Hi guys, I don't post often, mostly lurk. We have been here before. Our offense isn't getting it done. I firmly believe that we will get it sorted. The offensive line just needs to trust eachother more and it's been a problem this whole season.
Mason has been focused on more than one job during this season if we look at his hesitation on film.

Brady is running around for dear life.AB won't fix that.

Scar will do his end of season magic

Agree. And before someone comes in here to tell you we didn't need a thread for this thought, I want to point out all the AB threads that were allowed to survive and thrive and live happy lives...

Amen, brothers! And what coach deserves the trust of the fan base more than this one? C'mon...

...BB is money. :)

Actually, I think AB is the only available fix for this offense this year and that isn't happening. This offense is what it is. A 20point at best offense *that's being generous* and it will need help from the defense/special teams to do any better.

I don't expect the offense to magically become good at this point in the season. I just don't see it.. The talent isn't there IMO. Even last year I had ALOT more optimism that they could figure it out. This year looks different to me.

I've been saying this for awhile now and I firmly believe it to be true.......We can still win but we've shown all year long we can only win one way. When the defense plays really well and forces turnovers. Without that, this offense will be hard pressed to beat anyone.

AB cant block . This oline has severe issues in blocking . Half healthy edelman and sanu dont help. They need to resolve their oline and primarily the RZ issues.

Too many high draft misses on offensive side of the ball. This team is in deep trouble long term....

Short term, we’re gonna need ATG defensive play or Brady magic otherwise I don’t see how we come out of the AFC this year

This is the first team in the last 20 years that I watch and DON’T expect them to dig themselves out of a hole. Watching the Eagles Super Bowl I was sure they were going down the field and winning the game. They didn’t and I was shocked and surprised. During the Falcons Super Bowl even at 28-3 I still had the “they’ve got a chance” mindset. This year, to me, feels totally different. If they get behind it’s just feels like it’s over.

I still wouldn’t be totally surprised if they somehow put it together. But, as of now, once they get down it just feels like too big a hill to overcome.

we have been here before

but we seem to experience this more frequently and for longer stretches as time goes on

And I think its okay if they cant make it to the SB every yr . Sometimes the law of averages with 32 teams , this happens . The level of disappointment here is way too much. They had no business winning that game last yr if dee ford doesnt jump offside e.g.. This yr, things have evened out. I am okay with it. They won one of the greatest AFCCG on the road.

Nice contribution that definitely addresses the points made in the OP.

What do you mean no business winning the game? Because of that one play? If your gonna look to that one play and forget the entire first half you could also mention the OPI on kc that sprung Watkins to a near td setting up 7 pts.

We had no business winning 4-5 of our Super Bowls but we also had no business losing the three that we did lose, or losing in 06 or 15 in the AFC finals, or....

There’s a lot of randomness to it all.

I’m just thrilled we got #6. That was not one of our best overall teams by any means, and it may have been the last chance to make a serious run (we’ll see if this year’s team is capable.) I would love to see #7 obviously but at #5 I felt like everything they tried to accomplish had been fulfilled and #6 was just a complete feeling of overwhelming gratitude for following this team...one that they didn’t need to make history but nonetheless puts an exclamation point on the dynasty in case there were any doubts at all. The ultimate cherry on top. The people “demanding” #7 have a totally skewed view of reality and must really believe the universe revolves around them.

Great post. Agree it's important to keep everything in perspective, especially seeing what this board's been like the past month or so...

Yes, we've been here before, just like 2015, when we started 10-0.

As rough or unfamiliar things have looked at times this year vs. other years during this run, I will always like a Bill and Tom lead team when the chips are on the line in the playoffs. The reality of the playoffs essentially being a 1 game series each round is an especially good thing in a year like this, in particularly if you’re in the camp of thinking they’re an inferior team than some of the other AFC contenders.

As it’s obviously known, there are a lot of things that need to happen to win a SB, some of which involve successive occurrences of unlikely/timely things happening all in a row. With that in mind, a little luck here or there (while not something to count on) could certainly swing the pendulum the Pats way.

Until the season is actually over, it is never over.

Our offense wasn’t this inept in 2015. Brandon Lafell did drop in performance from 2014 but was still more effective than Dorsett is for us. Amendola is a rockstar compared to Meyers especially in playoffs. And Gronkowski is a GOD compared to N’keal Harry as a jump-ball, redzone and mismatch target. And we had Edelman then as well. Our current 28th ranked (in yards per carry) running attack can’t be any better than the useless White/Bolden/Jackson attack we had in playoffs in 2015 after Ridley went away in offseason. Hell we still have Bolden and White. Gronk came down with 144 yards in that AFCCG in Denver we lost. Who can step up from this crew?

This offense is only comparable to 2006 when Jabar Gaffney and Reche Caldwell were top threats and we lambasted BB for giving Tom such pathetic targets and he had to overhaul the receiver corps in offseason.

They've only lost three games so far this year and they had near comebacks in two of them. Two of the losses were on the road against division leaders and the other was stolen by the officiating. I don't remember them being in this position before and I won't be quitting on them until they lose a playoff game.

I keep repeating myself, but I still think if they can somehow improve, supplement, game plan around the blocking issues, this team can go all the way.

How many seasons have gone this way, around this time, only to somehow get it together?

Myers needs to focus a little more IMO.
He is starting to get in position to make plays, but has some issues catching the ball.

I think Harry is greatly improving. He is using his body more and being more aggressive. I felt bad for him (and me) when he was robbed of that TD.

I was proud of the effort they gave in the KC game. It would have been a guaranteed W if it weren't for Booger and Co.

I don't know the extent of Lamar Jacksons injury, but we all knew his style of play would eventually bite him in the arse. That could also be a plus,
I'm definitely not afraid of KC.

It ain't over yet.
