A Note to Bob Kraft

80th percentile? You're right...it's not "much of a brain" and this isn't an SAT test...
Thank you, Mr. Kraft. I don’t know where we would be without you drinking manischewitz in the owner’s box while the football guys do all the work to keep this machine going. We are all so thankful. Here.... take an amount of money equivalent to a mortgage payment so I can come to the stadium and see one of your games.

Lots of bosses have put winning personnel in place. That doesn’t mean you should go out of your way to thank the owner and worship the ground he walks on. That should be reserved for the guys that are actually handling the football ops. He did his job (what he’s supposed to do) as an owner. We should be very thankful that he did it? Virginia McCaskey stays out of the way as an owner, too. Shall Bears fans thank their lucky stars for her? Thank Brady, BB, and the football guys. Not Kraft. We’ve already thanked him enough... to the tune of the #2 most valuable franchise in the NFL.

That's about the dumbest post I've seen here in about 11 minutes.

Have you ever been to Schaeffer/Sullivan Stadium?

Have you ever tried finding a Patriots game on TV that was blacked out locally??????

Did you experience firsthand what being a Patriot fan was like before January 1994? You seem to have no idea whatsoever.

By the way - - you wanna REALLY compare Mrs. McCaskey to Bob Kraft????? (I know this doesn't affect you in Florida)

Link: The Soldier Field fiasco. | Chicago Bears Board

"Daley's promise to taxpayers provoked similar doubts. The project's cost eventually would swell to about $660 million, the public debt burden to some $432 million: Backloaded annual principal and interest payments leap from $6.3 million in 2002 to $88.5 million in 2032. Even as Daley spoke, Chicago aldermen and legislators who had voted for the project under intense pressure from City Hall were frightened: To make the financing work, revenues from a 2 percent hotel tax would have to grow by 5.615 percent every year — for 30 years. Imagine the danger of taking out a home mortgage you can afford to pay off only if your income rises by 5.615 percent annually … for three decades.

Many lawmakers in Springfield had chafed at the recklessness of that assumption. So when City Hall officials and Bears corporate execs had sought state approval for the bonding scheme late in 2000, Downstate legislators outsmarted the city slickers: The Downstaters insisted that if ever the hotel tax couldn't pay off the stadium bonds, Chicago taxpayers — and not other Illinoisans — would be stuck making up the annual shortfalls.

Today — and conceivably for two decades to come — that menacing obligation confronts Chicagoans and Mayor Rahm Emanuel. This year, in addition to an annual $5 million subsidy that the city already provides, Chicago has to pay $185,000 because the hotel tax revenues are falling short. And as mandatory bond payments escalate over the next 21 years to that daunting $88.5 million, taxpayers' liability could become enormous. That risk is implicit in Emanuel's evident frustration over this year's gouge: "I don't want the taxpayers of the city of Chicago to be treated as if they're just an ATM machine. They're not."

If you know what I mean, and I know what I mean, and you're still sitting here complaining about how I've successfully communicated -- who's the real Simpelton

This is a whole bunch of red herrings in one post. Bob is nowhere near the top when it comes to guys to thank for where we are now. If the owner doing what he’s supposed to do, which is stay out of the way, was all that important to sustaining the kind of excellence we are seeing, we would be seeing similar dynastic type runs from the Bears, Packers, Vikings, Giants, Eagles, Bills, Titans, Chiefs, etc. I know you worship the guy. I have my guess as to why. But this isn’t an argument. Praising the owner as effusively as this board does for simply doing what he is supposed to do is patently ridiculous.

You're arguing with a guy who believes Kraft is "greatest owner of all-time" despite that I proved to him that I'm a better owner. My mortgage is paid every month, my car is now paid off, and my dog is up on his vaccinations. But I have not stupidly released Antonio Brown, gotten busted for a hj at a mini mall, or thrown a close person "like a son to me" to the wolves when a fake scandal broke out and the world was against him. Shmessy cannot even define what an "owner" does and has no historical context of other past owners so just bestows praise on Kraft for everything the senile old buffoon does. He's basically Mr. Magoo with white hair and a permanent boner but is above reproach. I would suggest not bothering. I like shmessey, but he can approach AndyJohnson territory when it comes to protecting his precious Kraft image.

Yeah, so Brady and Belichick paid for Gillette Stadium.....and built Patriot Place.......and the Patriots Hall.......and did it with ZERO Private Seat Licenses or tax-suck to the people of Massachusetts (save a piddling infrastructure road cost).

Have you ANY perspective???? Kraft IS a complete OUTLIER for any private owner of an NFL team - no one else has done for the taxpayer base of his community AND swooped in at the last minute to save a team from moving.......of course that means zilch to a Floridian. Understandable. I live in Maryland now and it means nothing to me personally either. But to that community up there???? It's a BFD.

Oh I know far more about previous owners than you'll ever learn. Met Mr. Sullivan on several occasions. Really nice man. Was a but too much local yokel to compete with the major leaguers though. His sons Chuck and Billy were.....ummmm.......not quite not quite not quite......

Kiam?????? I never met him but I know all about that clown - - At least as much as you do, so no need to pontificate.

You're right about Orthwein. I'm not much up on him. I only know he wanted to move the team to St Louis. Maybe you can teach me a thing or two about Orthwein.

And breaks on parking by the town of Foxboro. After threatening to move the team. That said, what the hell does this have to do with the rank order of guys to be thankful for regarding the success of the football team on the field?

So what? What does that have to do with what Brady, Bill, and the team have accomplished on the field? It doesn’t. It’s a nice red herring, but dropping that shows me that you don’t have a way to refute my argument.

Kraft has had the easiest job in sports since hiring BB, who drafted Brady.

Kraft also inherited Parcells, a Hall of Fame Coach, who was two years away from making them a contender. Kraft messed that up for a few years, but got lucky bringing BB back.

Kraft saved football in Foxboro and made brilliant hires with both Parcells and BB, however, he has been proven to be a spineless narcissist who now cares most about his public image and being a “big baller”. By all accounts Myra was a lovely, caring woman and she deserves better than having her husband embarrass himself (and dishonor her) publicly by “dating” a 30-year-old no talent bimbo and then getting caught not once but twice in the same week at that strip mall in Florida. Get out of here with your dumb Nike sneakers which are just 1 inch shoe lifts disguised as fashion and your NYC club appearances with Jay Z and Beyoncé drinking Crystal. You are still the same chubby kid from Brookline with congenital short stature and no athletic skills. IF the coaches and players want AB, stop pretending that your sh*t don’t stink and resign him and then have the balls to defend your decision.

And while you’re at it, hand over the reigns of the team to your son who has his own skeletons (Jonathan is no stranger to local escort services, according to my reliable sources ) but who seems to care about winning above all else, has testes that are still viable and is more willing to place the interest of the team above relationships with other owners and the league front office.

For all of these reasons I was one of the vocal minority who booed Kraft when he had to put himself in the limelight on opening night versus Pittsburgh, coming out with last year’s Lombardi trophy, instead of allowing the players to receive all of the recognition and applause.

Magical Thinking!

It's so easy being an owner. They all must just luxuriate in their trophies because finding and keeping a great HC ahppy and in one place for 20 years is just so damn easy.

Please tell us all the other owners who have kept great coaches happy and staying put for 2 straight decades.

And while you're at it, WHY exactly did Belichick quit as HC of the NYJ?????????? What was the ONE overarching reason??????

Someone is jelly..........:D

The Single Most Momentous Day in New England Sports History!!!!

The video ends with "I hope we can bring a Championship here".

.

Think you are confusing this for the day he hired BB.

That too! A great day in New England Sports History!!!

What a move!!!!!!

.

I'd say you're welcome if you took the criticism seriously. As you're well aware, I'm not the only one here who finds your shtick tiresome.

I can't imagine how disgusted and upset he was when the Patriots pulled off that comeback in SB 51!!!!!

I’m jealous of his access to Belichick and Pink Stripes as well as his war room access during the draft but scrawny, dime-a-dozen blonde bombos are not my thing. I’m very happy with my brilliant, smoke-show, non-materialistic MD wife and definitely have no interest in hanging out with celebrities.

The likable, humble Bob Kraft of the 1990s and early 2000s is long gone, but you do you and keep blindly kissing the ring.

Think of how many times BB has brought back a player that had previously supposedly burned his bridges with the coach, just because BB puts the success or failure of the team above his own ego. And then contrast that with RK.

For those who can't seem to grasp this: it's not about RK cutting a HOF receiver, apart from anything else. It's about RK cutting said HOF receiver in a year when that receiver could make the difference between a lot of historic things happening and not happening, and caring more about his own pride than about giving the team and staff the best chance possible to achieve those historic things. That's just negligent and unconscionable.

But I suppose some on here think that because he owns the team and did good things in the past, he can do whatever he wants now. I wish I could get that kind of carte blanche in my life.
