I am beginning to think it may not be a case of just the flu. BB hardly goes out of his way to praise people after a game for playing through injury or pain, but he was overly effusive after the Cowboys game to the extent that I fear Cannon may be dealing with something more serious. My fear specifically is a possible recurrence. I hope it is not the case, but his play this year is so far off from his usual self that age alone can't explain.

It may just be a flu that has lasted over 18 days and not worry too much. Hoping for the best for Cannon.

Word is he got the herp.

Does herp make that so weak that you can't put on your uniform? When I heard things like that, it took my mind towards post chemo weakness.
Thanks for the heads up. Where did you hear this?

Out indefinitely, mononucleosis

Dude played through the Ebola. That man is a beast.

Yeah. I’ve started thinking the same thing when I saw he was still being listed as “illness”. :(

In an interview with a reporter after the DAL game he said his entire family had "it". No idea what "it" is but I first assumed it was the flu. My impression is what hes been trying to kick is something else as this is the 3rd week of whatever he is dealing with.

Bad case of pinkeye.

Dude spends more time on his back than a porn star. Might just need to spend more time on his feet.

I’m beginning to think some of the replying posters don’t know what his condition was during his rookie year that kept him out.

I certainly hope it is not a relapse.

I’m sure they do. Humor is still allowed even if someone has had cancer.

There's literally as much proof that it's bad herpes as there is that it's a relapse of cancer, especially considering the rest of the Patriots team was also dealing with flu-like symptoms. The point of the joke responses was that this thread is very weird baseless **** slinging.

It was from a nasty cheese grating accident as a young man

I thought the herpes claim was a joke?

Not sure a bad case of herpes would have received the Belichick hero treatment in a postgame press conference. The last time I can ever recall him ever speaking about a player's condition as a mark of bravery was............2011 - Cannon's rookie year when he was getting treatments.

Anyone who has even a cursory understanding of BB pressers to the media for 20+ years knows that THIS was different than a guy getting herpes......

It may be nothing at all, but the OP certainly has a point. I'm certainly hoping it has nothing to do with what Cannon had in the past. Hopefuly the guy just has had a hellacious case of the flu that he is getting over. It's been about 3 weeks at this point. Not sure, but I seem to think he had to be taken out of the Eagles game.
