TNF Thread: Jete vs Ratbirds

My vitriol towards an Individual who had the GAUL to say he has the answers to the test and fails...is warranted when I and many others make MASSIVE sacrifices to attend home games; we give up vacations, functions, etc...in order to attend Patriots home games...so perhaps you should reconsider your nonsense
This post is so beyond stupid I just might reconsider placing you on ignore after tonight out of morbid fascination. I've been a Pats season ticket holder since '94, attended most home games a decade before that and always considered it a privilege vs. "massive sacrifice" en route to foregoing vacations, etc. Another thing: feeling "vitriol" toward the Hall of Fame player largely responsible for six Super Bowl wins is nonsense defined. Your negativity is astounding! (Also, Gaul is a region of ancient Europe.)

Wow, this QB seems like a total loser and let down. What has he accomplished? (Probably nothing.)

My guess is you never even read the entire context of that quote, but even going with your incredibly angry reaction to it and assuming he was being overconfident, what does that have to do with anything? Is that quote effecting his performance? Do you even realize how much confidence is necessary to achieve the unchartered, unheard of success he has had?

I feel like it's not that hard to comprehend that the comment, in fact, was literally Brady being critical of himself in arguably one of the harshest ways possible.

He's saying there are no secrets, there's nothing to uncover - they know how to win and they're still not doing it. That's a pretty big self-crit indictment right there.

Wow, trigger city here...how bout the loons just take a step back, hope the Pats can manage to go 3-0 over the next 3...win a division round game and take our chances away to Baltimore...

Lol..I don't "deserve" to be a fan? That's laugh out loud hilarious! I was listening to Dale Arnold do pbp on radio in the late 80bc games weren't on TV.,I spent 20K+ on season tickets over 15, 16 years...talk to me when you've made the FINANCIAL in investment o have in this club
.till then, GO PATS

Go ahead talk to me. I was a season ticket holder at the very first Pats game, September 1960. That was 59 1/4 years ago. I have been a faithful Pats Fan for those 59 1/4 years. I am almost 86 years old. I have spent much more than $20K on the Pats. Do I qualify to talk to you?

Ahahahaha you live in a state of triggered, telling everyone to calm down ahaha

And you don’t feel you’ve gotten a good return out of your investment of time/money the last 2 decades?

Apparently not, as he feels "vitriol" toward Tom Brady.

The Patriots passed up on Lamar Jackson TWICE in the first round. My goodness, people should be fired over that one

The Jets had a chance to win this game. The Jets, even without Mobley.

And they might have done it, if Darnold hadn't saved the day for the Ravens.

is your point that their offense is that much better than ours?

They have this guy named Tom Brady who's not too bad.

Thank you for your sacrifice.

Chris

Unfortunately for FCB, his prime back-up,KidRaven, can't be here to carry on the Whine-A-Palooza. It's way past his bedtime and mommy is busy massaging his undescended testicles and popping zits on his pasty face.Meanwhile, the AdultererInTheRoom is off in a corner flogging the baloney pony to the latest issue of Raven Mania and wondering if he's ever going to get a reply on Tinder.

Give FCB some credit...at least he's here, mad as hell, and he's not going to take it anymore. The rest of us are Max Schumacher clones replying, to wit...(Max Schumachers ) : " You need us. You need us badly. Because we're your last contact with human reality. We love you. And that painful, decaying love is the only thing between you and the shrieking nothingness you live the rest of the day."

I know, why would you pass on a player whose scouting reports unanimously say “MVP” and sure-fire superstar.

Seriously this is like 5th grade thinking. If anyone actually knew with certainty how these guys would turn out, a team would have traded four first round picks to move up and draft Mahomes #1 overall and I’m quite sure even the Ravens are worthy of some criticism in this context, since they should have traded up rather than risking LJ dropping to #32. Of course, our three most beloved Patriots are the 199th pick in 2000, the 42nd pick in 2010, and the 232nd pick in 2009.

Draft hindsight is the epitome of ignorance. At least bacongrundlecandy was actually arguing for this at the time of the draft.

I can much more easily accept the logical argument that the Patriots should have kept Garoppolo. I’m glad they kept Brady, but at least with this criticism, they knew what they had and what they were giving up.

Tonights game was an exercise in pure contrast...the Jete took Darnold with the 3rd pick in 2018...meanwhile, the Twerpfaced Army Of Patriot Hating trolls kept blaming the Pats for screwing the pooch, when we HAVE Tom Brady. The Browns NEEDED a QB in that draft. Crickets from the KidMongo crowd...so did the Jets...so did the Bills..so did the Cardinals...but no, it's "Patriots STUPID!!!!" followed by foot stamping and bitter insults

Why? The problem wasn't passing on Jackson, who'd be riding the pine in New England. The problem was with who the Patriots took, not with which QB they did not.

Give John Harbaugh credit, because I don't think Lamar would have been as good as he is currently without Harbaugh.

There remains zero context in the examination of the Lamar Jackson situation with Baltimore.

Now why would I say that? Easy, like the Kaepernick (single) great year in San Fran, he is still on his rookie contract as a QB meaning the team can pay a TON of other players to surround him with. I don't care how good Jackson is this season, the tale of tape isn't about one year - it's about the career.

Will he still be that good with those three TEs gone on to other teams? How about when they can't pay for Pro Bowl level guards and tackles and centers? (No, I'm not saying the entire line is pro bowl level, but at least half of them are). BTW their tackle Stanley (playing at a Pro Bowl level) is in the LAST year of a rookie contract too and is going to demand a huge contract.

What about when teams start loading up with run heavy defenses again after a recent trend shoring up the CBs in a passing league? Copycat league isn't just a saying - it's a reality.

Lastly, he has taken more hits than any other player in the league this season. Guess what - that adds up. We saw it this year with Mahomes. No human body can take that year after year.

Don't get me wrong, the kid is right now the best player in the league. He is today unstoppable, but that doesn't mean anything in context. They haven't won the whole thing yet (they might). They might win more than that, but the future prediction business is a mighty tough one.

Lamar Jackson is talented, no doubt about it. Someone flipped a switch on him in October and he leveled up big time.

All I can say is this: NFL history is replete with mobile QBs who dominated the regular season but fell short in the playoffs. My hope is history repeats itself.

If we play Baltimore, we should consider showing up wearing Clemson uniforms. Then we’ll definitely win...

And all teams pass on Brady 5 times and most of them passed on him 6 times...
