How Can the Pats Stop the Ravens?

Well unlike us KC can score in 59 seconds with their Speed on O. So hope KC plays them in one of those rounds. So KC might be a bad bad match-up for the Ravens. One Team that like to hold the Ball and another who can score Fast Hmmmmm.

Yeah but their D is going to get stomped on...

ah yes...just waiting for the official Jankles capitulation. Why even play the schedule, eh Junkles? In fact, why do you even continue to play being a real "Pats" fan on this board? You hate everything about the Patriots and insult everybody who has the temerity to disagree with your incessant sniping. Here's an idea...you come out of the bird's nest and admit YOU are a Ravens fan and we'll stay Patriots fans...and if the two teams meet, may the better team win...but just stop the moronic libels against the Patriots and their loyal fans here.

Very simple: deploy the boogiemen on every snap. The moving, fluid line will mess up their gap and zone blocking schemes.

This seems like a reasonable take after how well our defense did the first time around

No offense, but KC isn't going to be anywhere near the AFC Championship. They simply cannot compete with Baltimore.
I'll love to see them play again in the Divisional Round KC @ Baltimore! The Chiefs has had their number in the last few matchups! Not that those games will have any bearing on a potential playoff rematch. Andy Reid vs John Harbaugh is always a chess ♟ match!

There was a loud minority of sports writers (I joined them here and elsewhere) that were strong Jackson fans during the 2018 draft. However, the consensus was that he was a big risk and not that good.

If San Fran doesn't find the key, maybe the Bills will--they can be a tough at home... maybe in snow storm or blizzard.

If we are at full strength and we happen to meet again, we need to go up tempo, no huddle for a few drives. Tire their D out, do not let them substitute and win a shootout if need be. I have hope we can do that !

And Andy Reed is good for Playoff win but will choke when it really counts.

Watch what the 49ers do next week.
Copy it.

LJ is truly a breath of fresh air and so exciting to watch. The most dynamic offensive player to come into the league in a long time. The fact that we passed over him for Sony makes it very painful to think what could have been. Many were 100% hoping the pats would pick LJ at that spot.
Its not just LJ, although he makes every one on that team better.

They have solid lines on both sides of the ball. Kudos to Harbaugh for having the vision and imagination to transform his team so quickly. Right now the Ravens are the best team in the NFL and its not even close. That could change with just 1 or 2 injuries, but very impressed with Raven's perfectly executed plan to make their team a championship contender

I assume this was supposed to be directed at me.

I would start with the old warm lemonade trick and take it from there.

Ends need to help stop run, bat balls and contain rather then think sack. Pressure must come up the middle. Blitz off the edge and creep safety up on the opposite side. Lean on Gilmore island.

Figure out what his moves are when responding to certain blitzes and have ends adjust positioning accordingly in anticipation to trap him. Full head of steam will get us burned.

If Lamar is healthy the only way to stop that offense is by shutting down his ability to run. If he can not run, everything else falls apart quickly on that offense. Most likely this would take three semi spies one in the middle like Collins and someone really fast on each edge like Jones and JC jackson. I do think the Chargers had it right when they plaid a 4-1-6. For Pats Collins would be the 1, Jones and JC jackson as edge spies
This would leave Pats vulnerable to Ingram and Edwards running up the middle though.

Just wanted to know everyone's thoughts on how the Pats can beat the Ravens. Obviously, they are our biggest roadblock to SB 54...they look unreal right now, but I'd like to think Bill will come up with something in the rematch. Do we have anyone who can spy Jackson? Maybe Collins? Our Run D is ranked 10th in the league and they have a great running game. That could be a problem.
Without going into an entire game plan, first we will have a completely different game plan than the first time which was a basic game plan not really tailored to a wildcat like offense.
When they come out in 1 wr we need to play 4-4 with 2 safeties and 1 corner. The interior needs to mix it up one gap, 2 gap, slant, etc to confuse the blocking scheme. LBs need to attack the TE/Fb and play 2 gap discipline on them while not letting them release for 3 yard passes. Beating the te/fb blocks is a key. When they run option reads the optioned defender needs to 100% of the time plant Jackson in the ground.
Make them throw on passing downs rather than on running downs when the dual threat running game leaves the first read wide open a few yards downfield.

Offensively we need to run the ball more and get chunk plays in the passing game. The no huddle worked and will again. If we are healthy we will score a lot of points against that defense.

No one has held them under 100 yards rushing this season. They already have over 2200 yards rushing and 5 games remaining. The only way to slow down their offense is by stopping the run but no one has done it to this point in 2019. They have a two headed monster.

If you play a 4-1-6 they will run for 500 yards.

Our offense has to show some consistency before i believe they can put up a lot of points on that ravens defense. They have 5 games remaining to shore up that offense otherwise it could get very complicated in the playoffs.

Someone, which will be Belichick if it doesn’t happen first will adjust to what they do and stop it. The wildcat was unstoppable at first. This is a glorified wildcat with a very good ol and excellent blocking TEs and fb. You aren’t going to stop that by playing what you run against everyone else. But it absolutely can be stopped.
