I agree and everything can change in the playoffs. Think the Pats of last year or the Giants of 2007 and 2011 (I can't believe I said that).
This offensive personnel pales in comparison. Last year we emphasized the power game in the playoffs, but it had worked all season—only emphasis changed. This year nothing is working. The losses of Gronk, Brown, Allen, Develin, Brown and Andrews were massive. As a result, they have been unable to run all year. Maybe that can change but it is hard to see why it should. In the passing game, there is no production from TEs or any receiver not named Edelman.

So what can change? Harry and Sanu could play more, I suppose. Karras could return. But that doesn’t quite sound like the ingredients for a fearsome offense. I just hope that Bill can see something we cannot.

What play are you talking about? The Harry non-TD was at the end of the 3rd quarter...
Another poster said it wasn't reviewed because (according to him) booth-initiated reviews only happen in the final two minutes. I expressed my understanding that that is not the case, that booth reviews are the only kind of review that can happen in the final two minutes, but that they can also happen at other times.

I also gave the example of last week's game when O'Brien called a timeout to get the booth to initiate a review, which they did; my recollection is that that play did not happen during the final two minutes of either half, but I could be wrong.

The pats will get screwed again watch that’s why you can’t leave it up to the refs. Had a chance to jump on them early and failed. This offense time and time again can’t get it done when it matters.

Didn't O'Brien call a timeout just last week to get NY to review a play that occurred outside of the last two minutes? Pretty certain that was not in the last two minutes of either half.
No.
They review every scoring play and turnover. In the last 2 minutes only the booth can review. Outside of the last 2 minutes the booth cannot review, a team must challenge.

Not gonna comment on Boger. It is what it is.

The difference in the game were both turnovers. Might seem like a hot take but too bad this defense is wasted on this offense.

Sucks for Harry that there was no way of making his TD stand but then at the same time you scratch your head that they had no red zone packages for him ready. No fade, no backshoulder nothing.

Overall, McD didnt call a bad game but I dont get their plan with Harry at all. How can there be not a single package for him at all ? Why do you draft someone with his skills if you dont use them where he excels ? Instead he gets benched for bad execution on an under route which already was an issue in college. No clue..

Similarly for my taste they are giving up on the run game way too fast in those games.

Sanu is clearly still hobbled. Curious if his snap count went up from last week.

Cant wait for the A22, best thing about losing games.

Agree with a lot of points in this post. I guess Harry got hurt...I was really wondering why he wouldn’t have been a red zone target.

In general, I think they always abandon the run way too quickly when things go south. Maybe one of my bigger gripes with McDaniels. Been that way for many years.

I also don’t understand what the heck they’re doing with Sanu. It’s downright stupid to keep playing him while clearly hurt. They could’ve rested him for three straight, and probably see the same results in the W/L column.

So that's what I was referring to earlier, the NFL's new ability to call a booth review of a play (which got the Jets a win today). And this was on ****ing pass interference that wasn't called on the field (which after countless booth reviews this year is never found after the fact).

Hmm, wonder why they didn't call down a review in the Pats game.

The booth can only call down within the final 2 minutes of either half and initiate a review...at no other point in the game can they do that.

The biggest travesty about us losing, in large part due to the refs, is that I lost my opportunity to mock people here for quitting on the team mid game, including multiple people who started threads as the game was going on.

Oh well, I’m sure I’ll have that opportunity during the playoffs! Not sure if I’ll be drinking more or less then.

Sweet, I wasn't aware this was the well-reasoned and rational thinking place. Thought it was for venting. My apologies.
It’s for discussion but if you want to make comments like we should stop drafting OL who get injured after they get drafted you should be prepared that people find it stupid.

You’re definitely wrong, there can’t be booth reviews outside of two minutes. Even I know that and I only have two degrees, not five...

At the end of the day the Pats lost, but even if they won ,the best they could have done is the 2 seed which they still have a shot at. It's the way they lost that's worrisome.

Because the bad calls against the patriots were not in the final 2 minutes.

BTW,,,THIS is NOT pass interference...just so all of you know going forward

incredible...and yes it did make a difference even though they got a 1st down later on..It would have been 1st and goal from the 4

The way the Patriots are playing, none of the next three games is a gimmee.
I don't see any reinforcements coming.
