The problem is that there are people on here acting like Newhouse doesn't do anything right and gives up sacks on every play. There are plenty of people, including yourself, who seem to think that having a stationary door would be better than having Newhouse on the field. The problem is that many people are blaming Newhouse for things that aren't in Newhouse's control. Such as people blaming him for the sack today. The sack came from a delayed blitz that was the fault of Karras. Not of Newhouse. Newhouse had the DE tied up and lunged the best he could to try and make a play on the man that Thuney would normally have picked up if he'd been able to pass the DT off to the Center. He couldn't do that and so the LB got in free.

It's on Karras for turning his back on the LB and not paying attention. He's done it on several occasions this year and it's led to a Brady sack each time.

One could also say it was on Brady for not moving the RB (White) over from the right outside position to Brady's left side to pick up the delayed blitz or possibly be a hot route out of the backfield.
You are hyperbolizing.

A win is a win. Consider: most people have now forgotten how bad the O was in the SB. What is remembered and what matters is the Patriots won the SB. Nothing wrong with identifying the weak spots but it's all about getting a victory. And there are some good things to highlight from last night:
-Folk looks decent. Not saying Gost or AV but looks confident and kicks look true. Feeling better about FG (how huge is this?).
-Man! that down the middle connection to Watson on 3rd down. Hopefully that connection further develops. That's huge to have a TE receiver presence 10+ yards down the middle of the field. Definitely help with the terrible 3rd down conversion rate
-I thought Sony had a few hard runs, running with purpose. Yes the run O sucked frequently but he was plowing ahead on a few (now we need more of that).
-Harry's first game and he was productive. That's a damn positive for sure.
-The Run D that was absent past few weeks all of a sudden, second half, rock solid. When this D just decently stops the run it will thrive.
-Sanu gave us a good PR, first in a while.
-Bethel and Slater continue to be all over punt coverage.

Very, very happy with a hard fought win tonight. That defense did a great job against an excellent offensive line that they beat into submission. Both Lame Johnson and Peters had to leave the game. I think we can put the "they stink against the run" critique to bed. That Philly team won their last 2 games on the strength of the o-line blocking extremely well. The Pats handled it.

The offense on the other hand was atrocious. They have no place to go but up. I think they will need to score more than 17 points to beat the Cowboys. At home with another week of practice, hopefully they can perform better especially in the red zone. I've been harping about it for weeks. That's the big issue this season. Go Pats!
I'm not worried about the Cowboys. In the Belichick/Brady era, they have never lost to Dallas and the average score has been 28 to 12. Heck, even Pete Carroll beat the 'Pokes in 1999.

That play was a direct result of Watson dropping an important throw in a similar (or possibly the same) route against Baltimore 2 weeks ago. he pounded the turf in disappointment with himself and then made one hell of a catch today.

No, but he would have had more time with him preseason. It’s not nonsense. It’s practice. You’re ok with Brady’s attitude at that presser? How does that help the team going forward? Probably the worst part of it is he couldn’t even show appreciation for the people who DID play well. He acted like a spoiled jackass and that helps no one no matter what the problems are.

Tom Brady is an elite quarterback.

Who doesn't act like one. He is always, always humble and praising of his teammates.

And in 18 years he's "sulked" and/or acted the diva exactly how many times?

Please.

Brady is allowed a bad presser without being crucified for his "attitude" that we've seen exactly 1.5(?) times in the past 18 years.

Right. Anyone who thinks we're going to plug Wynn in and jump up to 33 points per game is gonna be disappointed. Newhouse isn't as disastrous as people make him out to be, he just isn't elite like most of our Brady LTs have been
Agree with first part of your statement...not second part....Newhouse is a liability...horrible

Good points but in fairness some (not all) of Brady’s struggles have been due to this horrible OL play as we all know....no time to throw...hard to establish run...can’t find any rhythm....etc

Philadelphia defense has yielded (passing) 380 yards to case keenum....320 yards to Matt Ryan...422 to aaraon Rodgers...333 to Kirk cousins...239 (and 102 rating) to Dak Prescott...and Brady has 216 yards, 4.5 an attempt and completed 55% of his passes

Facts are, Brady was not good against a defense that some mediocre QBs have lit up...

The defense bailed this sorry offense out, and they needed to redeem themselves after the Baltimore debacle...good on the D...but Brady has not been good 4 TDs/3 int last 4 games and his rating is around 85

Kinda sounds like we need a scapegoat, and when Wynn replaces him and we don't suddenly skyrocket to 30+ PPG I'm wondering who will be next to blame

With all of the kerfuffle about the presser - my guess is on who that will be is:

Donna Spigarolo - Community Relations Director - New England Patriots

I don't think she attended OTAs either...

Not excusing him for that, he was off, I'm responding about a lot of short passes.

Amen.

This entire season has been concerning there. His “putting game” has been shockingly bad. It’s almist like he has the “yips”. He used to be the master of short passes, screens etc. It’s Knobluachian right now and I hope he gets his mind right about it soon.

.

Lost Gronk (a security blanket Brady has had for a decade).

Watson was out for how many weeks?

Has had how many weeks of practice with Sanu?

Has had how many weeks of practice with Harry?

Gordon gone.

Antonio Brown gone.

Call me a homer, but I will stand by my theory that Brady, the offense and the Patriots will only continue to improve in the upcoming weeks.

I hope so.

I have never had to hold my breath on Brady’s 12 foot dump off throws before. Anybody who watch this game tonight saw 2-3 of THOSE that were almost picked off .

I think the point is that if you are saying he is a 5th strong OL playing like a 5th string OL that’s the same as saying he sucks. Which makes everyone right in this case
Except when that 5th string OL is playing like 10th stringer on the St Mary’s School for the Blind high school team!

Pats are 9-1: 5-1 on the road, 4-0 at home.

Philly didn’t score in the second half. Pats score the final 17 points of the game.

Wentz had pretty mediocre protection for most of the game. That gave him happy feet. Five sacks and a lot of pressures.

Bailey had one shank but had a 47.6 yard avg. on 8 punts. Pinned the Eagles back several times, including to start the last series. Huge in a game like this.
Bailey was awesome

It is funny how ppl complain about Brady.

I don't remember any dimes yesterday (Watson one was REALLY good) and only 3 ''bad''throws

Sanu that he catch but the ball was too low
Seam to Edelman that he missed and shoud have connected because it was a ''easy'' one
RZ almost intercepted

But again did you guys watched the ''MVP'' Lamar play? Any player that is not wide open after 7 yds is a hail mary. Mahomes WR and TE are so open sometimes that we can't see a defender on TVwhen they catch the ball, that is why they are 2nd in YAC. Mahomes misses a LOT of throws and his % is inflated because of the checkdowns 23 of 36 last game were behind the LOS ou within 5 yds. For every bomb that they broadcast 10 or 15 easy throws and LOTS of YAC. Wentz you guys saw yesterday.

What you guys expect? A 42 yr old pocket passer, without minimal time to throw and no run game to support him look like a MVP?

The candidates are LJ that best stat is (TOTAL yds) and Wilson that is the only QB that was having a better year butneeded 3 poss to put his team on FG range (INT inside the RZ) against SF that almost lost to Cardinals yesterday.

1) Michel drops almost everything and looks slow af
2) Edelman dropped at least 3 passes (TD included)
3) He has 1 second in 90% of the plays to find a WR
4) Run game is non existent
5) Play calling was bad (McDaniels is having a bad season IMO). Dude repeated 3 times the SAME play to White.
6) WR running the wrong route (Meyers)

This is on BB honestly....not Newhouse....he is what he is which is not a good football player....this is on BB letting this OL situation and the “backup” plan...get to this point...Wynn won’t fix everything but should help a lot

Internet or otherwise, some of the backlash he gets is unfair.

Yes, he isn't a good player by any stretch of the imagination. That said, he's clearly doing the best he can to succeed - I don't think for a second that he's intentionally sabotaging the team or trying to play poorly.

All that said, I'm excited to have Wynn back.

I really don't get the Waddle situation. He got a 2M contract with Buff and was really good. If they have kept him we could have saved money and not traded assets for 2 players that never contribute.

Please take this in the lighthearted humorous way it is meant:
If you honestly think Brady had only 3 bad throws yesterday than, may I ask (given your postername) are you a member of the Bundchen family? :)

I wish.

Do you remember more? We can have a breakdown.
