Josh McD: “I need to get Harry the ball more often”

I wonder what Chris Stevenson thinks

Yeah. Edelman definitely didn’t try to high point/snatch that ball. It was disappointing.
Jules isn't a high point guy. It was a horrible play selection/decision.

Just a quick reminder: We're talking about a spectator sport.

I think I agree with you but FFS this is no way to talk to someone.
eh, I'm like 90% sure the guy's a one-trick troll since he registered his account this past week and has spent most of his 16 posts inventing new ways to blame Brady for everything the WRs dropping passes to the running game not being productive. IMO pretty much any standards around conversational courtesy don't really apply to trolls, better to just ridicule them out of existence.

15 needs to man up. This WR draft class has been excellent......except for that guy.

I don't know, when I think excellent, I think 2014. The leading rookie receiver is going to end up with like 60 catches or so this year. A few have had big games like AJ Brown but their stats are going to end up looking like Keelan Cole's rookie year. Lots of guys with promise but none of them look like superstars being born. And the best 2018 receiver appears to be DJ Chark, who had 14 measly catches last year.

More important than getting Harry the ball is to mix up the play calling, it's too obvious when the pats will run and when it'll be a pass play.
White can run, Michel can catch a pass and burkhead need to play more snaps
Also get the TE involved, particularly Watson.
We are missing some of those routes that are run by TE in our system

4.52 would be really good for a 6-2 225 TE, not for a WR.

Dez Bryant, Jordy Nelson, etc all at 6-2 4.52 or so. Plenty fast -- and if he's really now 6-4 better still.

Harry will go light up putrid Cincinnati and people here will be dancing on the roof.

Then, reality will pay a visit when Buffalo erases big slow Harry.

WRs dont need to be fast. I am so sick of people complaining about Harry's "lack" of speed. Hes 6-4 225. It might come to pass he needs to lose a couple of pounds. Josh came in bigger and it hurt him.

At the end of the day WRs need to know how to run precise routes, deal with contact, get open consistently and most importantly catch the ball.

If speed were all that mattered Phillip Dorsett would have JE11 numbers.

I’m not sure high point was the right word, which is why I also added snatch. He needed better awareness of the location of the defender. He just let the ball come to him as if he was prepared to catch it with his body. He quite possibly could’ve caught it had he made more of an effort to attack the ball with his hands. My opinion of course.

No question he didn't get very good separation on the play.

With the depth he was in the end zone, it seemed to me like he should have tailed back towards the goal line a little, similar to what Meyers was supposed to do on the rollout play against Houston (hard angle to the pylon). That would have made it harder for the defender to come over the top. But I have no idea if that was even a possibility on that route combination, and I trust that Edelman knows what he's doing far more than me (at least when it comes to where he's supposed to be on the field).

Should at least get Harry the ball on some Cordarelle Patterson type plays. Harry is pretty nimble for a big guy.

Also should pull the plug on Sony for Bolden. Need to be less predictable, too obvious to tell if it's a run or a pass and Bolden is a lot more versatile.

I always thought the reason Patterson got the ball and did returns was he was fast as crap. I get the impression that Harry is not fast like that or even fast period.

I think it was a combination of speed (he definitely had an extra gear once he started pulling away), but also a tremendous sense of when to make a cut and when to just go. Slater is as fast as they come, but his KRs were always him running full speed into a defender. Patterson was great at very particular situations because he had both. If Harry can develop that sense, he'll be good, but he won't be the breakaway player Patterson was. I think ultimately what we should hope for is a guy who is reliable in his reads and a red zone weapon. Maybe not this year, but going forward.

Patterson is fast but he also is really strong. I think they could try some screens with Harry. He seems like he’s difficult to take down but I really haven’t seen the guy play much in all honestly.

On the TD catch n run Harry took a shot and stayed on his feet. Based on that lone instance hes a tough mutha to bring down.
