Sanders' impact has reached mythic proportions, but reality was quite different. Indy's run defense was just as lousy with Sanders that regular season as it was without. What changed in the playoffs was that they changed the responsibilities of the DEs. Instead of playing pass and rushing upfield, they crashed down and played run first. I suppose someone could say that Sanders' return allowed this change, but they didn't do it with Sanders earlier in the year.

The other big factor is that Indy faced unimaginative offenses with meager passing attacks. Neither KC or Baltimore seemed to notice the change. KC, in particular, didn't run play action a single first down all game. It was embarrassing to watch even as someone with no real rooting interest. It was also clear that, had Indy faced San Diego, they were going to get steamrolled, Sanders or no Sanders.

Sanders was a beast during that playoff run. He was hurt almost all year, came in and then was filling gaps like a madman. He was simply awesome.

I don't care how bad we think the chiefs defense is because Patriots offense is much worse. This may end up being a 2 or 3 TD win by KC.

Bottom line, Sony must have a big game, 120+ yds w/ 2 TDs.

Just win baby.

Damien Harris romps for 260 yds and 3TD's ....
Elandon Roberts catches 2 TD passes .... as Patriots roll.

I know this makes no sense at all but I'm more worried about the defense than I am the offense. Healthier Sanu, JE11, Myers and 2 backs will shred them. Good win boys!

Stop bumping old threads @fnordcircle and start the damn SB post game thread already. Am ready to celebrate 7.

Chiefs got robbed by an awful call. Empty win.

Best halftime show evah!!

Who would’ve expected AB to hire that plane so he could parachute in and land on the 50 yard line??

I just hope the Staties don’t hurt the poor guy too much in custody. They looked a bit rough.

I can't believe Andy Reid ate that entire 2ft sub in 3 minutes

Give brady at least 5 td passes to break goobers record

Bringing back Kerry Gilpin, Richard McKeon, and AB for the same ceremony was risky from a public relations standpoint, but hey why not?

Pass me what the OP is smoking...because in less than 12 hours, I'll need it.
(If no passy the dutchy, then I have my own waiting for me anyway.)
