Because if the tape shows something nefarious... do you honestly believe this was the first time? Again, IF it shows something nefarious.

I'll copy and paste this: Are you saying that it's possible this camera crew asked for NFL credentials in multiple weeks so that they could film sidelines under the pretense of a show on the advanced scout (and each week, to keep up the ruse, they also interviewed the scout with everyone around noticing)? Belichick left a record a mile long with all these NFL teams of having these guys credentialed? Or did they sneak into the press booth? And they concocted this ruse by hiring independent contractors? They went through all this rather than buying a ticket for a guy in the stands who could film to his heart's content? You believe this is plausible?

If you're right, then Bill Belichick is a stupid idiot.

I know I'll be bashed and misquoted again for this but I have an honest question: if it's true the crew trained their camera on the Bengals sideline for the entire 1st quarter and specifically on the signal callers, do you think there's a justified TV reason?
Yes, documentary filmmakers always shoot tons more footage than actually is used. In this case, the scout is watching the sideline and taking notes so it makes sense the film crew wants to show what he's taking notes about. Even IF the crew was doing this for football ops, I'd wonder what value just one quarter of footage might reveal independent of the scout's own observations.

Again, this is IF Russini's source is accurately claiming the video showed the Bengals sideline and coaching signals for an entire quarter. Then there's the report of the guy offering to delete the footage so all will be forgotten. I'm really hoping that was either taken out of context (e.g. he made an honest mistake out of ignorance) or it's pure BS.
I'm taking the team's official statement at face value: the crew was independently contracted and ignorant of the (now anachronistic) league rule prohibiting filming of the sideline.

It all spins around what the league punishes it as. That’s what encourages the narrative.
All they need is a Bob Kravitz type tweet stating “the Pats are in big trouble”.

What I'm failing to understand is all this talk abt stealing signals?

To me audio is the key. Is there any audio of people talking abt plays etc.

There just aren't many signals anymore & you can see all that from the A22 or even some broadcast that's lucky enough to catch it.

Imo it will be more then obvious what our intent was from watching w/e footage there is.
Im not saying we are cheaters and even if we are ill still be a fan. Im just going worst case saying if video is nefarious. If its not, all good.

Huh? No, I didn't propose any such theory. I should have quoted the posters I was responding to about a hypothetical situation. I didn't anticipate the emotional backlash it'd provoke..

Why are you getting all crazy about this? I was asking you what your theory was. No emotions involved.

He will be gone if that is the case.
I doubt it is based on what we know.
The last thing we want after twenty years of dynasty and our fan version of blood sweat and tears is to have it all tarnished Pete Rose style. The Pats rebuilt their reputation with the latest rounds of Super Bowl rings. Hate to see that get discounted and disrespected in the end.

Just trying to piece together the fact that he shot the field for a quarter, then offered to delete it all when challenged. What innocent witless video guy is going to do those things? But if he's actually say a Steelers fan with PDS, how could he resist the chance to bring down the evil empire? He'd be a PA folk hero forever. He may not have even planned it, just made it up as he went along.

There's a really obvious explanation. That's my entire point.

"I was ignant!" said the recently arrived space alien from Planet Moron

What evidence is there that the Patriots' troubles are the result of a conspiracy against them by the league?

All the lies told in Spygate and Deflategate. That's your evidence. Just one example: the judge releasing the Brady interview transcript in which he answered the questions in the affirmative that the NFL claimed he denied when it banned him for 4 games. Those were outright lies. As were the lies about the PSI of the balls. How much evidence do you actually want? I can provide a lot.

Hey More-on is a banned word!!!

If the media makes this a big story, it will be a big story. National media hates BB/Pats so here’s their chance again.

This. Spygate and Deflategate would have been non stories if the public didn't care. Honestly, when was the last time the NFL came down hard on a player/team for something that hadn't already turned into a huge story?

What's going to help in this case is it's the 1-12 Bengals. I have no doubt it would be a bigger story if the documentary was filmed before we played the Ravens, Cowboys, Chiefs, etc.

Maybe, Kraft’s lawyers can get the video evidence thrown out again.

I'm half joking, but if the same general problem had caused me this much grief, serious measures would be taken.

Serious measures to ensure the sheople were satisfied?

Moron...can I print moron? OMG...you didn't actually BAN more-on(sic) did you, PC Mod?

Let me get this straight: are you saying that it's possible this camera crew asked for NFL credentials in multiple weeks so that they could film sidelines under the pretense of a show on the advanced scout (and each week, to keep up the ruse, they also interviewed the scout with everyone around noticing)? I don't know the details. Im just saying if the tape shows something nefarious then I don't know you logically explain it. Im not even saying it is nefarious, im just saying if it is.

If Bill somehow was tied (not saying he is), my only guess is hes done this before and got arrogant/careless with how he did it. However none of this matters if tape isn't nefarious.

Be nice he just wants to be loved.

If the league was competent, they would have made the statement explaining what happened. But they would rather stir up controversy with the Patriots being called cheaters once again.
This comes out right after the botched officiating job by Boger, so Patriots go from victims to villains in less than 24 hours.
