OT: Astros caught cheating to win their title!

This feels like the equivalent of the Rams walkthrough tape being real.

I hope the Pats didn't burn any calories watching RAMS' red zone walkthrough for this past Super Bowl...........it would have been waste of time.

My opinion is that the championship should still count. I’m surprised that nobody has a problem with mike fiers ratting out his former team. What a rat. Such a petty thing to do.
You do know what happens to rats...

Fcking joke. The AB crap leads the national morning news shows and this doesnt even get a mention. The media has such an agenda.

Active football player being sued for rape vs. baseball team during the offseason being accused of cheating 3 seasons ago. It's not hard to figure out why AB got more coverage.

I heard that this has been happening with the Astros for a few years already, and I think their WS title should be vacated (though it's never going to happen). In addition, their GM and manager should be suspended for a year minimum, and the organization should be losing multiple draft picks.

The Astros are what people accuse the Patriots of, except they only have one title to show it, which could be won due to cheating.

Sports cheaters always have a whistleblower. Lance Armstrong’s masseuse. Steve Courson on the 70’s Steelers and their PED use. Ben Johnson’s coach. The guy that uses to pitch for the Astros in this case and it goes on and on.

And yet- not one credible person has ever blown the whistle on anything going on with the Patriots. Lots of ex Patriots employees and players in and out of the league and... not one. Go figure.

I mean, the Patriots were stealing signs, and doing so illegally. The issue with Spygate is more (a) the fact they could have had the guy on the sideline instead of in the stands and it be perfectly legal and (b) the punishment not fitting the crime. In any case, the Patriots probably would have drafted Phillip Merling or Donnie Avery or someone there.

Because Mark Brunell is the very definition of Con Man.

Mark Brunell - Wikipedia

"......Bankruptcy filing[edit]
The operation of 11 Whataburger franchise locations in which Brunell is involved will not be affected by the bankruptcy......"
That's reassuring to know...I used to like going to the local Whataburger on Lemmon Avenue when we lived in Dallas...

They were but I believe Bill when he says he interpreted the rule against taping on the sideline his way - “used in game” and things went as it did. Bill was right that’s what the rule literally said even though the memo didnt. That’s in his M.O. But he should have called the league first to check before doing it and I think he admitted that afterwards.

I don’t call it an attempt to cheat. Cheaters hide what they are doing. Bill didn’t hide this.

The walkthrough tape if it existed was a different story. I don’t think anyone of us could defend that.

Well, there's a thing called impeachment going on now...kinda takes precedence.

There are two big differences between the cases. There's an actual violation and a true whistle-blower going against the Astros.

The odd thing to me is that some folks are calling the Astros' whistle-blower a rat. I disagree with that if he's exposing an actual violation.

Matt Walsh indicated he was at the Rams walk through practice setting up video equipment for the game and noticed a few things about the way the Rams were in formation. He got grilled about it when he got back to team hotel or something. But he didn't video tape anything.

As Bill pointed out when he (surprisingly) brought it up in the wake of Deflategate -- "80,000 people could see what we were doing"

Also, plenty of coaches knew about it and didn't care. I remember an article from 2007 saying that on one of the videos you could see Herm Edwards waving to the camera.

Really? It sounds petty. He’s no longer with the team. If i am an As player i wouldn’t trust this guy in my clubhouse after this. Some stuff you just buried. It surely didn’t help the stros this year. It wouldn’t shock me if other teams are stealing signs as well but you don’t have people calling them out like this guy.

Let’s not blame warner who had a terrible game.

It’s funny how people wanna defend this guy fiers. I will be surprised if this guy gets signed when his contract runs out.

Sucks for you guys (Red Sox fans) lol...

Meh. I bet a lot of teams are stealing signs but you don’t know because you don’t have people squealing like fiers. It clearly didn’t work the stros this year.
