OT-ish: The gambling thread

Welp my shot a middle is 99.9 percent dead but thank god I bet Seattle live

Nice win for some of us. Good picking.

That was rough...I don't believe in the NFL being fixed but after watching that you can see why some folks think it is. Awful officiating and completely one sided.

They made us earn it. No doubt.

I also scored on a C's/Rockets/Hazz ML parlay...lost the other parlay with the same teams ATS/TT I had the Cs and Jazz ATS and the rockets TT over 125.5....themselves the breaks. Also hit on Wilson over 23.5 rushing yards.

I had 120 on the Bruins tonight...up 4-0 to start the 3rd

Panthers were +2000 at that point

Panthers win 5-4

I hate everything and everyone

nothing matters

I had them on the PL -1. Then I had Eastern Michigan -7 in 2nd half gave up a TD in the final minute for a push. And I have Western Michigan -3.5 and they just gave up a game tying TD with 9 seconds left. Now I have to hope for them to score a TD and hold off Ohio. Awesome end to my games so far tonight....

I grabbed Seattle +6.5 early so I wasn't sweating too hard but taking off my degenerate hat and looking at it from a pure fan perspective the game itself really kind of ticked me off. That's not to say it wasn't entertaining but the officiating seemed calculated to make it that way. If I were a more cynical guy...

That said, with the Chargers game hitting the over and AZ, Pitt and Seattle all coming through the Giants hacking up a furball was my only misstep in a decent bounce back week.

I made a three team parlay via live bets, ML flyer on the NBA Jazz/Lakers (during HT to win) & Trailblazers mid 1st quarter. $50 to win $440...would make my night.:)

I had them +6.5 as well, but then I realized that I should take as many chances as possible with the ML (book refunds first 50 bucks on either side within 6 points), so I put a small wager on the moneyline which provided a 100 dollar bonus. Another rare double ticket/same game cash.

I don’t normally place multiple wagers on the same contest because it seems counterproductive, but I’ve done it a couple of times over the past week and gotten lucky both times. It was nice knowing that the main wager had cashed before OT even started, but hitting a ML dog is a great feeling in itself.

Glad to see a bounce back week for both of us. Personally, I’m on to Pittsburgh (+130). I have a bit of wiggle room knowing that a 50 dollar wager will be refunded if they lose within 6. That’s a pretty crazy promotion that FanDuel is running, so I’m going to try and hit it up a few times on Sunday, too.

That PIT selection was nice. I was actually drawn in to the sucker bet which was LA-3.5. My reasoning was that McVay had been 6-0 in games traveling from West coast to East coast, but it was faulty logic.

I was just thinking the other day how I haven’t picked an over in a long time. Every total that I’ve picked all year has been under, and I bet there’s been about 20-25 of them. It’s been a strange pattern for me.

Except for the Chargers over all of my bets were made off what I perceived as very favorable opens. I took Pitt +4.5 early reasoning it would probably drop but in the unlikely event it climbed I would have doubled up.

I haven't been finding as many attractive O/U's this season as in most recent years, hopefully they start to pick up but with the weather worsening that's probably unlikely. As far as my patterns go of late I'd say the only one that seems to have held up is getting some attractive opens that moved off quick. I jumped early on NE -3, Houston +6 and Oak -7 and all 3 of those lines have already moved to where I wouldn't take them. I almost jumped on Dallas -2.5 reasoning that number would climb (it has) but part of me is thinking it may rise to the point where Detroit becomes the better bet and the Boys are a bit too Jekyll & Hyde ATM to draw my money. Conversely I'm watching for favorable movement on Pitt/Cle and Buff/Mia.

Steelers +2.5 is my bet tonight

If you haven't committed the funds yet you might want to shop that line. I've been watching it and it's been sitting at Pitt +3 for a couple of days

seeing 3 as well

I don’t think either team provides good value tonight

Must be Bovada cause thats what I saw there last night.

Going with the Steelers ML. I think they are the better overall team and better coach. I expect a sloppy game with lots of penalties though
