Bellichick reiterate today that he knew nothing about it..."“Yeah I’m really focused on getting ready for the Bengals here,” Belichick said on Tuesday morning, via NFL.com.

Maybe he should have chosen different words. The 'on to cinncinnati line' is awkward in this situation.

What is your basis for your blanket assumption that NE didn’t have prying eyes during other games ?
Not getting caught?

We received permission from the Browns to film at the stadium for a documentary about the advanced scout. It would be easily verifiable to find out if the Pats have asked other teams for the same permission during the season for the same reason.

If they haven't, and they've been filming anyway (in this case, successfully, since they weren't caught at any other time) why the sudden change in something that is working?

That's why it's harder to believe this is more than a single mistake.

Yeah I bet they’re “on to” Cincinnati...

Will Kraft Orchid of Asia incident somehow be bundled in making this a repeat offense when we get punished for this?

Report: Patriots video focuses on Bengals sideline for eight minutes

Florio’s got it pretty much right here. The league hasn’t said anything because they need to prove the Patriots are telling the truth, and therefore will investigate to ensure there isn’t any sort of connection between the football guys and the video staff. If they can prove that, at least the football ops people are off the hook and no suspensions will be given to them. Would they dock draft picks if it was proven not to be for competitive advantage purposes - meaning putting the Patriots at a competitive disadvantage when they weren’t trying to gain an advantage? The Pats had better cooperate fully and hope Goodell doesn’t bring in Ted Wells again.....

I actually think it is exactly Bill’s M.O. to get some info on the Bengals. He’s probably one of the only coaches who would.

But only the Bengals. He's more confident against the Ravens.

He's also apparently the dumbest NFL coach in history.

I left out the 'three walls' because I didn't think it necessary to add that because what was repeated over and over again was filming from the sidelines which was ok until goodell put out a memo stating that it was no longer legal to do.

And he did it with bad wording that seemed like it emphasized you can't film from the sidelines AND use it in a game.

I've always suspected that what really happened is that the Jets were caught filming the Patriots, and that the league was OK with it, so the Patriots simply inferred that the memo was not in play in more. The NFL was OK with the Jets filming illegally from the sidelines so the update on the memo was totally irrelevant.

The comments are enjoyable.

here is the issue. No one has seen the tape is 8 mins long on the sideline and if now nfl says it wasnt 8 mins long no one will believe them. The narrative is out there , just like always.

Man a lot of you just don’t fu.cking get how bad this looks and no amount of Matt “Baghdad Bob” Chatham tweets are going to make this all better.

Honestly, when I read your posts, I think you're open to this scenario happening:

1. The Patriots concocted the documentary hoax last year, then they put it into practice by spending countless hours and episodes over several months.

2. They were waiting for their one chance to film sidelines (in an era when playcalls are made with radios not hand signals), and they decided to choose the Bengals to do this against, instead of the Chiefs, Eagles, Texans or Ravens. Or they did it to every team in which case every week an NFL team credentialed this crew so it could continue it's exposee of an advance scout's life! Leaving a trail a mile long so the NFL could ask them, "Just how long does it take to do an episode on advance scouting?" This was their dastardly plan.

4. And they did this rather than send some flunky into the stands to film the Bengals' sidelines to his heart's content, rather than set up a tripod right in front of the Bengals' media team in the pressbox!

You may be right. If you are, then Belichick is the stupidest person on Martha's Vineyard.

BB was spotted in Attleboro last night at the weekly SSSA meeting in the basement of the St Francis Church.
BB was overheard saying: Hi, my name is Bill and I’m a serial sign stealer and I’ve been clean for 28 hours
Some guy named Bob was there too with a young chippy but didn’t have the stones to speak

Wells would go through years worth of the cameramen’s text messages and find suspicious words like “camera”, “film”, and “video” and determine there isn’t any credible reasons for using such words and determine that they’re guilty.

Looks like the nfl wants to dock us a first every 5 to 6 years at this rate.

The comments are enjoyable.

One of the comments was actually "Why didn't they film the advanced scout at Foxboro if it was on the up and up?"

LOL! REALLY not grasping what's going on here, are you?

Imagine calling up the contract company and asking them to cheat for you.

Here’s my guess...a ruling is handed down soon. Then league will ask other opponents if the Patriots filmed their documentary there, too, since this is supposedly a one-time specific segment. If this is the only time then:

Pats fined <100K for not getting permission
League finds Pats did not seek to gain or actually gain a competitive advantage
League iterates Patriots subject to further discipline should they learn more
Pats banned indefinitely from filming in other opponent’s stadiums
League to discuss issues around filming in offseason
League leaks to the media that if they find out more was done, Belichick will be banned indefinitely and multiple first round picks taken away - essentially the death penalty

If this is not the only time, then expect no announcement for a while, while a media thunder storm reigns down **** and prominent voices declare the Patriots should be legitimately stripped of titles, followed by massive penalties.

Would be pretty bizarre to cheat in the same way you've already been severely punished for. That would actually probably be a really great way to get a ban from the league. Not impossible, but ya I'll stick by the assumption based on likelihood

There is no rule where the Pat's have to get permission from the league or Bengals. There should be a 25K fine in which the team takes responsibility for the action of the production team.

I don't want to see you celebrating here if the Pats win another SB...

Yes, because television cameras are never showing the sidelines. o_O
