Freaking morons. How are they going to put the franchise through this again.

All of those other cheating scandals were put to rest almost immediately. The warming of the balls on the sidelines, guy talking into the walkie talkie on the sidelines, multiple cell phone violations, Ben’s Apple Watch, at least 2 instances where the PSI of footballs was low, etc.

All of those were pretty much over within 24-48 hrs. The league got out in front, and released their info which either cleared these violations or they minimized them and handed out a fine. Now that it’s NE, they’ll drag on an investigation that takes us through the holidays. It will be a major distraction and the media and other fanbases will eat those daily articles right up.

Not necessarily. Once he realized that he may have done something wrong and saw other people making a big deal about it, this may have been his attempt at trying to make the situation better.

Yeah that’s exactly what I mean.

When do you think info on content of the tape will be released?

This is absolutely embarrassing. Why in the world would they need to film the Bungles of all teams???
Because if they cheated here, Bengals weren't likely only ones. We need more info on the tape though but if cheating is confirmed I just don't see how Bengals were their one lone decision.

That's because the Patriots have been competing for 19 years. It ****s up the whole parity thing they're going for which is basically teams going through phases of being competitive and selling merch hand over fist for 5 or so years and then fading into a period of obscurity for 5-10 years and then having a resurgence.

We're the popcorn shell stuck in their teeth. They won't circle the wagons for us because the sooner we stop competing the better for the other 31 whose incompetence is highlighted by the otherworldly success of Belichick and Brady.

If we were any other team the league would have stepped in already to shut the Bengals the f uck up and put media speculation to rest. But nah these non-football subcontractors are going to be raked over the coal and misrepresented as agents of our coaching staff because we have committed the cardinal sin of not falling in line and being mediocre.

Your guess is as good as mine, although I think we’ll continue to see the story gain traction if the league doesn’t clear them quickly.

He could have been filming the first quarter to get footage to show what the NFL scout is looking at.

When he was told it was against NFL rules, he offered to delete it all.

Actually I don’t think he OFFERED to delete it all. I think he ASKED if he could delete it all and if they could pretend it never happened. Huge difference.

If the tape shows no cheating the NFL needs to clear this fast. Don't let it drag on. I already see alot of hate towards us, but thats to be expected. Hopefully we hear more info soon.

Well, they’re probably going to be punished in some manner for what happened, but hopefully it’s not too severe.

More BS to add to the accustomed NFL hysteria about all things Patriots??

Read a couple of articles on this incident and all conclude with the obligatory commentary on "SPYGATE" and "DEFLATEGATE"... of course.

The folks involved in this mess, although it is not wrong, needs to be held accountable for putting themselves in such a stupid situation.. they know better.

Many are jumping the gun.
How would you know this information?

I guess I don’t necessarily know this information. But it was posted repeatedly in earlier comments in the form of a story from a reporter.

I think its going to depend on whats on the tape. If nothing damning is on there I think we will be fined but not receive a massive penalty. However if the tape shows them fixated on signals then its going to be severe. Also, I found this.

Bombshell ESPN report says Patriots' 'Spygate' scandal was way worse than people realized

Eerie enough their defense is same as back then with people disguised as "Kraft Productions". Not saying it means guilt, but hoping for best.

Pretty good take but the Pats/Kraft should know they can’t take chances like this. I don’t need a documentary every season and I sure as hell don’t need my team getting another black eye in less than a year.

Well as the devil’s advocate maybe you should not be jumping the gun.

@geoffschwartz
Again, I’m not sure what the Patriots were to gain from video taping the Bengals unless they have audio of them talking about individual plays as they make adjustments on the sidelines. There are no signals anymore.

Again. They will be punished for doing nothing. If you are going to cheat, you will not tape the worst team and let the opponent know. You will not contract an crew independent from the Patriots football operations and responsible them. If they dock picks of them i am out. Many teams using cellphones, smartwatches and other stuff and nobody gives a f*ck ...

Krafts statement was so bad. I hope he gets a lifetime suspension!!! Starts from the top, get rid of our pervert owner.....but they will bring the hammer on Belichick..

I agree I don't see the gain. I definitely can agree with that. I'm just posting info I found. However, if the tape shows them stealing signals then its going to be really difficult to defend themselves. I mean focusing on them.

I don't believe for a second deflategate was real. I also believe other teams are paranoid of us. However, I wouldn't be able to defend them if that tape shows something like that. Id still love the team and will root for them, but just my opinion. I know im risking dislikes, but I feel me lying would be worse.
