Not trying to predict the end of the world but maybe the methods of the past are not going to work the same. I think BB/JM/TB are second to none as history only shows , change is going to happen and it maybe painful but maybe we have just lucked out this year and it will be a tough one........yeah we are 9 and 1 and will progress it's just an ugly year......It is a cliche but I hope there is a better long term plan

idk Sanu moving decently for someone with what was called a "high ankle sprain"

Bring back Antonio Brown, instant 21+ points Sunday...

Maybe it is the case of ......yes he can play but is there a risk he could make it worse and be out for longer......is this game worth the risk ?

I know the offense looks awful, but let's keep things level here. This team is 9-1, and it won the Super Bowl last year and 3 of the last 5 years. The "methods of the past" are working just fine in the present.

That's why you release him at the end of the year...we needed him for depth

There are only 53 roster slots available. You can't have infinite depth.

They decided to give the snaps to younger players that will still be around in the next 2-3 years instead. It is not like Gordon was setting the world on fire and the delta between him and Meyers and Henry will be smaller every week.

But I guess this needs to be said every week.

God I hate ankle sprains. Often not serious enough to stop the player from practicing / playing which just increases the recovery time and reaggravation rate.

You almost prefer some kind of injury that definitely keeps someone out 2 weeks because it just needs to heal up.

Yes, and since they moved on right away, the reason must have been deemed sufficient to move on right away. This really isn't hard.

There may well be a perfectly legitimate reason to have moved off of Gordon, but "the kids need playing time", and its progeny, sure as hell isn't that.

Looks pretty good to me too, but NFL speed > practice speed....and you gotta cut to get open...

I think the Pats are being overly cautious because this game is a NFC game and the @HOU/KC games are far more valuable for seeding purposes....

That's out of desperation they would be foolish too make him play. LaGlasse have a ankle Injury since week one look how he's progressed since.

I know people probably don't mean it this way, but I love the idea that "Man, Brady must be SO FRUSTRATED by the weapons around him!" As though everyone else in the organization is perfectly fine with it. Like Belichick wanted Brown to go full bonehead, or drafted Harry knowing he'd be hurt for the first 9 weeks and didn't care, or played Newhouse because he loves the guy and not because they had multiple veteran backups retire in training camp. Maybe Josh McDaniels intentionally called the trick play against the Eagles so that Dorsett would get concussed? Or perhaps they shipped Gordon out for no reason other than to make Brady sweat?

Seriously, I have no doubt Brady is frustrated by what's happened, but the connotation there is that he has some beef with management for putting him in this position. A management that built a top defense in the league, traded for a starting WR at the deadline, and has drafted offense with their last three first rounders. We've been snake bitten on offense. There's only so much more we can throw on the fire before we're burning pieces of our house.

My thoughts on Sunday's game:

a.) If we see the Cowboys OL "turn the jerseys" of our DL-men early on....I think we will be in for a long day.

b.)We need to stop the run without secondary help because the Cowboys do have legit receivers in Cooper, Gallup, and Cobb...as well as Witten.

c.) Prescott can also run the ball as well.

d.) Offensively, I am not sure what the hell we will do....but I am thinking more James White, Rex Burkhead, and Brandon Bolden with passes behind the LOS and on draws all day. We can't depend on Meyers and Harry too much.....and we know Edelman will be doubled all day.

We're not exactly in a rebuilding mode, and it's not like Meyers and Harry (not sure who Henry is in your post but I take it this is who you were talking about) are lighting it up either. In contrast, Gordon had 720 yards and 3 TDs last year. His potential to contribute this year is much higher than Meyers and Harry. Brady has said many many times he prefers to play with a consistent set of guys. If you are shuffling players in and out all the time it's tough.

???

Outside of FB, everything is as people worried about all offseason.

WR depth
OT depth
TEs from top down

This isn't a series of freak accidents. The team deliberately traded away both Thomas and Gordon. The team chose to cut Brown when it wasn't necessary. The team has chosen not to draft TEs, or to bring in quality younger TEs via FA. The team had an OT retire on it pretty much as soon as he signed, and then failed to better address that problem, despite having most of the offseason to do so.

That's all coaching/management.

Who to believe?

I just checked out NFL Redzone and saw a current headline that claims Sanu will miss multiple games according to Tom Curran.

WEEI, NESN has him at practice although limited.

IMO Curran has replaced Felger as the local media leader in finding negative stories to promote every week.

Why is reporting that a player could be missing a couple of games because of a sprain a "negative story" of any sort? Getting that sort of information is precisely what reporters are supposed to be doing. It's literally their job. Reporting is that Sanu has a sprain that'll cost him a little bit of time on the shelf. He was at the practice but didn't take part in any drills. That's perfectly consistent.

Sanu didn’t participate in the few drills we were permitted to watch. Dorsett did, but he’s not wearing a shell under his jersey, which suggests no competitive drills for him. pic.twitter.com/s9Vs7sGmtp

#Patriots had 100 percent attendance at practice. Mohamed Sanu (14) was an observer during positional drills during the portion of practice open to the media. pic.twitter.com/j7UXy7U1BU

But, take heart:

While Phillip Dorsett missed practice yesterday due to a concussion, there's midweek optimism he could be cleared in time for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, per source. Of course, with concussions, there's no straight line to recovery, but the optimism is a good sign.

Is is amazing how I have soured on him in a short time. He was alright too. In fact since Mayo left to coach, he has been trending downwards and has not yet reached rock bottom.
