The book is out. Need to figure this out in the last 3 games.

Our LB’s can’t seem to cover RB’s in space either.

YAWN

One was a 4 yard direct snap run and the other a RB caught the ball 3 yards from the LOS and ran 9 more yards while beating a flu ridden-LB that stumbled when he tried to jam said RB at the LOS

Lol embarrassing.

Something with a single page is not a book.

Those plays are not even close to be the same. Hell not even the formation is the same.

They are all building on the play the Ravens ran successfully a couple times and add their own little wrinkles.

What Schwartz conveniently is forgetting to add is how the defense stopped exactly the same play against the Texans earlier in the game. Then they added a wrinkle to it and scored.

And if you check out the replay on the Kelce TD the issue was Collins trying to wrap around to a gap where Hightower already was, running straight into lineman and a block while vacating an open lane for Kelce to run through into the end zone. If Jamie stays in his area Kelce would have to go through him while help is arriving from all sides.

This is just incorrect. Pats have only allowed 50 rec. for 360 yards and 1 TD all season to RBs.

Duke Johnson our of the backfield was a mismatch. Ezekiel Elliot had 4 catches for 40 yards. Mark Ingram also had a long catch against us.

None of these are unusual in the NFL.

There are some serious issues with this team. Defense isn't one of them.

All defense issues are way done the list, when our issues start with
1) passing game
2) running game

Not saying they are I’m just saying it’s a way to attack the “boogeymen”.

49ers have allowed 46 rec for 303 yards to RBs. Are you saying that's a way to attack the 49ers too?

If it leads to TD’s in the red zone then yes.

nothing to see here.....move along

I'd put 3) Kicking game (FGs) ahead of defense as well. Basically, anything related to scoring points needs work.

RZ offense is #1. they fix it. Play from ahead, dictate the other team's defense, the whole offense starts to be come easier. couldnt score twice from inside the 10 yard line last week.

Yup, having 4 FG kickers is rather amazing. I don't see what could be done about fixing this issue, or the LT issue either.

It is truly amazing how a team without an offense, and without a kicking game, could still be 10-3 and a favorite to have a bye in the playoffs.

We talk about our schedule. Well, we've won 3 games against likely playoff teams (and one more against one who is competing for a spot) for a total of 4 competitors, and it could be 5 after Game 17.

5-3 against playoff competitors isn't terrible. The key has been to win ALL the games against weak teams.

I was looking at this today actually, it's interesting you bring it up. They scored TD's 62% of the time they made it to the RZ last year. This year it's 48%. I got too lazy to do any actual math/research, but I wonder what their points per game average would look like between the two years if you carried that pace over? Either way, you're right, it's a problem. Interestingly enough it's both the easiest way for them to improve (you're basically talking two additional successful plays and they win the last two games), and the hardest thing FOR them to improve (because they're not going to suddenly get a dual-threat TE, their #1 C, and a FB before the end of this season).

The Pats were money last year in the red zone. I had absolutely no doubt at all the game was over last January in KC once Gronk caught that 3rd down pass in OT.

Won’t be as easy this year to fix it but we’ll need to be a lot better there if we want to repeat.
