As much as I absolutely hate to say it, Brady has not been playing well this year.

Brady is fine. It’s the O-line that has turned him into a contestant for “Dancing with the Stars”. Anybody that has played QB knows how distracting it is to think about someone in your face which forces you to take your off of your receivers.

Bad O-line play doesn’t allow plays to develop which is why you see Brady throw the ball in the dirt. I joke about him doing this but this why.

The WR’s aside from Edelman and occasionally Dorsett can’t get open on a consistent basis. AB is a rare talent and can get open off the snap. That game in Miami where he was leaving dudes in that dust was a huge tease to Brady.

Sanu is a veteran that can help but don’t expect him to be a #1 type WR. He’s decent at best.

Harry will eventually get more looks.
Frankly when my team is a SB contender who will need to rely on the GOAT QB to win another one and that GOAT QB is 42 years old I’m perfectly fine that he rushes throws or throws the ball away when pass blocking breaks down in regular season games, particularly while the team is 9-1 with 179 point differential.
I’m sure we could have better stats and win by a little more if he didn’t abandon plays when the OL acted like a sieve but when you are the key to a ring and you are 42 preservation is more important than winning 24-10 instead of 17-10 in week 11.

Brady needs support, not blame. I think the whole team in general needs support, not blame. They compete hard. I don’t think this team is soft like the 2009-2010 team. This team competes but is just missing talent via injuries. There’s nothing much more I can expect of them.

very very reminiscent of 2015 honestly.

They are definitely missing talent, but not simply via injuries. The O just isn't very talented from it's construction either.

...He seems blind to why AB had to go.
"Had to go"?

Brady's not blind...he knows why AB isn't here, and the hypocrisy of that decision pisses him off, as well it should.

Patriots 2019
9th in Offensive Points Scored
3rd in Total Points Scored

Develin out + OL issues + no Gronk means nobody has to respect the run game.
No deep threat
Starting center - Out
Starting LT - Has been out all year
Gronk - Gone :(
Antonio Brown - Gone
Josh Gordon - Gone
Sanu - Has had what, three weeks of practice with the team?
Harry - Is a rookie and returning off IR and has had two weeks of practice with the team
Watson - In his first year (back) he lost 4 games due to suspension

The offense isnt going to get worse. These guys need more time together, they havent had any as a group.

My main concern is his inaccuracy in his short game, which is just not like him. Plus those end zone interceptions which are very uncharacteristic in trash games. His mobility is great, for him (ghost vision notwithstanding in some cases where the pressure gets really bad). When he has time he looks great. He can't block himself ffs.

Plus the obligatory....
I don't care.I can't stand it!

As others have said, Wynn's return represents more than just an "improvement" on the o-line, he's literally replacing a tackling dummy. When you put a live body on Brady's left you should see a dramatic improvement.

Yeah, last I checked we didn’t have any injured star WRs or TEs that would make us say “awww shucks we got the injury bug”. After Wynn’s return it’s only Andrews and Develin. The rest we just never built a good Offense this year. It’s on the Front Office

Shhhhh!!! Putting two and two together is hard for some people. Be nice. Let them wallow around in their puddle of spit.

QB rating is about as good a place to start as any. It doesn't give you an absolute ranking, and it will miss on a couple of players every year because of one reason or another, but it's usually pretty good over the course of a season.

And it's doing pretty well so far this year, too.

no doubt, and it doesn't all have to do w/ talent in the other positions

there's WAY more throws that are off in the short range area, he missed more screen passes than i can to count just last game alone

his consistency on putting the ball on target has faded a lot this year, but has been fading each of the last two years a lil bit to where he was at the same level as other starters in the league, this year it has dropped off a cliff, for some reason, hopefully he gets it back, because if you can't even throw accurate behind the LOS, you can't play QB in NFL for long

each of last 2 years? You realize he was NFL MVP 2 years ago. You’re just making this stuff up now.

No qb is going to look good when if the ball isn’t out in 2-2.5 seconds your blindside protector most like has their defender running through or around him. Not to mention all of the turnover at the wr position. It’s been a ****show for the passing game all year. There’s been nothing constant from the pass protection or the wr core except Edelman, and even he’s had a case of dropsies.

I noticed a bit of a decline last year as well, but he powered through it.. this year do not see the "fire" we are accustomed to...

From my big comfy couch saw him making chicken salad out of chicken crap for some of these seasons.. some years it was almost an embarrassment of riches, this year less so.. but he has always figured it out, he does not seem to have the same "fire".. lots of errant passes, could be the receiver or could be #12.. but have said for a while now he does not look the same as he did in the past.

The receivers can be blamed, but the loss of Andrews, Wynn, Gronk and Develin were huge for this team and the O has been playing catch up ever since.. Tom has to figure out a way to develop trust in his younger receivers and McDaniels has to develop a game plan that reflects a quicker offense instead of slow developing plays..

I think they did a good job of getting Sanu the ball quickly in the Ravens game. Unfortunately, he’s not the fastest player, but they seemed to develop plays that got the ball in his hands, and I believe that he finished with 10 catches. The offense looked to be doing well at times during that BAL loss, so maybe they can get back to that.

Splitting White out wide was another nice wrinkle that they might be able to build off of, moving forward.

*wrong thread* Mods, delete this post.

I agree but ratings without context can be misleading. I know you know that. I believe Brady's rating is more a reflection of the oline etc.. and not him falling off of the proverbial cliff.

There is zero coincidence as to why Brady's best game was his first game, and why the AB thread has over 600 posts. Also Wynn

AB wasn't on the team until Week 2.
