What Brees is doing at age 40 is incredible (like Tommy did at 40). He'd definitely be in the MVP talk if he hadn't missed so many games. Last night's game was insane, 29 for 30 with 4 TD passes. I don't know if that's a record or not, I've never seen a QB go 29 for 30. And it's not like he was dinking and dunking all game, he averaged over 10 yards per attempt. Just incredibly accurate. Extremely impressive.

Those MNF announcers are so incredibly awful.

Brady saw what Brees has for offensive weapons. He must have been thinking about the good old days while seeing it.

Probably, and yet, they have the same record this year, Brady plays outdoors, and this year has no weapons, and has already played in some craptastic weather (I went to two games that were pretty much 100% downpours) to get to the same record as Drew. Maybe Brady sat on the couch giving himself a pat on the back for being where he is...

I doubt that. It's not how Brady thinks, and he's shown that this season. I'm sure he's appreciative of the defense, and the coaching, and the like. But it's obvious that he's pissed about the offense not holding up its end of things, and I'm sure he looks at other offenses and says "If I had that guy...". He's not been hiding that stuff this year.

I like the 4th quarter comeback stat/whatevef, but it just pales in comparison to the playoff comeback. Between the Baltimore, Seahawks and Atlanta games those other contests were like minor affairs. Liked them sure, but the playoff comeback is the pinnacle of success and how legends are created. Regular season? You play again next week if you win or lose.

While College Football reigns in much of the South, in NOLA Brees and Payton are god like in their stature as are the Saints in General.. their passion is respected, and they generally respect Pats fans as after their "Bounty Gate" scandal as they understand the idiocy of Roger and the NFL hierarchy... Saints Fans and Pats Fans are kindred spirits due to inequities of NFL incompetence and "discipline"..

For Saints fans it does not matter where Brees winds up on lists, he will always be at the top of any QB list for them.. last night he went 29/30 that is pretty freaking remarkable.

I can't vouch for the first couple of paragraphs, but everything DarrylS wrote after is the truth. I've been living across the river from New Orleans for the past 25 years and the Saints are obviously my second favorite team. I used to have season tickets for six years back in the 90s, and have seen virtually every Patriots game at the Dome since 1990 (even a couple from the 80s). Every year I say to myself if the Patriots don't win the Super Bowl, I want the Saints to win it. The Saints are the only other organization that can empathize with Patriots fans on getting screwed over by the League Office. The Saints have been hosed over by a ton of calls this year, especially on instant replay, and I think it is a direct result of the League Office being pissed that the Saints-Rams playoff game forced them into having Pass Interference eligible for review. We Patriots fans shouldn't be begrudging of Brees for his individual accomplishments. He has been incredibly accurate and has done very well with all the weapons that he has had at his disposal. The fact that he has played the bulk of his games in climate-controlled Domes or warm weather sites like San Diego and one game a year at places like Tampa and Carolina over Tom Brady playing the bulk of his games outdoors in the Northeast is just the way it is. It's a credit that Brady has done so well playing in the outdoors (especially in wintry conditions) and its a credit to Brees that he has taken full advantage of playing in ideal conditions and maximizing to the fullest all the weapons at his disposal. Kudos to both HOF QBS!! No disrespect to Drew, but if I need one QB to take my team down the field on the final possession, with average quality WR/TE/RB and an average offensive line, I take a healthy Brady over a healthy Brees 100% of the time. I just feel fortunate to be able to watch, root and enjoy the immense talents of both QBs...

Brees is a great QB. Arguably top-10 ever. I wouldn’t put him in the top-10 but wouldn’t throw a fit if someone did. You can soon add Wilson to the list and argue that Brees is #5 of this era.

Apparently despite having better offensive weapons than anyone and a pretty good defense, he takes zero criticism for postseason failures. It’s bizarre. He’s like the most coddled athlete in sports when you consider Rodgers has come a lot close to winning a second championship, yet all he gets is hate. Brees is untouchable to the media.

Yep. If you look at the stuff I posted, there is literally zero argument for him to be above Brady, Manning, and Rodgers. People love their meaningless bulk stats though I guess

Look we all know it was a horrendous call and a TD perfect throw, but it's not for us to overcome, again and again, its for them to call the right call and the Rams to overcome.

I have no beef whatsoever with the saints, but you realize if they wouldve scored the touchdown there, the rams still wouldve has almost 2 minutes and a TO left to drive and tie it right? They ended up driving for the FG and forcing OT anyway so theres no guarantee that the saints wouldve just stopped them from getting a touchdown there, unless the receiver had been smart enough to kneel at the 1 yard line and milk the clock but who knows with these guys and their egos

if that same play wouldve happened to edelman we all wouldve been equally pissed, but id like to hope the sensible fans here wouldve also blamed the pats for letting the rams tie it and then Brady throwing an overtime INT when there was still ample opportunity to win it.

fans love to blame the refs for their shortcomings, pats nation included, but simply saying its the refs fault doesnt tell the WHOLE story IMO. Same thing when we lost to the chiefs two games ago, it had as much to do with the pats sh**ty redzone offense as it did the terrible officiating. Just gotta call it like it is

After the PI call, they would have milked the clock and kicked a FG, leaving virtually no time, if any. The PI call was almost certainly the end of the game

Not if the receiver had waltzed into the end zone like so many players do who lack game awareness and go for the glory moment. Not saying he wouldve done so, but a lot of these guys are dumb enough to do a thing like that

plus i was just going off what the saints guy said about it being a touchdown if not for the PI

Im actually starting to come around on Rodgers, as much as i hate to admit it.

hes no longer attempting to hide his doucheyness and i respect that. hes just like “f**k it, i know im the most talented QB and im just gonna own it and blame everyone else when im the only one doing my job.” I find that to be a more likeable version of an a-hole QB than the fake media suck up guys
