Why do Patriots fans buy this bunk?

The facts aren't on your side.

The freakin' Ravens game had 15 degree temperatures. The kicking balls are going to shrink like granpa's testes in that weather!
Did you read the part of his post where he said “except at the AFCCG”?

It's not clear, but there's a lot of circumstantial evidence that the McNally was doing something with the balls...not that I believe that Brady knew what he was doing. One ref even reported McNally to the league for suspicious behavior...

You're just wrong on this.

Your facts don't line up at all.

I can blow a hole a mile wide through that article. The texts referred to weight loss, and it's easy to prove.

I think this is great actually. I hope lots of teams believe this.

At the end of the day the person most responsible for deflategate was Dean Blandino, whose referees did not improperly inflate the balls to the legal range. If they did their job, none of this would have happened imo.

The Ravens game wasn't the AFCCG. It came before.

It' sad that you guys have bought the NFL bunk on this, when they did nothing but lie.

I just want to know what facts you can present here to make your case.

No, they actually inflated the balls properly but they lost pressure due to the temperature and wet conditions.

Like texts where they said if Brady ticked them off they’d pump the balls up like “watermelons” and that the only thing deflating in the next game would be Brady’s passer rating? Those were about weight loss? Riiiiight.

“Can’t wait to give you your needle this week :)
“Eff Tom. Make sure the pump is attached to the needle. Effing watermelons coming”
“So angry.”
“The only thing deflating Sun is his passer rating”
If I recall his job was to make sure the balls were properly inflated, and these texts were blowing off steam after they got chewed out because they were wildly over inflated for the Jets game.

I do recall it felt like these two decided to double check the refs work after getting reprimanded for balls they thought were inflated correctly and then magically got overinflated.

The article had nothing to do with the texts...

The texts are the entire reason the media thinks the Patriots did this. Without the texts there is no case.

Without the texts, what do you have?

If Brady didn't know at the Jets game who inflates the balls, then it's only from that point forward that he could have instructed the ball boy to do this.

Yet we have an SI article that quotes a ref about the ballboys sketchy behavior over an expanse of time. And what's the sketchy behavior? He wanted the ball 15 minutes earlier than others! That's sketchy? When we have refs that blew the whole process by measuring balls with different devices and then confusing which device measured which balls and so they had every incentive to throw shade on a ballboy?

If anything happened that would be it. Not trying to gain a competitive advantage rather ensuring the balls were within the legal limit.

I also believe they were not the only team doing it. Until Deflategate the league didn’t give two craps about PSI in footballs. The Ravens knew this and knew what the Pats were doing and were fine with it until Brady taunted them after they beat them in the playoffs.

Thats why there were no procedures in place to prevent the refs from overinflating the footballs to 16PSI like what happened in the Jets game.

Anyone who believes Deflategate was real needs their head examined.

Oh really? So in the Jet game the ball that was pumped to 16 psi was inflated properly?

Those were about balls.

I mean, holy cow, how are you confusing this? The balls were overinflated beyond the limits and Brady wanted them within legal range. They then informed Brady that it was the refs that did it. Then Brady told them to bring a rule book next time to show the refs!!

The previous and subsequent texts about deflating couldn't have been about balls, and those were the two texts the NFL and the media trotted out.

If anything, the texts about the overinflated balls in October exonerates both them and Brady because they didn't deflate the overinflated balls, & Brady didn't conspire to tell them to deflate the balls AFTER the refs overinflated them. Instead, Brady told them to bring a rule book and show it to the refs.

I too think they were deflating footballs except for the AFCCG and I also think it was because of the high PSI inflation from the Jets game. The texts make that clear.

I also think teams around the league knew it and as long as it was to the legal minimum of 12.5 they couldn’t care less.

I just wish Tom didn’t say “read the rule book”. Yes Harbaugh is a whiner and deserved to be mocked for his whining but it was just a pointless taunt...and when your team is known to be deflating footballs it’s going to come back to bite you if you trigger them. Which it did. No question the Ravens alerted the Colts to try and “catch” them as an FU right back to Tom’s comment.

FYI, no football used during a cold winter's game could be "legally" at or above 12.5 psi.

In fact if the footballs used during the ice bowl were measured they would have been " legally" at approximately 8.5 psi.

But since we now both know that the NFL never cared about a football's pressure , then or now, we can call deflategate what it truly was which was a witch hunt.

Wow the people responsible for inflating the footballs made comments about inflating the footballs. Who'da thunk it?

For the last 4 years, every time it's happened in our cars, my kids preempt with rolling eyes, because they know, word for word, the Deflategate/Science rant that is about to erupt from dad...........
.
I always say damn it Tom Brady was here.

The Ravens thought the Patriots deflated a kicking ball!!! For heaven's sake.

It was 15 degrees out and the kicking balls are the very balls that the Patriots ballboy would never have in his possession. They are brand new slick balls only controlled by the refs.

The Ravens were totally wrong on what happened to the kicking balls, so how in the world did the Ravens "know this?" When they didn't even know what they were complaining about?

All this deflategate talk makes me wonder..does the NFL even keep track and report any PSI measurements anymore?

They said they were going to do it during a game in like conditions. They did it. They never reported on it. Easy to understand why.
