What happened the week before, when he threw for 180 yards and completed 55% of his passes?

Tyreek missed most of the game with a hamstring. It happens. I’m just telling you that in my opinion if your plan to win is that mahomes can’t throw the intermediate and deep ball now, then you need a better plan.

I think it’s likely you win the game for other reasons, but that’s way down the list of things I’m worried about.

These excuses (weather, injuries) can be applied to any team, including the Patriots' passing game, as an explanation for any struggles.

Also, it's not a gameplan. It's an observation. KC's offense is not as explosive as last year, or as explosive as it was in September. The matchup on that side of the ball wont be as challenging for NE as it was last season.

Nevermind the fact that Hill and Mahomes missed significant time this year...they are still averaging 29 PPG and ranked 3rd in the NFL. I'm sure BB is in the lockerroom right now telling the team not to take Mahomes and the Chiefs seriously...

Most of their losses this season have been with Mahomes in the lineup.

This has nothing to do with season totals or averages. Their offense today is not the offense they fielded in September. They had several monster games on offense early on without Hill in the lineup. So him missing time doesn't explain their recent struggles.

Bill would have his team preparing hard for a winless squad. No one is being overlooked by the team here.

Tell us more about how the 2018 team wouldn't sniff anything close to a Super Bowl.

I rewatched the AFCCG and came away thinking David Andrews was the best player on the field in the first half. Gronk was also a huge factor, as well as Develin. Paterson starting us off at the 36 in OT, as well as a clutch end around.

I'm always optimistic within reason, but it's hard to rationalize the Patriots getting back to that level of offense this season with the way the "secondary options" are playing

I think the Pats should be 3-4 point underdogs this week as opposed to a 3 point favorite.

First and foremost this defense needs to perform as the top unit in football. Period. If you don't want to properly allocate resources to WR/TE, after losing pro bowl TE,FB,C,KR then the identity of this team needs to stamp it's name as an all time legendary defense, case closed.

Brady is Brady. Nothing has changed since he looked slow and old dropping that pass in Super Bowl 2 years ago. He set the passing record that day. The next year he completed tight window zip passes on 3rd and 10, 3rd and 9, 3rd and 10, to send us to the SB. He is a blessing.

The offense needs to pound the rock. Maybe it's time for Harris to get 20 carries out of the blue to ignite things. Edelman is still playing at a high level and White proved he is still fully alive and kicking. The complementary pieces need to stake a claim of ownership of this team.

Sanu, Harry, Dorsett, and Meyers.... this is on you...

Brady Edelman and the defense are big personalities, they can't sit back and take secondary roles. They need to play with the confidence of past Patriots and rise to the occasion. They can do it.
This.

Nothing has changed overall about the amount of points the Chiefs are scoring between September and now - maybe a slight dip in output but that's about it. In the past 4 games, they've averaged 30 PPG, while it was 35 PPG in September. In the 2 games Mahomes missed, the Chiefs averaged 25 PPG.

And why don't you tell us about how you knew the Patriots were going to win the super bowl last year, bandwagoner? Oh wait...you weren't here.

The Pats may very well slow the Chiefs down on Sunday, but it won' t be easy like you make it out to be. Its foolish to look at stats alone and say it won't be as challenging as last year.

Who is looking only at stats? I clearly outlined weaknesses in their offense and how the Patriots can take advantage of them.

Their pass blocking has been bad, especially up the middle. The Patriots terrorized that interior OL in the AFCCG, and they'll do so again.

Their run game has been weak, and it won't be a factor.

Mahomes hasn't handled pressure well in his last two games, and has made numerous inaccurate throws.

On top of that, NE finally figured out how to stop Hill in the AFCCG, and they've always handled Kelce well. DMac/Jones on Hill again, Gilmore alternating between Watkins and Kelce, JC alternating between Kelce and Hardman. JMac on Robinson, with Chung covering the RBs out of the backfield.

I'll take that matchup all day.

Regardless of the stats, the Chiefs can put up points on you quickly. Their weapons are far superior to Houston's and we saw what happened. That's why they play the game. Hey, if they shut down the Chiefs as you seem to insinuate, I'll be happy.

Sounds easy.

As soon as you're been here for more than 10 minutes, you'll find that part of having any post history at all is an occasional bad take that will age poorly. At which point it will only be fitting for some random noob that you've never heard of to take a weird victory lap over it.

The point is that people have not learned anything from last year where the team was declared dead and how that year just "felt different" after losing the Steelers game and falling to 9-5. Only to win a title about 2 months later.

Instead we get to hear the same old stories repeated this year when after falling to 10-2 everything is over and a championship impossible. Because THIS TIME IT IS DIFFERENT.

The irony is that 90% of posters get outraged about the annual Kellerman statement about Brady and the cliff but don't realize their own annual Kellerman moments. There is no ribbon or banner for being the first one to call the correct ending to their run.

I bet the Colts did this because they knew we needed a kicker...now they've got AV and Mclaughlin on their roster.

Yeah they got an old, injured liability who might end up on IR and a rookie kicker. Time for a banner.

Not to look ahead, but even if we happen to lose vs KC, we’d most likely go 13-3 as I doubt we’d lose vs BUF. That would be considered a down” year for us! Think about that. We are truly spoiled.

Their collective illness Sunday deceived Kellerwimp and his ilk of the team's imminent demise.

These talking heads are terribly mistaken.
