As much as I absolutely hate to say it, Brady has not been playing well this year.

He isn't playing with the same fire. Idk...just going through the motions

Somebody who’s pissed off about the performance of the unit under his command IMHO still has fire. And plenty of it.

Let's not look at anything surrounding him and just put it all on him. Yup, that sounds like a great plan.

There is zero coincidence as to why Brady's best game was his first game, and why the AB thread has over 600 posts. Also Wynn

He didn't have to go, that's the thing.
Yes he did. That last tweet about one of his accusers. He did it himself. He can't help himself. I was not a fan of taking AB since is is a clown and brings a circus. I didn't want him cut when he was possibly being blackmailed but that last tweet was it. Patriots got taken on this by his agent. Put him in the rear view mirror and Brady needs to stop having a hissy fit about it. So the offense isn't great, its about being the best you can with what you have. If you can't live with that then retire. Once upon a time I admired Brady for 'my favorite receiver is the open one" mentality. I like him, he is a great QB who even when he has diminished skills is a great asset for his knowledge but come on, I'd kill to have your problems.

I think we all fall into that trap sometimes and it is human nature.

BB failed TB this year. I mean he is 42 and BB surrounded him so far with not nearly enough talent. Seriously Sanu was a WR3 at Atlanta and in his first game he made a big difference. James White isn't nearly as effective as he was the last years and Edelman gets doubled a lot this year. Michel has been such a disappointment too. N'Keal Harry injured. We all know about the O-line issues.

Yes, Brady isn't playing well (particulary some of his throws in the end zone) but the talent on the offensive side of the ball is the worst in the Brady era. We can only hope that with Wynn, Harry and Sanu they develop to be better for January.

When your QB is 42 you need to make his life easier. I think a lack of a running game has hurt Tom in this stage of his career. A running game would set up play action nicely. Being balanced like last year

I liked it when the Pats brought in AB.
I liked it more when I saw him play with Brady.
I had never heard of any serious problems until he came here.
I didn't like the way he acted while he was here.
I didn't like it when he was dumped but I understood.
If he came back I'd try to like him again. As a Pats fan I'd have no choice.

Lack of taller than 5’10” receiver’s? See 2003.

Brady has had an average season at best, the highlight was our defense steam rolling people.

But he hasn’t had much help other than AB for the one week and Jules being the only constant guy on offense.

His best game of the year so far passing wise has actually been game 1 against the Steelers. People have been so caught up on how good the defense has been playing that they have not thought about how Tom has been playing this year. He has never had a passer rating that is below the league average in his entire 20 year career. So far, however that has been the case, his passer rating so far is actually lower than it was in 2013 which was a hard year because of the likes of Aaron Dropson and Thompkins. I really hope this isnt the cliff and it's because of the offensive line not giving him the time he has been accustomed to in recent years or the lack of reliable weapons similar to 2013. The eagles were blanketing edelman almost the entire game, Harry is still getting accustomed to the system and Sanu was not able to get much separation throughout the game. You could say that the lack of Gronk is also causing the offense to look anemic but Brady did not have Gronk for most of 2016 and thrived in the games that he played. I seriously hope it is not the cliff and Wynn comes back and we see the Brady of old late in the season and during the playoffs because if it is the cliff, Pats are in trouble. Offense playing like it did last sunday will not cut it against Baltimore or even Kansas City. If last year's offense played against this Ravens team, it probably would have been a shootout and a win but the offense is simply not what it has been and they will have to figure it out in order to compete in the playoffs against the league's best teams. Defense can only carry you so far.
You do understand that passer rating is an arbitrary formula created so novice fans could have a shortcut to compare statistics they don’t understand very well, right?

o_Oo_Oo_Oo_O

Not all those years with Pitt? Or the Oakland debacle?

It wasn't until he came to the Pats that his more serious past problems came to my attention. I knew he was messed up but I wasn't prepared for how messed up.

Brady needs support, not blame. I think the whole team in general needs support, not blame. They compete hard. I don’t think this team is soft like the 2009-2010 team. This team competes but is just missing talent via injuries. There’s nothing much more I can expect of them.
Sounds like you are talking about the dolphins not the 9-1 team that has 179 point scoring differential.

Hopefully things change as we move to the SB.

Go Pats

Like last year and we rode it to the super bowl. The O-line is the biggest problem, solve that and all else falls into place. Don't think Wynn alone will do it and there's not much time left.

He's not the problem but he could be better, as could everyone else on the offense right now.

Is there more I should expect from a team that is 9-1?

We have been stuck with Marshall Newhouse for the past 9 weeks. Newhouse is playing for his 7th team for a reason. Watching Brady with that kind of protection against a nasty philly front 7 was painful. Philly exploited it the most but Newhouse has been a major liability all year.

I can't say he is declining but his numbers certainly are. His red-zone plays are also disappointing. If he has to go on the road in the playoffs we could be in trouble.
