Two Curran downers re: Brady

I don’t have the slightest issue with Brady being upset on a day where the offense scored their only TD on a trick play—after they had lost the game before.

As a matter of fact, I want him to be pissed off about their struggles.
And coming off a bye at that...

It's funny how quickly people turn on a legend simply because he's showing some frustration about his job not currently going as well as he wants it to.
That's the nature of society... that's how quickly it happens.

And coming off a bye at that...
Wow, I kind of forgot about that. Tom probably busted his ass for two weeks and with no success.

If everything is so bad for Brady there is an easy solution. Retire or sign with another team this offseason.

Surely the success will just translate, and all the money and the skill players that the coaching staff is denying you will just be there. It will be so much fun.

Otherwise show some mental toughness instead of venting your frustration and continue grinding away like the rest of the team has been doing for many years.
Why does it have to be shut up or retire? No one has ever vented frustration? I thought you were one of the intelligent people on this board.

I am just going to say, “no big deal, he”ll be watching film at 5am.”

I agree sort of. There’s no better pocket passer, and I’m wary of running QBs, but I wonder if the game has changed enough that his inability to run well has become more of a problem.

The game has always had both mobile and pocket passing QBs. Both can still be successful.

The EP is more potent than any read option offense if the receivers are on the same page and if Brady has two to three seconds of time to throw.

Because of the Swiss cheese Oline issues they don't have a running game and Brady doesn't have time to throw. It's a freaking miracle that they're 9-1 right now.

Anyway Wynn is back and hopefully that'll help.

It is kind of pathetic when you think about it. Philly's defense is alright, no doubt. But they aren't so good that NE, after being spotted the ball at or near the 50 three times with a FG likely icing the game, could never get said FG. They came within an Agholor catch from possibly needing to play an overtime game against a team missing three of its biggest names in offense. And again, this is coming off a bye. They must do better, but I'm beginning to wonder if they have the personnel.

Because it is getting annoying to hear all those "poor Brady" stories. Other units on the team have been going through similar rough seasons many times while Brady's unit performed and they kept working on it instead of venting to the media or during press conferences.

The first time in 6 years he doesn't have a top 5 unit and where is his mental toughness about it ? Go be angry and pissed and turn this into something positive during practice or film review.

Again, this is society now. Sad world full of entitled and self loathing hypocrites.

Funny how a terrible OL now has people questioning pocket passers. This feels like those "has the game passed Bill by" or "has Bill lost his fastball" questions when he had guys like Sterling Moore starting at CB, for example. How's that looking now?

I don't know how we could state " decline" when he's been dealing with a swiss cheese Oline all season.
And one of the worst WR corps he’s ever played with aside from the couple of games they had Gordon and Brown. Two rookies (one undrafted), Edelman, and Dorsett most of the season with the worst TE group in the NFL. Yikes. I’d be pissed off too.

If you can’t deal with him *****ing and moaning once after those results, it’s more about your mental toughness.

You might think he’s turned into Roethlisberger the way some are taking this. Get a ****ing grip. It’s not like it’s Week 1, they came out of a bye and were crap on offense because of the weather, Jim Schwartz, and their own poor performance.

I'm getting tired of Curran talking about Brady's "low ball" contract offers. Brady has been paid at or near the top of the market for a great majority of his career. At the end he's missing out on the explosion of the QB market that's been happening the last few years. But he ALSO must know that it would be extraordinarily stupid for his team to invest a top of the market contract on a 42 year old QB.

Also Brady has ALWAYS wisely traded the opportunity to get the last dollar in order to have a competitive team to surround him. If he wants to milk the last dollar out of the Pats, (money that wouldn't change his lifestyle one iota), he should be the one to tell Joe Thuney, or Jaime Collins, or any of the other Pats FA's that would like to stay here, that they can't get "their's" because he needs even more of "his".

If Brady truly feels "underappreciated" and "under paid" and is mad about it then F*CK HIM. Thanks for all the years that you weren't an as*hole, but I rooted for Tom Brady, NOT Tom Baby.

But frankly I think this is a media narrative perhaps fed by those surrounding Brady who have their own agendas. I'm hoping Brady is STILL the guy he's always been, just frustrated that the offense isn't contributing as much to this successful season as he'd like. I get that. But maybe someone should tell him that his pouting all the time is not only bad for the team, but it makes it look like he is blaming everyone ELSE on the offense for the results.
Ken you post a lot of good stuff but this one is a huge swing and miss.

Agree. How Brady ends his career does matter, not just for the Wins and Losses but also for the lasting image we'll all carry of how he managed the gradual erosion of his effectiveness and having to face the end. Nobody is predictable in these circumstances, the toughest emotional challenge they face in a career. I hope he has the emotional intelligence to do it gracefully and thankfully. He's lived a dream of a life so far.

A lot of ridiculous takes by Curran, the media and some on this forum lately imo.

It's not about the money. It's not about the stats. It's not about his legacy. It is and has always been about winning.

They are winning.

Might help to put his posts into context. He’s not a Patriots fan. He never has been. He doesn’t root for the uniform. He roots for Bill Belichick. He made embarrassing posts like this last year too... right up until the point that Brady dropped a dime to Gronk to seal # 6. Guess he didn’t learn his lesson. It’s funny. Brady says he’s happy to be 9-1 while pointing out that the WHOLE OFFENSE (this includes him) can play better and you get all the resident bandwagon jumpers saying “he needs to shut up and retire.”

I am not a player for this team. Showing mental toughness (i.e. doing whats best for the team when it isn't the best for you individually) doesn't apply to me or anyone else here, obviously.

How you process information is about mental toughness. Look around society and you’ll see a complete lack of mental toughness.

Again, get a grip, cut the guy some slack and move on like an adult.

The complete opposite is true. I am a Patriots fan and not part of this cult of the infallible
Brady.

And I am certainly not talking about his criticism of the offense. This is about once again going through Curran behind the scenes to make sure all the garbage from previous seasons like "lack of respect through money" or "not enough skill players" gets brought up.

Or do you seriously believe Curran is just pulling this out of his ass while having lunch with his pal Guerrero.

I don’t think he’s an American either. Think he’s English but I might have it wrong. If he is, not sure what the mental state of those people is these days.
