NFL has suspended Josh Gordon indefinitely

Wonder if we will get the bleeding heart defense on this board like we saw last year when he did this.

Right now, it's not about football. The man needs help.

.

Interesting. This time it's apparently PEDs as well as the usual substance abuse stuff.

So what do you know -- apparently unlike many geniuses here, the idiotic, clueless Bill Belichick may have had some idea that something was going on after all when he cut Gordon.
NFL has suspended Josh Gordon indefinitely for violating the league’s policies on performance-enhancing substances and substances of abuse.

Bolded, I would assume there is a drug policy that includes both steroids etc and recreational drugs in the title.

Glad we won't have to read any of those "why did we cut Gordon" takes anymore.

That being said, feeling bad for the dude. Will keep rooting for him but who knows of there is anything left in the NFL for him.

I think not accomplishing your dreams is better than getting close and your demons destroying it all.

I don't think there's a simple answer to this.

There are two separate policies, one for PEDs and one for substances of abuse.

The people who either, a.) make fun of Gordon for his struggles, OR b.) make fun of those who genuinely empathize with the guy - are seemingly the most naive, ignorant, and inexperienced humans you'll find on the planet.

Anyone who has experienced *real* drug addiction or mental health struggles won't make light of this situation in the slightest.

They're so Alpha!

Agree on both fronts.

Can’t get out of his own way. Given far more chances than he deserves and continues to screw up and get the benefit of the doubt.

He has an obvious illness. Someone doesn't voluntarily go through several series of multi-month rehabs over several years just for the fun of it.

He struggled mightily for several years with this. He needs to get away from football and be in a longer treatment situation.

.

Wish him luck. His career is likely over now.

Very sad for him. I know some might feel that we shouldn't feel sad for a multimillionaire who got to play a game for a living.

I think not accomplishing your dreams is better than getting close and your demons destroying it all.

And the question is, is to have had and lost better than not having at all.

Adderall counts as a substance of abuse in the offseason and a PED during the season, even if it was being used as a party drug during the season.

That would be my best guess for the failed PED test here.

Yesterday, I said that I'd prefer Harry to Gordon, and that he was a better option for us. I got little support.

I guess that I was tired of folks longing for those who are gone, instead of celebrating what we have.

Shefter reporting substance abuse policy.

Next stop for AB - Seattle?o_O

Somebody had to say it.

I wish him well in life.

I couldn’t care less about him as a football player at this point. I also don’t know how anyone can feel bad for him at this point.

Shefter reporting substance abuse policy.
The two policies are listed together often. It could well be PED's but I wouldn't be surprised as a quick tweet that is misleading.

OMG, he just can't beat this, can he. Addiction sucks.
