To Everyone Blaming Brady

I don’t know if Chatham was just cherry picking a couple of obvious plays he noticed because every QB in the league will have those every game. I know having Matt LaCosse open a few yards short of a first down is certainly not an obvious gimme in Brady’s mind. LaCosse has to catch the ball pick up the yardage (I assume a defender somewhere in the vicinity there, though the angle was hard to tell.). So yes, Brady missed the open guy, but the open guy is worst pass catcher on the field, too.

In this instance, none of these absolve Brady. It wasn't 3rd or 4th down, so concern about whether Lacosse will get a first is irrelevant. Lacosse being a good receiver has minimal bearing on this particular play as well. It's not like Tom has to decide if Lacosse can win a match up, the route combo does that for him. If Julian is doubled, then Lacosse is the read. If Brady really doesn't like what he sees, then he needs to look on tue other side of the field. What he can't do in this situation is give away free yards by forcing an uncatchable ball to Edelman.

Fwiw, the defender off screen is not particularly close. The catch will not be contested and the first down is almost a gimmee.

First of all, chumly, it wasn't a slant route. It was an IN route. Next, Roby broke AROUND Harry and was able to do that because he recognized the play and read Brady and they weren't engaged.

Why don't you post the link. And I'll post the one that shows it was an IN route and not a SLANT.

N'Keal Harry Essentially Benched After Allowing Interception On Slant
BTW, here is what Harry said: "“Um … I mean, I guess I could’ve used my body more,” Harry said, according to NBC Sports Boston. “But like I said I haven’t watched it on film. I gotta see it first.”

That's not the damning "faulting himself" you think it is..

The same leverage concepts apply on slants, in cuts, and crossers. Harry gave up the leverage, let Roby in, and the result was the pick. Want to know why you can’t lose that leverage on those route concepts over the middle? Because of exactly what happened in the game. The fact that Roby was able to get around Harry, as you readily admit yourself, was because Harry didn’t have that leverage. That’s the first thing you’re taught at a very elementary level as a receiver. Finally, HARRY ADMITTED IT HIMSELF. You even posted it. Why you’re arguing this point when the culprit himself said he could have used his body more, which is exactly what gaining leverage on that route is, would be anyone’s guess. But you’re clearly incorrect. Perhaps someone should tell Harry that DaBruinz, a fat guy posting on PatsFans.com, knows that Harry didn’t have to use his body more and Harry was wrong in that assertion.

Find it interesting that 31 other teams would not take a chance on him.. did you see his tweets on Sunday Night?? The Antonio Brown ship has really sailed this time..

31 other teams won’t sign him now because he’s likely to go directly to Exempt List. It’s pointless. It wasn’t pointless to have him 10 weeks ago with time to resolve his discipline.

I like the team, have since day one. What I don't like is the NYFL's horrendous treatment of Brady and our team. I cannot continue to support the NYFL in any way once Brady's gone. In every war there are casualties and the Patriots will be one of those.

I dumped MLB 20 years ago and I haven't missed a thing about it. The same will most likely happen when I dump the NYFL.

Not sure I will ever dump them, but will probably be less enthusiastic.. inow will miss a game without VCR'ing it, miss the opportunity to be among insane crowds in the beating sun or stay up until midnite to watch a late game..

Hard to defend him. Yes, he has new rookie receivers that are not up to speed. He has a few veteran receivers that are not up to speed...and he has Edelman who is up to speed.
Brady said a few mos. ago, "I don't know what they (rookie receivers) can do for me and I don't know what I can do for them". The answer is easy. They can get open and you can get them the damn ball. Brady's petulance when they run the wrong route or don't get all the intricacies after the route begins is something not to be tolerated by any of us. Hmm, For $23m/year he can do better. What to do? How about getting his ass to the early training camps to work with these new guys instead of cliff jumping with his daughter. How about taking them aside after practice to work with them...every practice and watch them improve. Brady has a 20 year head start on the playbook, could probably write if from memory. The new guys have about 20 weeks of the playbook. 12 mos. ago these rookies were still in college. Brady seems to have forgotten what it was like when he was a rookie...seems like an old cranky man who sits at the counter complaining that the soup is to hot.
I hope he doesn't treat his kids the way he treats the rookies. Seems like if they don't 'get it' he is ready to toss them.
FWIW, these are the players he has to work with for the rest of the year. Tossing his helmet and yelling at them won't help them improve. A little maturity and patience would go a long way. Sadly it seems Brady is becoming a bit of a Diva. Never, ever thought he would put his personal crap above the team but it certainly looks that way.

Bunch of threads on this already, discussed extensively.. might want to cut and paste it onto there.

Not sure I would call Brady a "Diva", as his abilities decline the passion you saw Sunday night is not new as long time fans have seen this many times..

Calling the GOAT a "baby" is really poor form.. might want to change the title..

And the award for worst thread of the day goes to...

I’d call him highly competitive, far from a baby.

he is tb, he can do wtf he wants

I thought this thread was going to have pics of a young TB.... Talk about not delivering

People have zero memory and zero loyalty. The Pats were even worse last year and nobody gave them a shot. The team is 10-2. Have some faith for christ sake. Brady's NFL year has ended up in the SB 50% of the time and 60%+ in the AFCGC. Honestly, this team and these players deserve better fans than some of the morons on this board.

...seems like an old cranky man who sits at the counter complaining that the soup is too hot.
...and you seem the type to want to pass out participation trophies, hugs, and hot cocoa to the new guys even when they screw up, as long as they "tried real hard". We must at all times keep them in their safe space!

Welcome to the board chief fan. Nice troll.

76 posts to this forum, I have a suspicion how the the other 75 went.

If Brady didn't complain in '06, what makes you think he'd complain too loudly now? And you bring in a comment about his kids/parenting style?

Ian is a far kinder person than I am for allowing this type of dribble to be kept. Keep complaints to the player and not the man, please.

Why did you decide to ****post?

At the end of the day, no one can take criticism of another personally. I’m not going to criticize Brady because there’s no need to. It won’t change anything.

But I can’t feel offended if some do. It’s like being embarrassed. One can only feel their own embarrassment, we can’t feel that for someone else’s actions.

Brady isn't 100% of the problem but sure is at least a third, 33%. I am unhappy with lack of WRs, TEs, and offensive linemen, therefore Kraft and BB are part of the problem, 33% each. Brady should have left on a high .
