess in this case the league isn’t looking into whether they did it. I think that was part of the start of Deflategate. With this they admitted they did and we all saw the clip.

I remember Kraft all apologetic, rending his garments, etc. bending over to the League of Un-extraordinary Non-gentelmen with Spygate and then again with Deflategate. Openly critical of Belichick in Spygate. Failed to back Brady as Deflategate evolved.
This time it's on him. HIS video production org. Silence.
Maybe it's too early for this assessment...We'll see.

What a bunch of horse$hit being peddled by Fox and Friends. They invite one ex-Giant and one ex-Jet along with an ex-whatever now New York marketing guy to very solemnly inform us that the "Patriots are cheaters and need the book thrown at them" campaign. Pathetic what some can get away with........

Fox has been neither fair nor balanced in very, very long time.

That's how it seems, but if it is in fact on Kraft only and not BB/football operations I still see them getting whacked because that is the permanent objective of the 345 Park Avenue clown car. They certainly don't believe this vendetta against the Pats taints their product, I'm pretty certain they believe the exact opposite. Its "Pats Derangement Syndrome."

All I expect from foolish "Robert" is another passive-aggressive website pointing out the blatant double standards at work here.

I think in other places we'd see the local media publishing/producing pictures and stories showing how common this type of thing is that happened at the Browns-Bengals game, perhaps providing the league's statement regarding the taping of the Pats sideline by the Jets in 2007, etc. Here in Shank-ville, somehow, that is left to us fans, with obvious effect. Sad!

Look at it this way folks, whatever the outcome, it is certain to be unjust, but we've been down that road twice already and continued to win titles. I'm confident that BB needs no more motivation, but this will give him some and I see that as a silver lining.

Hopefully there’s no text that says “I need some kicks let’s make a deal...come on help the spier”

Probably mentioned, but too lazy to read 140 pages :)

Timing of said penalties:
  • Saturday before the SB if the Patriots make it that far
  • Otherwise, soon thereafter

Just look at the Ravens Bluetooth ear piece and you see a difference in the way the Pats are treated compared to all the other teams. Pats are front center and guilty as soon as the story broke. The stories were everywhere. The Ravens have nothing, a cone of silence. Has the story been proven false? Or is it just not news worthy?

It's worse than that: pointing out the use of Bluetooth is just Pats fans trying to deflect attention about the Pats cheating regime.

It’s all fine as long as the security guy is only hearing security-related things in his earpiece.

The Ravens have been fined for cheating in 2010, 2016, and twice in 2018, which seems to imply that they also should not be getting the benefit of the doubt right now. Yet they are.

Those other 2 guys never played a game in the nfl

I know I would feel a lot more secure having the head of security standing on the sidelines behind the head coach after all don't all teams do that.;) Thank goodness he isn't monitoring the stadium or coordinating his staff.o_O After all he can do all that when the stadium is empty.

The interviews told them nothing and the tape showed nothing. So they are looking thru texts and emails now? Utterly ridiculous. How much time and effort is going into this. I think the punishment will come down before the divisional game against the Chefs. Anything to distract our team and make it easier for Andy Reid.
