Penalties being considered for the Pats - UPDATED 1/1/2020

Im prepared for whatever BS penalty the league will hand down. The tape on the other hand shows nothing that resembles any form of cheating.

yea the footage is helpful in proving that it wasn’t some elaborate scheme to cheat

unfortunately it’s also evidence of complete and total incompetence that is present at some level in the organization

The biggest issue to me over this whole stupid thing is that the guy who was doing the filming asked the security if they wanted him to destroy the film and all would be good - if it was not an illegal act i would have told security nothing is wrong here and GFY then make it sound like you got caught with your pants down.

He probably quickly realized how serious it was getting and was an “oh ****” type moment, when you’re being approached and interrogated by NFL security for illegally taping sidelines... I’m sure the wires finally connected in that moment and he realized it was a bad F up... I could see someone saying “the footage isn’t even important for what we’re doing, i can just delete it if it’s a problem”

it doesn’t help any that he has the super thick Boston accent which outside of this region sounds terrible to most people

PatsDynastyX2 just disappeared. Cool trick.

Problem is even if they don’t find evidence, as was the case in deflategate, “more likely than not“ is their new standard for guilt.

Gut tells me is that they are trying to FIND evidence so they can say guilty.

If this is all the public gets served up, moronic people in our country believe things in print/on the internet.

this is really the crux of the matter, not just with this nfl scandal stuff but society in general. We have a lot of mouth breathing idiots who have platforms to spew their uneducated opinions around about everything, and they never miss an opportunity to do so.

I’m constantly amazed on a nearly daily basis the level of ignorance people show, and with how much confidence they prattle on about things they know absolutely nothing about. On top of being stubborn and refusing to change their thoughts/opinions, irregardless of any data or information that is presented to them

Then you stop and think... wow... these people vote and reproduce.. we’re in trouble

Aren't you late for your shift at Burger King, along with the rest of your Queens/Long Island trash community?
Hey, I take offense, I live on Long Island, and don't work at Burger King, I work at an upscale establishment, Wendy's (not really).

Pat's fan since 1975, that was tough living in Queens in the 70's-90's, I was the only Pat's fan I knew. Now I think there is a Patriot's bar in Manhattan.

The media doesn’t help. They seem to have really dumbed down in recent years, but that seems to be what gets the ratings. I blame social media for dumbing everyone down. People don’t seem to have the attention span for good reporting and analysis anymore.

That’s just because 97% of the general public (NFL fans) are jealous of the Pats. If the Jets had half the success the Pats have had, the narrative would be “ Why do the Jets always cheat..”. Except in that case, there would actually be a little truth in the statement.

Lol didn't they say the Patriots do it too and got away with it? It's awfully interesting how the Jets got to do their own internal investigation. Why has no other team ever gotten that privilege?

Fraudger doesn’t need evidence.

Bingo.. park avenue already reached a conclusion the second this became a thing, it just takes some time to manufacture a narrative that drives toward that conclusion

Most likely they are interviewing other teams the Pats played over the past couple years to see if any Pats video crew came by the press box to film a documentary. If this were any other team, the investigation would be over.

if he does that this time 'round, he's gonna have to sell his house in Maine

i still cant believe anyone in that town lets him or his family shop in their stores... he should be persona non grata everywhere in new england

They are getting their ducks in order that's for sure. The 2 main questions these 'investigations' should start with are:

-Was there an advantage gained?
-Was there intent?

Unfortunately neither of those questions will be asked at all. Should they go with the heavy hand I would imagine they can't even tell anyone what the 'cheating' was. Of course there was an 'infraction' but you can't charge someone for murder for jaywalking when everyone around is also jaywalking. It's just insane.

Just heard penalty is we have to take/start Dalton next year.

Kraft Productions producer in BB office. "Bill, we are going to do a piece on one of the advance scouts. What would you think about us doing the filming from the press box including shots of the field and Cincy's sideline during the game?"
"Bill, is that a real gun?"

They don't SHOP in stores. They have 'people' for that.

All of these things don't matter much, if at all. The ability for people to use technology to force feed edited clips to the masses needs to stop. None of that is evidence but it 'looks' bad so they force feed it to the population. We soon will need laws to prevent these types of tactics because people will never stop trying to manipulate the masses. It's been happening since the start of time. Think of religion. Technology spreads these concepts like a virus. Laws need to account for that. I feel bad for this guy. He's broadcasted on network tv and made to be a fool and why? Cause he was nervous and wasn't fast enough on his feet?

So, maybe I missed it, but when are we expected to hear the bullsh** punishment? They gonna publish the results Sunday, after we beat the Bills so the good feeling we have of a division win over a quality opponent is overshadowed?

Screw this. If they have to do anything make Kraft go to a spa where the people giving handies are big burly dudes.
Penalties considered for Roger Goodell for baseless punishment including two stolen first round draft picks:

- Water Boarding

- The Rack

At least all that time, trouble, legal subversion, expense and sadism could be used to commit torture on somebody guilty, who deserves it, for a change.
