Kaepernick to get an all 32 team workout in Atlanta

I don't agree with what Kaepernick did but he's been blackballed by the NFL.

He absolutely deserves a shot

I’m sure getting older and not playing football for several years has improved his marginal skill set.

Honestly, we could handle signing him. The patriot way would silence him and he could just defer all questions to BB, who would then defer it to the hand lol. We could use someone like him on the scout team to impersonate the mobile qbs of the league such as Lamar Jackson. We still don't defend mobile qbs well after all of these years. I've seen mobile qbs have bad games but rarely against us.

To be clear, I have no desire to sign him whatsoever, but I wouldn't lose sleep if we did. Imo, there would be more logic to signing Kap than signing a clear mental case in AB.

Anyone that thinks this clown wants to play football is a fool

I’ll try this one.

Yes, CK is probably “better” than some of the backups in the League, so I’ll concede that he most likely is “among the top 60-64”. I’ll also accept the premise that teams are more open to mobile QBs since he’s been away. Finally, despite an amazing D leading the way, “yes” this QB lead his team to the big game and they had a legit shot at winning the SB.

Having said that :
(1) He isn’t good enough to be the difference
(2) He is not accurate enough
(3) As backup, for instance, all the media would want to talk about (to everyone on the team) is CK. The backup.
(4) If he was a good as Mahomes or Wilson, he’d have a job. This League is about winning
(5) If you lose your starter, you aren’t winning the SB. Why get a win or two more w CK ? Better off getting better picks and resetting next season when the starter returns.

I don’t care about his politics. He isn’t “good enough to be worth the circus”. I’m not sure he ranks as a top 45 QB. Why bother ?

This League is about $$$. It’s not about winning. What are you talking about?

The fans are about winning. The League is about making money. And Colin’s kneel-down-on-anthem stuff caused ratings to drop and vitriolic rants. They don’t care if he can win, he was making people turn off the TV which is far more important to the League.

He will remain blackballed.

Yeah Bend Over Bob the League consensus breaking revolutionary. Oh wait. He couldn’t handle AB for more than a week and even threw Brady under the bus when push came to shove. Yeah right. NE isn’t signing CK.

NFL arranges workout for Colin Kaepernick in Atlanta

"The NFL has arranged a private workout for Colin Kaepernick this Saturday in Atlanta that all 32 teams are welcome to attend, according to a memo obtained Tuesday by NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport."

"Kaepernick's workout will include on-field work and an interview. Video of the workout and interview will be made available to all 32 teams, as well."

When are they arranging AB’s workout

Is it possible that this is nothing more than a negotiating tactic used for the next CBA that they’re reportedly hard at work on? Is it an olive branch extended to the NFLPA?

Makes as much sense as anything, the way the NFL's very arbitrary process of discipline goes it may be a forebearer of a fairer process, an olive branch extended to the NFLPA.

Compare Tyreek Hill allegations to the "high crimes" of Kaepernick.. even Ray Lewis killed a guy and he went on to glory.

This is my only opinion about Colin Kaepernick:

He was healthy benched for Blaine Gabbert, only to get the job back when Gabbert got hurt.

This is a thing that actually happened. Everything else surrounding it has zero relevance.

He was benched for Blaine Gabbert.
He was benched for Blaine Gabbert.
He was benched for Blaine Gabbert.

@Wax Frog @Wordsmyth
I am missing something here? Why is my post funny? Is this some inside joke like Adam Seward?

I thought he was sneaky pretty good with a really bad team in 2016 before all that anthem stuff went down.

Darn it, now I remember why Deus was on my ignore list... have to remedy that.

Just a reminder...
He opted out of his very lucrative contract which was far over his worth. He thought he could make more as a FA.... wrong ... he made nothing from the NFL.

Whatever works for you. Personally I need all the laughs I can get and in that respect more often than not he comes through. Understanding YMMV

True but in the interest of fairness Lynch had made it clear they were going to cut him so Kaepernick opted out in order to get his hat in the ring early for all the GM's he was sure were going to beat a path to his door. What was more telling (and far more amusing) than the opt out was the renegotiation that put it in his contract. The Niners were so concerned with getting stuck with his contract through injury that he was never going to see the field again without the removal of his guarantees and the inclusion of the mutual opt out. Kaepernick was so delusional about his own abilities that he negotiated downward in order to get on the field and showcase himself...for unemployment. You couldn't make that up and have someone believe it, lol.

A number of teams have won Super Bowls with backup QBs. Including the Pats with Brady, the Eagles with Foles, the Giants with Hostetler etc
