Penalties being considered for the Pats - UPDATED 1/1/2020

So I visit a Texas Longhorns message board to keep up with team news/recruiting. I use the free board, but the site also has a pay board that I'll look at and see if the topics give away any info. It gets a ton of traffic so a lot of threads get a ton of responses very quickly.

Yes, this story received a thread, but got got just 23 replies in 7 hours. It's no longer on the front page, last post being from 9:00 last night, and topics in front of it include potato salad, tequila, light beer, the Rockets, the NFC East, Russian doping and flying out of Palm Springs. So it didn't die because they only talk Texas football there, it's a board that discusses everything. Take that for what it's worth.

Wrong.

Example: The Chiefs are doing it now with their "The Franchise" series.

It's common practice for NFL teams to develop content which provides fans an insider view of the team.

So if the team doesn’t have the tape and reports are they don’t... how would they know what was on it or what happened? At least know enough to make a statement...

Fake? No. Gullible? Yes

They will let this stew all day and then release footage of this assclown employee saying "Can't we delete this and forget it happened" and nothing else. Then they will let that sit for 2 days until things become out of control. Then they will hammer the patriots but never release the actual footage.

Yea not going away just seen on today show coming up another patriots scandal, worded as a patriots employee was taping the sideline, than said the patriots claim it was part of a documentary about a scout, than the guy who's smirking said when was the last time you seen a documentary about a scout of a nfl team, you don't see that......... Going to be a long day.

I wish they would just release the tape. Let everyone see for themselves regardless of what’s on it otherwise everyone just assumes we’re guilty anyways.

Was dropping my car off at the shop when the local news mentioned "the Patriots videotaping the Cincinnati Bengals' signals".

We are losing another first round pick regardless of what actually happened on that sideline. Mark my words.

Yeah one of the reasons why spygate became so big is the narrative that Goodell destroyed the tapes. I too would like to see this one. I know the Bengals did not want the tape to be released to ESPN and I hope that doesn’t mean it’s because it shows team signals.

NOBODY USES SIGNALS! The bengals should be fined for allowing this to become a gate with how they have handled this. Release the freaking tape.

When there's 15 seconds left on the play clock, how is the defense going to be watching for signals from the sidelines when they need to focus on the snap and offensive motions? This whole thing is beyond dumb. Unfortunately, Roger, the league, and the media are also beyond dumb.

If it was really bad they would have said something. If it was completely innocuous (30 seconds) they would have said something. Seems to point that it’s something in between.

As much as we may protest, the NFL needs to dig into this to satisfy the Bengals’ concerns that they were being intentionally filmed, and to satisfy the other 30 teams’ potential concerns about this. If the NFL isn’t comfortable saying it was innocent at this point, then they can’t put out such a statement. They may want to dig into the Patriots office protocols for proof of various claims, etc.

I’ll leave out any commentary on whether the NFL is out to get the Patriots.
