AB toying with us again

You’re being harmed by an abusive relationship! He’s taking you for granted. Leave him before it’s too late!!!! You have qualities he just doesn’t appreciate in you!

.

I'm a weak, self conscious woman for him. Yes! Now get him over here when we can lmao - I'll take that

That’s actually an excellent analogy.

.
I mean, going into the 01 season Terry had drug AND domestic issues. The NFL suspended him. He came back in Oct. Played great vs SD. BB then deactivated him for the rest of Oct and Nov for being naughty. In Dec he comes back and plays in a couple of games then turns into a jerk again. BB then deactivates him for the rest of the year. Pats also held back on his bonus.

How incredible would it be if AB comes back in Dec only to be deactivated so another team can't pick him up?

History truly repeating itself.

.....I'm hoping that Sanu and Dorsett can stay off the field and get well, and that the Pats can win another one with scotch tape this week and be better health for the next game in Houston......

Where’s that Ron Paul flashing lights “It’s Happening” gif when I need it??????? :D

Man, AB should consider dating someone from here, he'd be set! He could leave you in a week and you wouldn't stop loving and supporting him for a year.

(breathes deeply)

1) There was a report, only yesterday, which stated that the NFL investigation is not complete, and doesn’t expect to be completed for another few weeks. In other words, he isn’t eligible to play. Still.

2) Since he’s basically admitted to knowing about the pending lawsuit prior to signing here, it solidifies the team’s stance in terms of winning their case and getting a salary cap credit in 2020.

On point 2, IANAL, but he was barred from discussing anything with the Patriots in regards to the lawsuit, so it’ll be interesting how it plays out

The investigation may take weeks but he's not currently suspended, right? Is the assumption that if he were signed the NFL would suspend him immediately?

It seems to be the assumption of posters here.

I am not quite sure how he could be barred from discussing anything about the possible, at that time, lawsuit. I have seen that thrown around a lot as a possible excuse, and I guess I could possibly see specifics maybe being covered, but I can't imagine a case where someone couldn't tell a potential employer, just so you know, there is a pending civil lawsuit out there.

I'm not going to argue for or against AB coming back or not but I was encouraged from what I saw last night from the offense. It was the first time this season that I thought they have enough offensively to compliment the defense against any team in the league and they'll get better. So I disagree with your "anemic" assessment.
Time will tell. The running game is still weak af. Yesterday they were okay but the Dallas run D sucks.

We’ll rise from anemic to mediocre when Sanu returns. Maybe that’s enough but it’s feel far safer to have an All-Pro receiver dominating.

This is a nightmare scenario ... Pats resign him, league does nothing... He plays 3/4 games, gets acclimated into the offense, becomes a major part... then they suspend him?

That would be worse than if they never had brought him back...

at this point, it is just not worth the trouble... If the team wants to sit down at the negotiating table with him in the off season to see of they can work out their differences? they won't, i'm pretty sure... but that would be ok ... In as much as our offense needs a spark this year, at this time, AB ain't it.

I just remember watching the Miami game and thinking that it is almost unfair to give Brady a talent like this to throw to...…..

And then poof, just like that it was an unhappy ending.;)

This case against AB is clearly a money grab, the thing that makes me think it would be impossible to bring him back would be the contract and agreeing to abandon his grievance. I could see both the league and the union having serious issues with whatever contract the Pats and AB would come to.

Kraft should have let the league suspend him, it would have been worked out by now, it would not have tarnished the image of the Patriots. At least not as much as allowing your franchise QB to be railroaded all while your owner is bending over and taking it from the league while screaming "thank you Roger, may I have another".

I wish they would bring him back!

The league strongly hinted at this when they released a statement that it wouldn’t be necessary or appropriate to place him on the exempt list since he wasn’t currently signed with a team. It’s unlikely that anyone would touch him until they have a better idea as to what’s going on. There are at least two separate accusations, pending lawsuits and such.

It seems to be the assumption of posters here.
I think that assumption goes way beyond any posters on the patsfans forum, though. It seems to extend to the entire league—coaches, GMs, owners, etc. Otherwise, someone would have signed him by now, right? The Seahawks and the Ravens of the world won’t even take a chance.

It’s plural, as in “cases,” (there’s also the issue with the possibly threatening texts that came with one of the cases) and we have no idea as to whether or not he’d have the situation worked out by now. It was a complicated situation where an investigation was obviously going to take some time. We saw the league take their good old time with both the Brady and Elliot cases, so I’m not sure why we would assume that the Brown case (with multiple accusations) would have not only been completed within a couple of months, but that he’d be found innocent without having to serve any punishment? I think it’s much more likely that any investigation and subsequent punishment would have taken us through the season, and that is exactly what may happen.

Also, why would the team want to pay him lots of money when he couldn’t see the field, especially after they were smart enough to include a two week trial period before his bonus became due, which would have been the Monday after they released him? They cut him because it was looking like he wasn’t going to be allowed to play and they wanted to try and win their grievance where they see a cap credit for 2020.

I think AB should be brought back because a 42 year old six time Super Bowl champion QB wants him back. Brady needs to be motivated to keep playing. It seems this year has been a grind for him it feels like maybe this is the end for him. He deserves every available weapon in the arsenal to go out a winner with number 7. Brown hasn’t committed a crime. Doesn’t seem like a great guy but an unreal football talent. Welcome to the real world snowflakes. Honestly to this point seems like the NFL is engaging in near collusion to me. We’re already paying him. We might as well pay him. I’m not worried about the damage in bringing him back. I’m more worried in the damage of not bringing him back. How does the legacy of Brady look if he suits up for someone else or calls it quits because of a spat with ownership. That’s not how this should end. This should be a football decision. Until I hear Bill say he doesn’t want AB I’ll continue to think this is about Krafts ego. Brady has sacrificed as much as anyone for this team. Kraft threw him under the bus to appease the NFL during Deflategate. They talk about the Patriot way and team first. Now it’s Krafts turn.... if he can go to bat for fn Meek Mill he can certainly go out on a limb for TB12 and get him what he wants. The rest of the league doesn’t like your team Bob. Nothing will change that. Get off the high horse and accept and embrace that. And seriously if you’re caught getting Handy’s you should expect some public shaming it comes with the territory. I personally find it a little disturbing And somewhat embarrassing the lengths our owner gots to to be part of pop culture. If he was the owner of Hobby Lobby I could see him putting his foot down over AB on moral grounds. He’s not. He’s partying with rappers and getting rub and tugs from Filipinas. There is no moral high ground from which to stand. If we come up short this year with no AB and Tom calls it quits Kraft will gain nothing in the press and warrant blame from the fan base. Let’s give Tom what he needs to win number 7. The defense and special teams may not be able to carry us the rest of the way. AB would certainly help.

The lawsuit was pursued because the arbitration they were in was unsuccessful. It had run it's course and the arbitration NDA was no longer binding. A case could be made to absolve Rosenhaus due to the agent/client relationship but Brown was free to disclose his knowledge that Taylor's attorneys had informed him a suit was pending, he chose not to.

Welcome to the forum Bobby, but OMFG. There’s too much here to address in one post.
