Here are locks:
Brady
Montana

Graham
Baugh
Unitas

Then pick 5 (expected picks in bold):
starr
bradshaw
staubach
elway

favre
rodgers
marino
manning

But, I wouldn't be shocked if Warren Moon gets in either.
If Rodgers is in the discussion Brees has to be as well without question.

It would be pretty bonkers if Drew Brees didn't make it but I guess you have to include guys like Sammy Baugh who nobody living actually saw play.
BB did, well, he has his football card, well, his mom does.

I’m not sure he makes it. He didn’t make the list 10 years ago.

I think the only reason Rodgers is in the discussion is that he's most likely going to be 2nd team all decade QB for 2010s. Neither will make it, so it doesn't really matter.

Brees is like Marino without the league MVP. I wouldn't be shocked if Moon gets in before either of them. Heck, even Fouts and Stabler will be in the discussion if you add Brees. I personally would vote for neither fivehead nor brees. Dome QBs are soft. Their stats are inflated.

Of course Tommy will be 1st team for the second consecutive decade. Too bad Tommy can't take 2 spots and leave fivehead off.

Don't be so sure about nobody living saw Sammy Baugh play. He played until 1952, I was 18 and watched NFL on TV. Can't remember if saw him play

Hopefully Brees and Rodgers are left off

Am I reading this right? That you was 18 in 1952?

Crap...No wonder you can't remember if you saw him play..You're older than dirt

I was 9 in 1952 and thought I was ancient !

You're a kid.

I feel like they have almost zero chance to make the list honestly.

All the surprise inclusions have been from the distant past. Even at wide receiver they put Steve Largent ahead of like a half dozen guys from 1990+ with better resumes.

Rodgers was one of the best QBs, along with Brady and Manning, from 2011-14. Since then his stats have taken a nosedive shrouded behind his manufactured TD:INT stats.

Brees is more deserving than Manning but not top 10. I would love to see him miss out to see what all those Saints homers have to say. It is one obnoxious thing to hear them talk about “the GOAT”when referring to Brees; so ignorant of history. This would be a great lesson. Unfortunately I think Mr. Everyman Good Guy gets in on his charm. They keep showing him in the commercial with a “woe is me” face like he’s the perennial underdog.

Yes, born 1934, February 12.

I cant even get my aunt to use the digital cable right and here tou are using a message board.

She was born in august of that year. Cool

Rodgers TD INT ratio and Brees completion %. Two of the most manufactured sports stats of all time

What?! No nomination for Foxborough High QB?

Warren Moon? Why? 3 lifetime playoff wins

Brady
Montana
Unitas
Graham
Baugh
Elway
Marino
Young
Manning
Starr

Off top of my head May have let someone off

They keep showing Brees in the intro to the show, so does that mean he’s on it? Do they announce the finalists for QB or just jump right into the list?

My list similar to both of yours, but I’d nix Moon and Elway or at least put them in the lottery.

I think those eight are close to locks.

Brady
Montana
Baugh
Graham
Starr
Unitas
Staubach
Manning

As for the final two, you have at least minimal arguments (as in fanbases of that player think he is deserving) for; bolder most likely choices.

  • Aikman (3X champ and dynasty leader; won’t make it but worthy of finalist)
  • Bradshaw (4x SB champ; possibility of making it)
  • Brees (may be in the right place at the right time atop volume leaders)
  • Elway (has a good shot to make list)
  • Favre (I don’t like him but Packers tend to get legacy/tradition votes)
  • Fouts (voted second-team 1980s; member of voting team)
  • Kelly (should be a finalist)
  • Marino (just a real dichotomy on where to rank him; may depend on if this is “ranked choice voting”)
  • Moon (probably won’t get in but deserves a mention; sub-.500)
  • Namath (don’t underestimate the AFL-NFL legitimacy, and his stats were good for his era.)
  • Rodgers (see Favre; don’t like but Packers bias a real thing; really hope this guy doesn’t muck up the list)
  • Tarkenton (he really may surprise people and make it considering the bias/love for this era)
  • Warner (a James Harrison pick 6 away from serious consideration)
  • Wilson (too short a career but a great player)
  • Young (long shot, but he is the guy who really revolutionized the modern dual threat game)
  • Josh Allen (special mention because he threw a 50-yard bomb, as described by billsbills)

I like the post but this was just too funny.

Tim Tebow
Mark Sanchez
Eli Manning
These guys should be out there..

Same here. I was negative 15 back then.
