The 1 and 12 bengals gonna end a dynasty.

The idea that they needed even the slightest help to beat those guys is what's appalling

And yet the patriots already come out and say yea, we did it.
They also stated that this was independent contractors, not the football team.

Unfortunately, I'm not overreacting at all, just being realistic. Like I said, hopefully it's nothing but if the footage is nefarious, I don't even want to think about the consequences because let's be honest, they'll be severe.

The thought process by the league likely will be since a fine and a draft pick didn't stop them the last time, they'll take the next step and punish the guy in charge. We saw it with bounty gate in New Orleans...I'd have to believe that precedent might see them strike with a similar penalty here, especially when you take into account the massive backlash that would come from every other owner throughout the league.
I do think you may be overreacting a little. But I understand why you’re concerned.

It’s just that we really have no clue what this even is yet. We haven’t gotten much out of this yet.

There are no signals any more. There is nothing to tape.

Wouldnt be the first time bill broke the rules for something that have them zero ounce of advantage

What they get out of it isnt the point, the point is did the patriots knowingly or otherwise do something so ****ing stupid, once again they they know they aren't allowed to do?

Given their official response, we know they did.

Bill's arrogance is what is gonna undo him
I agree, but I'm almost 100% sure this was Krafty Bobs doing

Most code of conduct type of things will always instruct people to not only avoid impropriety, but to avoid even the appearance of impropriety. Here we have a franchise whose reputation has been mud for the last dozen years due to inappropriate sideline signal taping. “Hey, I know! Let’s send a camera crew out there to record our advance scout for the next game in action! We have the home team’s (not our next opponent) permission, that’s all we need. What can possibly go wrong!?”

To be fair, a couple of careless errors like that is what caused the Colts' fake punt debacle.

Look I’m concerned and all, but I’m seeing way more panic and rage in here than I am on Twitter.

That’s saying something.

The one hopeful thought was that maybe the Pats statement (which absolved football ops) might be part of a deal with the NFL. The Pats have a losing hand here, but if the tape looks not bad, maybe the NFL says admit your error and we can close this up with lesser penalties. Hopefully this .... If it was really bad, I suspect the Pats might admit nothing.

Do people really think Belichick would lie about this? He could have been very vague about it.

They also stated that this was independent contractors, not the football team.

If that's the defense tuen we might as well let bill start serving that suspension now

Look, when you get to the point that the only way to explain things away is some vast conspiracy against your side, it's probably not good.

Schefter dropped the league backed nuke at halftime...I saw it, you saw it(if you're watching this crapfest). The fact the Patriots would film a complete toxic waste dump like the Bengals suggests rather strongly that they've been filming EVERY sideline under some ruse since who knows when.

You should read the Pft comments...

Fine Krafty Bob $1M

Lends credence to the idea that being insulted and harassed over and over can really **** with your mind.

Belichick outright denied it. He has nothing to do with it.

Geoff Schwartz is not a former Patriot and is a prominent media member. I hope his opinion catches on.

And yes, Twitter is pretty dead. This thread is way more active.

But isn’t it Kraft this time? Seems like it’d involve ownership more than Bill this time.
I'm sure there may be a fine, which would obviously hurt Kraft and if I recall correctly, Bill was also personally fined the last time. But if this were to ultimately turn into anything, I'd be surprised if the league didn't suspend him this time.

What "vast conspiracy" was asserted the team?
