We are on to Dallas

There are only two teams in the NFL that have been favored to win every single game in 2019. They are New England and Dallas. Obviously, that streak will come to an end on Sunday, but Dallas has been a much different team since the acquisition of Amari Cooper at last year’s trade deadline. They are more explosive and Dak has been an efficient QB.

The WR group starts with Cooper, who is one of the best route runners in the game, and continues with Randall Cobb and Michael Gallup. Jason Witten still needs attention and Zeke Elliot is a monster at RB. He should be the defense’s main takeaway this week. Dak’s ability to scramble and throw on the run has been much improved to where he seriously looks like a top 10-12 NFL quarterback.

I think we can attack them on the back end, assuming that NE’s offense can actually get going, but this Dallas team has the #1 offense for a reason. They have quality players at every position from the OL and RB, to the WR and QB. The Pats are going to need to score some points again. Hopefully, that starts with a good week of practice.

They lost to the Jets.
They did, although football isn’t a game where the idea of transitive property applies. Just because team A defeated team B, and team B defeated team C doesn’t mean that team A will also defeat team C.

Look no further than the 2011 SB winning Giants, who lost to a terrible Redskins team (twice) who only beat three other teams that year.

I agree. Transitive property is non existent in the NFL. Pats lost to five non playoff teams last year. Including to bum QB's like Tannehill, Mariota, Bortles and a bad Lions team. They still won the SB. To your point, Dallas losing to the Jets, and the Pats sweeping the Jets, means nothing. It's all about matchups.

But I think this is a game we can't afford to lose. Not with Houston and KC looming after that. We win this game and we could still be in great shape for the 2 seed. Losing means we would need to win one of the Texans and Chiefs game to avoid the 3 seed. Assuming both of said teams win the rest of their games.

Dome team in bad weather.
We don't really lose at Gillette.
Pats Win.

People were making a big deal about who the Pats have played well if we apply that to Dallas their Strength of Victory right now is .258

only teams lower than that in the league are
Bildos- .214
Cardinals .167
Giants & Redskins .200
Bengals .000

The Cowboys are incredibly inconsistent in spite of their talent level because of their lack of discipline and plodding predictability on both sides of the ball. They're a less out of control version of this year's Browns - they have to tools to beat anybody, but not the discipline or smarts. It's the story of the entire Jason Garrett era, you never know which team you're going to get from week to week.

I feel like the Pats should win, but the Cowboys effort and execution are so completely random that they're just a hard team to pin down. It could be really tough, or the Pats could hang 42 on them and win a laffer, there's no telling.

I would not have a good feeling going into Balt for the AFCCG.

Just like you people didn't have a good feeling going into Kansas City last year with the team that only scored

20 in Jacksonville
10 in Detroit
10 in Tennessee
10 in Pittsburgh

and being outscored 108-50 in those games

Not a great matchup for Dallas. Feels like a week Dak should have an “off” game.
Pats score 20 they win

If we are lucky one day people will realise that the postseason happens when it happens and none of the regular season games are a referendum on how this team will do in the playoffs.

They have over 2 months to get their **** on offense together. Just like last year.

Dallas matches up with us well on offense. They have a quality OL and one of the best RBs in the league and this is a defense that has been shaky against the run. Dallas also has Jason Garrett as a head coach. That means they’ll likely abandon the run and go air raid with Dak, playing right into New England’s strength on defense. It’ll probably be another ugly win, but a win nonetheless. It’ll be interesting to see if this game will be the last straw for Garrett, should that transpire.

Pretty sure Garrett gets the entire season no matter what and then just doesn't get re-signed if he misses the playoffs.

Garrett is awful. I can't possibly see how Jerruh brings him back in 2020.

Excited for the clapper to clap when Dallas has a drive that stalls and leads to a FG.

Can't WAIT

Dallas doesn’t feel like a warm weather team. They’re tough. They’ve won some big games late in the year in Philly.

Home games are better than away games.

Dallas wins so far: Miami, Giants, Redskins, Giants, Eagles*, Detroit

Dallas losses: NOLA, Green Bay, Jets**, Vikings

Like many middle teams, they win against bad teams and lose against good ones. I like our chances.

* = OK, beat one good team
** = OK, sometimes lose to bad teams too.
